Thankfully I always had a flashlight on me, in case I would need it, helped keep me out of the dark. Some time passed and seeing that the rain wasn't going to let up any time soon, I decided to see if I could find the back of the cave because even with the flashlight, I couldn't see it and I wanted to know how big the cave was. After walking for about 25 to 30 minutes or so of walking I couldn't find the end but feeling somewhat adventurous, I decided to continue my endless trek towards the back of the cave. after about 10 to 15 minutes, the battery of my flashlight died and I had to continue in the dark because I didn't know what else to do. I only wish I had remembered that I had a spare set of batteries in my back pocket, which probably would have helped me with the rest of the time but l was too tired to think about them. after what seemed like several hours of walking and reaching out in front of me so I could feel the back of the cave, I stumbled upon something that was flat and from what I could tell was made of cold metal. I started feeling around the surface for some sort of protrusion or indentation so I could tell what I was touching and after about 30 seconds of this, I found what felt like some sort of door handle except it was really oddly shaped. I decided to turn it and see what would happen. it turned quite slowly and released a somewhat quiet hissing sound and the surface started sliding forward on the same side as the handle until it opened and I was blinded by the light that came from it.
