Chapter 7: First day
"How's your interview?" Brian asked as soon as Michelle stepped her foot in their working place "It's fine" Michelle said as she sat down on the couch and put her feet on the glass table "Feet off the table" Matthew said and handed her a sandwich. Michelle rolled her eyes before removing her feet on the table and getting the sandwich to Matthew "Will you stop being a perfectionist for five minutes?" Michelle said sarcastically earning a chuckle from Matthew "What do you mean its fine? Tell us what happened" Brian said and sat in front of her "The interview went well, they asked me basic questions as if they didn't see it on my resume" Michelle said while typing on her laptop "Tell them about the girl too" Daniel said while smiling widely "A girl?" Franklin suddenly popped out of nowhere "What girl, Michelle?" Franklin asked "the crazy mall girl" Michelle said that made them laugh "that's what you call Destiny" Matthew said that made Michelle chuckle "Coincidence is the right word" Michelle said before standing up "Back to work!" She half yelled before getting her laptop
"Answer the phone please!" Michelle said when she heard their telephone ringing "Yes? Hello?" She heard Daniel answered "…..Ah! Yes, she's here" Daniel exclaimed "Michelle, someone wants to talk to you, I think it's from the university" Daniel called her, Michelle stood up and get the telephone from Daniel "Michelle speaking" She said. There was a long silence before Michelle speak again "Thank you very much, Sir" she said "Yes, I'll see you tomorrow, good bye" She said before hanging up the call "I got it" Michelle said that made them look at her "You got the what?" Brian asked "I got the teacher place" Michelle said before walking towards their white board and writing an 'X' on the teacher thing plan, that means they already did it "That's great!" Matthew exclaimed "Congrats to you Teacher Michelle" Franklin said and giggled "Yeah, thanks" Michelle chuckled.
"Can you guys tell me why am I here?" Michelle asked as they arrived at the university "Because you agreed to be a teacher" Matthew said "Because you agreed to PRETEND to be a teacher" Brian said emphasizing the word pretend "Because you agreed to this mission" Daniel said "Because you studied teaching five years ago" Franklin said and they all turned their heads to him "What?" he asked. "Michelle, you can do this, don't be nervous" Daniel cheered her up that made her smile "Thanks Dan" Michelle said and bid her "goodbye" to them
"You must be Ms. Dalinton" a man approached Michelle as soon as Michelle stepped in the University's halls "Yes" she nodded "I'm Bailey, Bailey Wick" The man said and stretched his hand for a shake hands, Michelle smiled and gladly accepted the shake hands "Pleasure to meet you." Michelle said "You must be the new teacher" Bailey said and looked at her up and down, maybe because of what she's wearing. She's wearing a black pants, black turtle neck, black blazer, black boots and her blond hair is tied up into a bun. "Is there anything wrong Mister?" Michelle asked "Nothing, let's go over here ma'am, I'll lead you to your office" The man said before walking away. Michelle followed while carrying her suit case "You have a very cool sense in fashion" The man said and smiled "thanks" she said while walking, she adjusted her thinned framed glasses as she walk. All of the students were looking at her, some were complimenting and some were looking at her like she just grown a horn "How old are you Ms. Dalinton?" Bailey asked while walking "28 years old and just call me Michelle" she said while trying to keep up with his pace "you have a boyfriend of something?" Bailey asked as he stopped in front of the office door "is this my office?" Michelle asked completely changing the topic "Not just your office ma'am, you have an office mate" He said that made Michelle sigh "Don't worry, it's just the two of you" Bailey said and she gave him a smile before Bailey gave her the permission to come inside.
"Hi" An angelic voice greeted her as soon as she came in "are you my office mate?" the girl asked, then she realized that….this girl is the crazy girl she met "Hi, You must be my office mate?" the girl smiled and she nodded "Elina Scotts" Elina said and stretched her arm for a shake hands, Michelle gladly accepted the shake hands "Michelle Dalinton" She said gave her a small smile. While Elina on the other hand is mesmerized by her beauty, it's like she's looking at 'Gal Gadot' in personal. "My hand please" Michelle said "Oh, yeah. Sorry" Elina smiled before releasing her hand. "That's your table?" Michelle asked and Elina nodded "Sorry it's a bit messy" Elina said and smiled before sitting down. Michelle sat down on her table and took out her laptop and put her ear piece so that she can already hear the boys "Hello? Can you hear us?" she heard Franklin "she can't say anything, someone's with her" Daniel said "What subject do you teach, Ms. Dalinton?" Elina suddenly asked "History" Michelle said and smiled "She's waiting for you to ask her subject too" Franklin said "H-how about you?" Michelle stuttered "Music" Elina smiled. The bell suddenly ring, indicating that the class is about to start. They heard a soft knock on the door "come in" Elina said "Ms. Dalinton?" She heard Bailey's voice "Yes?" Michelle stood up while putting her laptop in its bag "Let me show you your classroom" Bailey said and Michelle nodded before leaving Elina in their office.
"Your office is here in the third floor and the History classroom is at the fourth floor" Bailey said as he walks with Michelle "How 'bout the library?" Michelle asked that made Bailey stop and look at her "Library? You already have your office Ma'am" Bailey said with a hint of confusion in his voice "Noisy office mate" Michelle said as if it's nothing and continue walking "Ms. Scotts is noisy?" Bailey asked and continued to walk trying to keep up Michelle's pace. "Anyways, the library is in the 5th floor" Bailey said and pressed the elevator's button.
They reached their desired floor and walked again. Bailey stopped in front of a white sliding door that has a window on it, but the green curtains were there to block what's inside. "This is your classroom Ms. Michelle" Bailey said and knock thrice at the door before it swung open, revealing a woman, probably in her 40's wearing a pencil skirt and a white t-shirt with a black blazer and black heels "Good morning Mrs. Smith" Bailey greeted and the woman smiled "Oh! This must be the new teacher!" the lady exclaimed and smiled to Michelle "Miranda Smith, nice to meet you" Miranda smiled and stretched her hand for a shake hands "Michelle Dalinton, my pleasure to meet you too" Michelle smiled "Come in and meet your new students" Mrs. Smith said before inviting her to come in inside the class room
"Listen up everyone!" Mrs. Smith said that caught students' attention "This is your new Professor in History, Ms. Michelle Dalinton" Mrs. Smith said that made the students look at her up and down "I expect that everyone will behave like a real Senior-High school student, it that clear?" Mrs. Smith asked "Yes, Mrs. Smith" the students replied. Mrs. Smith smiled and turned to Michelle "Take a good care to your students" Mrs. Smith smiled and Michelle nodded and gave a small smile. Mrs. Smith left the room and Michelle settled her things on the table. "Please, get ready with your history books and we are going to start the lesson" Michelle said and gave them a Professional smile before getting the white board marker and face the white board. "Excuse me Miss?" she heard one student called that's why she turned to look who is it "Yes?" she said "Sorry to interrupt your lesson, but I think you should introduce yourself to us" a guy with round thin framed glasses and curly hair said
Michelle sighed
This is going to be a very long day Michelle thought before clearing her throat
