16 Shen Yue

Nie Zexi who was sitting beside them interrupted their staring. "Nie Li, we have some matters to attend to." She had no wish to watch these two lovebirds making eyes to each other. If they want to become more lovey-dovey in the future, they better not do it in front of her.

"Khm," coughed Nie Li taking his eyes away from Ye Ziyun and blushing. Ye Ziyun was red as well. "So" he paused and then cleared his throat and spoke, "Yes, we have some things to deal with today."

"Oh, by the way, Ye Ziyun I also wanted to invite you to our study group. Some of our classmates will be there, including Xiao Ning'er." Nie Li added. He knew that would interest her greatly. She wanted to restore her friendship with her, and that was one of the main reasons, why she was attending Holy Orchid Institute.

"Study group?" asked Nie Zexi.

"Yes, you are invited too. We will share knowledge about cultivation, ancient languages." Replied Nie Li.

"Ancient languages? I feel so cheated," said Nie Zexi.

Nie Li understood her meaning. "I don't have time to teach everyone one by one. Also, Ancient languages won't be the only things you'll be learning," he said.

"So Ye Ziyun, will you join us?" he asked again.

"Yes, I will. If it's not a problem," she said the latter part looking at Nie Zexi.

"No problem," she answered, "I actually prefer to have you there than completely unknown people."

"It's agreed then. Tomorrow at 3 o'clock we will meet here in the library"

"Yes, I'll be here. Have a good day sister Zexi, classmate Nie Li" said her farewells

"Good day to you too," they said and left. When Nie Li and Nie Zexi after putting the books in their places reached the entrance, some guys blocked their way.

"What were you talking about with Ye Ziyun?" asked Shen Yue. Ne Li had completely forgotten about him. And he was in a good mood and didn't want to ruin it by dealing with Shen Yue.

"I don't have time for this now," he said and swatted away Shen Yue's hand that was moving towards his collar. Then he just walked around Shen Yue to continue his way. One of Shen Yue's bigger goons stood in front of him. He began saying "Boss didn't give you permission..", but got an enhanced fist to his stomach for his troubles and doubled over. 1 star Bronze rank wasn't a threat to Nie Li. He simply walked around the downed opponent and continued in his way.

"Out of my way, you nitwits," said Nie Zexi and just walked through them. With her 2 star Bronze rank they were even less problem for her.

Shen Yue was dumbfounded. After his spies told him that Ye Ziyun was talking with someone, he called his gang to teach a lesson to that upstart. Who dares to talk to his girl? When he came to the library and learned that it was Nie Li, he was even more furious. That worm dares to go against him! Shen Yue will teach him such a lesson that he won't be able to walk for a month. But after waiting for almost two hours to ambush Nie Li this was the result?

He looked at his gang. They looked miserable. One of them was still doubled over on the ground and moaning. Why the hell, is he paying them? For being useless?

"Get up" he kicked the one on the ground, "What's wrong with you? You couldn't deal with one kid who hadn't even reached the bronze rank yet."

"Boss, something wrong with that kid. He was too strong. When he punched me it was very painful. Even now I feel numb there."

"Stop making excuses, you useless idiot" shouted Shen Yue, but remembered when Nie Li swatted his hand away, his hand felt numb too. Was it some kind of secret technique? Even though his gang members were commoners, they were still legitimate bronze rank demon spiritualists. For Nie Li to drop the strongest of them with one punch he must have some secrets.

What would have happened if he confronted him directly. Would he have been dropped with one punch as well? He should be more careful in the future. And he needed stronger lackeys, he thought looking at his current "gang members".

"What about the girl?" he asked remembering the girl that was with Nie Li.

"I found out about her boss!" shouted one of his spies, "Her name is Nie Zexi, Nie Li's relative. She is in the Inscription Patterns class. 2 star Bronze rank"

"Why didn't you tell me about this before our attack?" he yelled at his spy grabbing his collar. What's the point of spies if they tell you the information when it's already late.

"Boss, I just found out and run here to report" he wheezed.

Shen Yue released him. They were all useless. What would have happened if they confronted the girl as well. None of his gang was above 1 star Bronze rank. It would have been even more disastrous. Good thing that no one saw that. Or he would have died from embarrassment.

"Who was that?" asked Nie Zexi after they walked a fair distance away from Shen Yue and his lackeys.

"Shen Yue, a young master of the Sacred family. A troublesome fellow." Nie Li replied.

"So, what's his relation to Ye Ziyun?"

"He hopes to marry her in the future, so he doesn't like when someone else talks to her"

"Is Ye Ziyun from The Snow Wind family?" Nie Zexi asked. She knew from her behavior she wasn't an ordinary girl. But she didn't expect her to be a member of the strongest family in Glory City.

"She is City Lord's only daughter." Nie Li answered after a bit of hesitation. She would find out anyway.

"Well, what can I say? You're ambitious. You understand that even though our family is an aristocratic one, there is a huge difference between our families, don't you?"

"That difference is not as big as you think." Nie Li said.

"Ah, your mysterious master. He must be a legend rank expert as well, like lord Ye Mo" she looked at him inquisitively. She wanted to pry some information about his master. But Nie Li indifferently looked ahead as they walked towards the Inscription hall.

Inside the Inscription room, Nie Li took out all the necessary equipment and resources for the inscription process and put them in front of Nie Zexi. Today they are going to create silver rank scrolls. "Okay let's begin" Nie Li sat down. He is going to watch Nie Zexi's first works.

Nie Zexi reverently took the pen and connected it to the Cube. Then began creating her first silver rank inscription Scroll. The Pen was great. It changed the viscosity of the liquid it was fed to the optimal level so no more blots, ruining hours of work. And the power provided by the cube was so gentle as if it was her own power. She was not as fast as Nie Li at creating scrolls, not as experienced as well, considering the advice he provided during the process. It had taken her more than an hour to create a single Silver rank scroll. But she was very happy. She created her first Silver rank Inscription Scroll!

"Okay, everything looks alright. Now we must test it." Said Nie Li.

"Let's go" shouted Nie Zexi ran out of the room with a scroll on hand.

Nie Li slowly put everything on the table inside his ring and left behind her. This room wasn't private. Anyone could enter anytime, so leaving things in the open wasn't safe. Private inscription rooms cost money, so most students used public ones. He should rent a private room for Nie Zexi at least for confidentiality reasons. Also, give her an Interspatial ring.
