CHAPTER 4

In the Residency of City Lord's Mansion,

"So, you are saying this soup is poisoned? Why can't I sense any poison from it?"

"That's because it's in very small amount, it's even less than a pinch but still very harmful. A repeated ingestion for long term will kill anyone. It's mechanism isn't based on qi but on it's physiological effect on the body itself. In it's pure form it should be a gritty crystalline or powered form. It's name is Arsenic."

"Thank you for informing us. If we find such substances in it, we will investigate this matter. I can't be any more thankful."

"I just want Auntie to be healthy and safe. Please do let me know when you isolate the poison."

"Okay, I will let you know, moreover since you're the one that have such knowledge, we are going to need your help. Can you stay here for then?"

"Yes, of course. But you have to ask my mother for it."

"Of course."

Shen Fei and Ye Zong both of them were going towards Ye Mei room. The atmosphere was silent and awkward between them.

"How did you know it was a poison?" Ye Zong asked.

"I read books."

Then it again returned to awkward and silence.

'I have advanced in the way of cultivation far and wide. After I was opened to the world of cultivation, I learned how to absorb and expel soul force from my dantian using a simple trick. The trick was the spin of soul sea.

I made a whirlpool in my soul sea which created a vacuum. This vacuum was responsible for natural increased absorption of soul force. At the centre of the whirlpool, the floating gas-like soul force was being condensed into a thin thread of liquid soul force.

Then I spread the condensed soul force to trace all the network of my body. Fortunately nothing went wrong. It actually was pretty fruitful, since I connected to my other two dantian, 1 in my heart (middle dantian) and another in my glabella (upper dantian).

Did the same thing in my other two dantian. Now I have 3 soul sea spinning connected with each other. The speed of soul force absorption and circulation increased tremendously.

Due to this increase in cultivation speed, I am already a 3-star black gold rank. Yet nobody knows. Why?

Again a simple trick. Turns out people in the glory city can only sense the aura from the upper dantian as it was the place where they made their soul sea to integrate demon spirits.

So unless it's an expert from outside the glory city or Nie Li or maybe Ye Mo, nobody will know my cultivation level. All they sense is a white rank demon spiritualist which is the starting rank even below bronze rank. Cause that's the level of my soul sea of my upper dantian. My middle dantian has 1-star silver ranked soul sea and my lower dantian has 3-star black gold ranked soul sea.'

It wasn't the only thing. Shen Fei had lots of test done in Soul Force. One was it's conversion to other forms of energy and its connection to fundamental force of universe. Turns out, for some reason Soul Force directly affects them. The experiment was still ongoing. He had to develop his soul force control before he could go any further with it.

Another thing was the effect on human body. Depending on how it was circulated and infused, it had various effects. Some positive benefits were they revitalised the cells, helped in excreting the toxins from body that body couldn't naturally excrete. Due to this effect, it greatly increased vitality and healing of the body.

Shen Fei used this trait to understand his human body and thus, maximize his physical strength development. And man did it do wonders. He had a ripped body for a four year old. Each of his baby arms could carry the weight of maximum 40 kg without the influence of soul force.

Not only his muscles, his bones, his nerves, his tissues all of them were bathed with the Soul Force, refining them to the new degree of strength. They were his pure physical prowess.

Overall the results were pretty good for him. Once this poison is settled, he had decided to learn inscriptions as that would help him more in understanding the transformation of soul force.

Ye Zong and Shen Fei arrived at Ye Mei room. He greeted Shen Xinyan once he saw her, "Thank you. Really thank you for coming."

"Of course, I would come. You're always busy with your City Lord works and neglecting your wife. How could I not come?"

"...but.....I haven't neglected her" Ye Zong timidly murmured in a small voice. "Darling! Are you okay? How are you feeling? Please tell her I haven't neglected you."

Ye Mei giggled seeing her pitiful husband, she found it cute, she looked at her husband playfully. Ye Zong heart was filled with trepidation seeing that look.

Ye Mei showed aggrieved look as she complained, "Scold him, sister Xinyan. City works! City works! City works! All he cares is his city lord position. He no longer cares for me."

Ye Zong knew she was playing with him, he held her hand and tried to show his sincerity, "My dear! I have never cared for city lord position. All my heart and soul cares for is you and our princess. How could you ever doubt me? This is my sincerity."

Ye Mei felt bad. She was just playing with him.

"Husband! I know. I love you."

"Dear!"

"AHEM! Hello! I am still here." The pink atmosphere was immediately ruined. Ye Mei and Ye Zong had gotten too much into it. They were embarrassed.

"Ah! I forgot I have my city lord works to do."

Ye Zong fled the scene.

Ye Mei was displeased seeing him make a stupid excuse to flee the scene.

But before going back Ye Zong turned to them again. "Poison or not. Thank you for always taking care of her."

Shen Xinyan smiled, "It's I who should be thanking Ye Mei."

"Ahem! So I will investigate this matter. Sister can I borrow your son's help?"

"Of course. You have my permission."

"Thank you."

Shen Fei who was playing with sleeping Ziyun also said, "Wait Uncle Zong! Let me come with you. I have something to talk about. Mom! I will be right back."

"Okay! Help him. We will be staying here for few days."

Ye Zong and Shen Fei walked towards City Lord's office. Ye Zong broke the silence as he asked, "What did you want to talk about?"

"What does City Lord think about me?"

Ye Zong was a bit confused 'What kind of question is this?'

"What do you mean?"

"Am I genius kid? Or Am I a handsome kid? Or maybe both?"

"I don't know about those but you sure are a weird one."

"Point is do you think of me as your rival's son? Or your enemy's son? Or Shen Hong's son? Or Shen Xinyan's son?"

"Hahahahahaha!" Ye Zong gave a hearty laugh as he rubbed the kid's head and entered the City Lord's office, "You sure are a weird one. No none of it. I think of you as one of the children of Glory city. Our future generation."

Once inside the City Lord's office, Shen Fei then said, "I see. Then here it goes."

With that Shen Fei unleashed his cultivation base. Ye Zong thinking he was under attack immediately turned back and got stupefied. It was the boy unleashing his cultivation base.
