The journey begins

A *clang* resounded throughout the room as my mother dropped her fork.

"What? Reynolds! They are not even four yet! Besides you said that if our sons were augmenters you could teach them" Mother exclaimed desperately.

" I also never expected the both of them to be prodigies in mana manipulation. No one has ever heard of an awakening at the age of 3" father said much more calmly.

"But then they would have to leave home! They're only four Reynolds! we cant have them leave home at such a young age!"

" You don't understand, when I observe them while they meditate I cant help but feel that all this is natural for them. Alice, honey I'm holding them back, they have so much potential"

Thus began their quarrel. The two of us glanced at each other and sighed deeply.

So I began thinking what our affinities would be and started thinking of situations with each affinity and how to mould my fighting style around it.

Finally our parents settled down and father looked at us.

"Art, Fay this will affect your future so you two have a say in this as well. How would you feel aboutgoing to a big city and having a teacher?"

Great

Give the life changing decision choice to the 4 year olds, very smart dad, very smart.

Arthur decided to take the reins here and said,"Cant mommy and daddy come too and meet teacher together?"

I nodded my approval. Meanwhile Arthur started sweating nervously, huh? Whats the matter with him?

Our parents on the other hand started laughing.

" I guess we didn't really think about all of us going together" said my father.

" I might feel better about this if I'm there when he's tested and meets his teacher" mother said with a smile.

" Then it seems like we're going to Xyrus city" Father said while banging his palm on the table.

Seeing that Arthur already packed two books for the trip I only packed my twin swords.

Morning came and we were ready to go meet up with dads ex-party members. The party consisted of three augmenters and two conjurers, them along with my mother, a rare emitter, and my father, a B-class augmenter we we're ready for the trip.

After strapping my two swords on my back in a X I grasped fathers hand while Art held mothers we followed our parents to meet their ex-party members.

Although hearing about them from my father we never visited them.

The information i got from father about the Twin Horns was that they consisted of:

Helen Shard: Female augmenter, specializing in magic archery.

Adam Krensh: Male augmenter, whose main weapon was the spear.

Jasmine Flamesworth: Female augmenter, who specialized in speed with dual daggers.

Angela Rose: Female conjurer, specializing in Wind Magic.

Durden Walker: Male conjurer, specializing in Earth Magic.

We met up in front of the stables of inn they'd been staying at. My father hugging his ex-party member exclaimed," Fellas I want you to meet my sons, Arthur and Fayden! Go on Introduce yourselves."

"Hello my name is Arthur Leywin. My father has told me great things about his fellow Twin Horns members.Thank you for traveling with us to Xyrus. We'll be in your hands." Arthur says while bowing.

" I am Fayden Leywin, a pleasure to meet you. Thank you for agreeing to accompany us to Xyrus. Please take care of us" I said .

There was a silence for a few seconds

Crap were our sentences too complicated

" Such manners, you sure Rey is your dad, kid?" The red haired spear wielder replied. Upon further inspection he was fairly good-looking, had bright redhair tied in a messy poof at the end, almost like a flame, and a couple of bangs escaping from the hair tie. He reminded me of some sort of vagabond. His eyes were bright and almost seemed like they were always laughing. The first thing I noticed though, was the scar across his nose, reaching both cheeks.

Meanwhile the blonde woman, Angela Rose, came near us I managed to avoid her hand but Arthur got picked up and taken to a death trap.

Your sacrifice will not be in vain Arthur, you were a great brother.

Taking a good look at the woman who was trying to kill Art. I realised she was very pretty. I mean, while not as pretty as my mother, she gave off the whole "royal princess" vibe with her long blond hair that came to a curl at the ends and radiant green eyes that drooped slightly.

Just then a strong pair of hands grabbed him by the knapsack tied to his back and whisked him away. The pair of hands belonged to a giant of a man easily passing two meters in height with  staff strapped to his back.

"Angela, you're hurting him" His grunted.

He had very narrow eyes and eyebrows that slanted down, giving him an almostinnocent face, compared to his enormous body that stretched passed two meters. Theshort, scruffy black hair on his head completed the shaggy dog image on him.

Huh? So hes the gentle giant type then.

We looked towards the youngest woman of the group. . She had straight black hair, back half tied up with a ribbon, red, half opened eyes and curt-looking lips, making her seem very brusque. I spotted two short daggers strapped to her lower back, just above the hips.

"Mhm", she slightly nodded and looked away. Arthur looked at me to which I just gave him a shrug and my best 'I dunno' face.

"Don't mind her, she just needs to get used to you" the last member of the Twin Horns, Helen Shard said.

She patted our head lightly and smiled a charming smile. The word that I would use to describe Miss Helen would be sharp. Sharp eyes, sharp, perky nose, thin red lips, and a flat chest, almost boyish, with her shoulder-length hair tied tightly in the back. Clothed in light leather armor covering her ches... I mean, breasts, and bow and arrows strapped to her back, I couldn't help but compare her to an elf, but that thought quickly became invalid after seeing her rounded ears.

I hopped on to the carriage at the rear sitting opposite to Arthur. After the others finished loading in all the travel necessities into the two large carriages we were taking we strapped in lizard like mana beasts, with spikes across their backs and powerful claws, these D-class monsters were a lot more efficient than horses.

So off we went on our journey to Xyrus which I expected to take a Day at max. Oh how wrong i  was.
