I crossed the stage, making my way toward Riley, who was dressed in soft, white pants made out of cotton and a bright purple vest with silver embroidery. He grimaced as I approached, looking down at himself before rolling his eyes, indicating just how he felt about the costume he was going to have to wear during the show’s run.
I was grateful that my dress was much better than Riley’s costume. I was wearing a flowing gown made out of light purple silk. The sleeves were puffy, but still delicate and pretty. There were flowers embroidered all over my skirt.
I felt beautiful. I had known beforehand that we were going to be trying on our costumes, so I did my hair with a braided crown and curled the ends of my long light brown hair. It went perfectly with the costume and I was extremely pleased. It gave me even more confidence as I danced around onstage.
Even though I felt beautiful, I was still dreading practicing this scene with Riley.
