*Samuel*
I let out a breath as I exited the restaurant. It sounded as if the other professors were planning on going out for drinks, but I was ready to head back to my hotel room and pass out after a day like today.
The academic conference had gone well. I enjoyed speaking with professors from other schools, especially if I sensed some value in them as potential business partners. Many of the professors who attended these conferences were involved in other lines of work, sometimes even in the industries I was interested in. I was surprised by the turnout, considering that it was Thanksgiving week, and then figured perhaps most of these professors were like me and weren’t in touch with their families.
“Professor Bennett!”
I didn’t recognize the voice that called out to me but turned anyway, figuring that it was one of the women from the conference who recognized me.
I turned around and I’m sure the shock on my face was comical as I saw who was approaching.
