Chapter 2

Jemma's P.O.V

Today is my sixteenth birthday, and this special day is spent with a special person who has a big place in my heart. So after spending my day with my best friend and more, my school friends brought me to this nightclub for as they call it "mate hunting" as mostly there are unmated wolves in clubs.

I am not much of a club person or even a social person. And as bad as it sounds I am a typical nerd, I don't have any friends except Jack, Katy, and Sophia who is Jacks's mate. Sophia is the popular one, but she is a very sweet and humble person and we all love her. Jack and Katy are also nerds like me and we usually do group studies so we are close.

Jack, Katy, and I are not into clubs but as we love Sophia we came to the club at her request and celebration my birthday

Sophia did my and Katy's makeup. I have greyish smokey eyes matching my eye color and I have a black dress that ends above my knees. Its shirt hugs my curves and from a little above the waist, its plaided skirt starts. My lips are painted matte pink. I cannot believe that I am looking so gorgeous.

Sophia is also looking hot she is wearing a beautiful short red dress that hugs her curves and her makeup is heavy with dark red painted lips.

Jack now has flys in his mouth as his jaw is dropped and he is GAWKING Sofia. Eww

Katy has a mauve-colored dress and her makeup is light she also looks WOW.

So as we enter the club an extraordinary scent of oranges and rain hits me, and I feel like I am in a trance. I lose my friends as I just stop by the dance floor.

For a few minutes, I just inhale it. My eyes are closed and my feet on their own accord start moving towards it.

The scent becomes stronger and more beautiful and suddenly I bump into a wall,

well a chest. Strong hands hold me and I come in contact with icy light blue eyes.

We stare at each other for hours and my wolf is screaming in my head the word mate.

Something flashes in the beautiful icy blue eyes of my gorgeous mate and suddenly he pushes me harshly.

I end up on the floor and start to take in his appearance. He is gorgeous with an almost six-four height, a muscular chest, thin lips, and a straight nose. His brows are of perfect shape and are knitted as if angry, and he has jet black shiny hair which is looking dark blue due to the club's lighting.

And then I come back to my senses. He pushed me.

He snaps his fingers in front of me and says the words I never expected.

" Yo can't you see where you're going. I know what type of girl you are, craving for my attention, well that's pretty desperate"

I feel tears brimming in my eyes and so I reply

" I am sorry for bumping into you but I am not desperate and why would you say that you are my m___"

" Don't say it I don't want a weak girl like you in fact I don't need a girl when I have many so fuck off and don't show me your face again"

That was it my cheeks are wet and as quickly as possible I get up and run towards the exit. My mate doesn't want me. That mate which is your other half and the moon goddess has destined with you for life. I ran away so I don't get insulted anymore and a part of me was worried that he might reject me. This was my worst birthday ever.

Now I only require one person my best friend and my sister. She couldn't make it today because she was grounded.

Jessie is my identical twin. She is my best friend and she has the solution to everything. Jessie is a social animal she has many friends because she is a very bubbly girl everybody in our school loves her. She plays pranks, she is funny, and last week she put fire on the teacher's chair while Mrs.  Avans was sitting on the chair. I don't even know how she executed her plan. But due to this, she was expelled as it was her last warning and she blew it, with Mrs. Avans of course. Now she will be transferred to a different school and as I cannot live without her at the end of the term I will also change schools.

As she is going to a school where there are usually werewolves from the Howling wolves pack. We are in their neighboring pack the Blood moon pack. Our father the alpha is not really fond of their alpha, Alpha Rivers.  She needs a company as well. But I know she will be doing just fine as she is social.

By the way, half the school is on our territory and the other half is on Howling wolves' territory.

I reach my room and enter crying. Jes is lying on her back and earphones are plugged in her ears. I jump on her and cry.

She has a worried expression on her face and she gives me time to talk.

After a while, I start telling her everything and I can see that she is getting furious after every word.
