Casting pearls before swine

Kevin have told Amber that he'd let go Travis; but I know he never let goes once he decides something. I just hope he doesn't ruins everything between Amber and him !

They are getting along together pretty well and I don't want him to ruine this because of his stubborn behavior ! I need to talk to him about it.

She had her dinner and we chatted for a long time about her family and friends. She have resumed her work now.

When she was sleepy, Kevin took her to her room. It have became habit now, he puts her to sleep then leave the room. He came out and I called him,

" We need to talk brother. "

I said seriously.

" About what ? "

Kevin asked.

" About you and Amber. "

I said.

" What about us ? "

Kevin asked confused.

" I know that you are still searching for Travis Lockwood. "

I said crossing my arms.

" So ? "

Kevin said carelessly.

" So, stop it ! "

I said .

" Huh ! I don't have to take orders from you now, you know. "

Kevin said crossing his arms.

" I am not giving you orders, brother... "

I said trying to make him understand.

" Then what are you doing, brother ? Don't tell me what to do ! "

Kevin said getting mad as I interfered in his personal matter.

" It will ruin everything between you two, Kevin. I want you to be happy after so long. "

I said genuinely.

" And don't you think we'll be happy ? Are you going to... "

Kevin said taking things differently as always.

" I am not going to do anything, Kevin ! I am your brother, I want nothing but you to be happy ! "

I said genuinely concerned about him.

" And I am happy, Ethan ! What makes you think I am not ? "

Kevin asked raising his eyebrows.

" Listen to me brother... "

I said trying to make him think about what words but he being him didn't took me seriously.

" I am listening brother ! "

Kevin said trying to prove that I hate him and wish nothing but bad for him. He thinks me asking him to tell her the truth is because I want her to hate him and love me; that's so not true !

And how the hell shall I convince him that, I just want him to be happy with her and she shouldn't leave him after him loving her deeply which will leave scars on his heart which will never heal !

" Let me finish at least ! "

I said getting irritated at his behavior.

" Go ahead. "

Kevin said finally letting me speak.

" She asked you to let Travis go. Stop hunting for him ! "

I said.

" I can't ! "

Kevin said glaring at me.

" But she wants you to ! "

I said persisting.

" Because she is innocent and forgiving and I am a monster ! "

Kevin said yelling at me frustrated.

" No, you are not ! You are a nice person, Kevin. "

I said holding him by shoulders.

" You know I am not ! "

Kevin said clenching his teeth.

" Be for her ! "

I said softly.

" I won't change myself for anyone, you understand ? For anyone ! "

Kevin said firmly.

I asked softly.

" I don't need to change. "

Kevin said.

" Yes, but you can let go ! "

I said trying to make him let go.

" I don't want to ! "

Kevin said getting irritated.

" But she wants you to. "

I said.

" Have you lost the ability to listen, Ethan ? She have forgiving nature, I don't. And I won't let go anyone who hurts her ! "

Kevin said yelling at me.

" You are going to just mess things up between you two by doing that and nothing else, brother. Why don't you understand a simple thing ? "

I said concerned.

" Wo wo wo, wait a minute ! Are you doing this because you love her ? You want us to not to get along so, you can dive in and get the girl, huh ? Is that what you want ? "

Kevin said crossing his arms.

He is beyond his senses to listen and understand basic things !

" Are you talking and I am not getting anything ? Are you out of your mind ? What am I telling you and what are you interpretating ? I want to... "

I said loosing my temper.

" Tell me that I should let Travis go and let her think of me as the guy, who just let the guy go who hurted her and did nothing to avenge her, to take revenge ! "

Kevin said still holding onto his words.

" God, are you even listening to me ? Listening to anything at all ? She clearly said, she doesn't wants to be avenged or take revenge !

By doing what she didn't asked you to do, you are just gonna make your impression as the guy who doesn't care what she wants ! And then... "

I still tried to think about him but he have completely lost it.

" You will tell her that, she shouldn't have put hope in me as I am the monster and you are a pure angel who; only who cares for her, am I right ? Or am I right ? "

Kevin said crossing his arms accusing me constantly when, I am trying to save him from his heartbreak only !

He is not ready to listen to me, I guess I should just let him do whatever he wants and then, regret not listening to me !

I sighed in defeat.

" Do whatever you want to ! Do whatever you think is right. I won't interfere from now on in your personal matters.

I am sorry, I thought I would help you holding on to the love of your life and see you happy with her ! I am so sorry brother. "

I said sarcastically.

" Oh don't act so sarcastic ! I know you love her and want her but she is interested in me, brother ! And I'll make sure to keep her and do whatever it takes to keep her happy and safe. Rest assured brother ! "

Kevin said.

" Good luck with it, Kevin. And at any point you need me to do anything, I am just a call away. Always remember that. "

I said assuring him.

" Thanks for your concern but I won't need it, I am sure. "

Kevin said without even looking at me.

I rolled my eyes and woodshed away !

Telling him what is right on this matter is like, casting pearls before swine anyways !

I just hope he doesn't looses her in way of getting her. I really want him to be happy. He have found love after centuries ! And he is truly happy with it. I hope, just this stupid shouldn't ruine it for himself.
