The Keep

As I walked into the keep, I could still feel the pain in my body, and it was still incredibly intense, however, I could also feel my sense of touch returning to my lower body. I don't know what to think anymore, this incredible speed of healing isn't even possible with an Argonian, let alone a Khajiit. I should look into this... well, right now might not be the best time so I'll wait.

As soon as we got in, We all took a moment to sit and take a breath. We had all just seen a dragon land and massacre an entire village right in front of us, even if we weren't out of the clear yet, we felt safe enough to take a quick rest. However, this didn't last long as we noticed the corpse of a rebel in the corner.

"We'll meet again in Sovngarde, brother." Ralof said as he crouched beside the fallen soldier.

"We need to keep moving, otherwise that dragon might figure out where we are hiding. Do either of you know a way out of here?" I asked the two as I stood up and walked over to the locked door. I wanted to see if there was any way to get it open, however, it was locked.

"There should be a way out if we can get to the other end of the keep, there is an opening in the wall that leads to a cave, that could be our exit!" Hadvar said as he remembered the conversation between the other soldiers.

"Yes, that's just great Hadvar! But how are we going to get out of here, we don't have the key." Ralof said sarcastically as he glared at Hadvar.

"Well, why don't we go look for it then idiot! It should be in here somewhere." Hadvar said with a smile as he ignored Ralof and started looking around for the key.

"Why did you let this imperial coward come with us? After he and the other imperials tried to execute us, you still thought it appropriate to bring him with us?" Ralof asked me with a hint of ridicule in his voice. He wasn't really angry with me, more just trying to shame me for my choice.

"I let him come with us because there is a dragon outside, killing everyone indiscriminately. I don't care what his people tried to do to us, they were doing what they were ordered to do. Now, please drop this, we don't need any more conflict right now. You can settle things when we escape." I snapped back as I inserted my claw into the lock, trying to see if I could use it to pick it.

"Fine, I guess your right, we have bigger things to worry about." Ralof huffed reluctantly as he went off to look around as well.

*Crash*

Noise from inside the keep startled us as we looked over at the other door, only to see that captain from earlier run in. When she saw me, she didn't think twice and unlocked the door, charging straight to me.

"You damn cat! I'm going to skin you alive!" She yelled as she ignored Hadvar and Ralof entirely, drawing her sword and attacking me in rage. While that weird power from earlier was still there, it felt weaker, so I tried to run, doubting my own ability to dodge without its aid.

However, I was too slow, and she caught up to me in no time, swinging her sword down. When the sword made contact, I once again felt a searing pain spread through my chest. The sword had left a huge gash across my chest from my left shoulder to the bottom of my right hip. I immediately roared in pain.

"This is what you deserve cat! How can a let you continue your pitiful life after what you did to me!" She said and laughed as she went to swing again. However, she failed as she was once again hit in the head, causing her eyes to roll back and her to fall over unconscious.

I looked over to see that it was Hadvar that had hit her, he simply used the pommel of his sword and smashed it against her helmet.

"I'm sorry, the captain is easily angered and holds grudges. Are you okay, I will look for some bandages." Hadvar first apologized for his captain's actions before he went to retrieve some bandages from the other room.

I sat there in agony, trying to grit my teeth as much as possible to not make noise and attract the dragon. I simply tried to focus on something else.

"Here, I found the keys!" Ralof said as he rummaged through the unconscious captain's things.

"G-Good, let's go now," I said as I stood up again, trying to cover my wound.

"Not yet, Hadvar is getting some bandages for that, just wait a minute and rest a bit, otherwise you'll bleed out before we make it out of here!" Ralof shouted at me as he kept going through the captain's belongings.

A few seconds later, Hadvar came back with a few bandages in his hands. He rushed over and was about to cover my wound, only to freeze as his eyes widened.

"What is this? How is this possible?" He asked in disbelief as he looked at my wound. I followed his gaze only to see that the huge gash had once again disappeared. I think I might just have a mental breakdown if this keeps up, having these kinds of powers is nice and all, but it is frightening nonetheless.

"What in oblivion!" Ralof exclaimed as he noticed the wound was gone.

"What happened?" They asked at the same time and looked at me.

"I don't know, I can still feel the pain, but the wound is gone!" I said with a little astonishment in my voice.

"Could you be an Argonian cat? Can they have babies together?" Ralof asked as he looked around to see if I had any scales.

"Maybe she spilled a healing potion on her blade when she was healing herself, and just forgot," Hadvar suggested as he put down the bandages.

"Yeah, that might be it" I agreed hesitantly. I know that that isn't the case, but since I don't know what's happening, it would be best to hide it, otherwise, if I tell the truth and it turns that I am being possessed by a Daedra, then I won't know what to do.

"We'll ask her later, for now, let's get going," Ralof said as he unlocked the door and started down the stairs. Hadvar picked up the captain's body and followed.

I stood up and felt a surge of pain run through my body, making me flinch, however, I grit my teeth and followed them.
