The Sect was bustling with disciples as usual, and regular activities were being executed but the elders weren't at the Scene. A little far from the Sect was the conference being held under the clear sky.
The weather was freezing and the clouds looked heavy. The sun didn't shine today. Is it going to rain?
Chiefs of Sects and Lords of different Clan, one by one enter the ground, settling down on their respective spots along with their respective followers. The place was huge with a big stone stage (throne). There were four long pillars and between those four long pillars was a fountain of Liquor. The ground was made out of expensive marble and at the back of the stage stood a huge marble pillar with 'Front Liberation Sect' carved on it. Along with that was the name of every Chief who took over the throne in the past.
Everyone would whisper things to each other by the time a chief of a sect or a lord of a clan entered the ground. The atmosphere was tense, anything was anticipated, and if anything goes amiss 'Front Liberation Sect' will be highly impacted and some of them deep down wanted that to happen.
Many faces sat, each with a double one.
The goal is one but if anything goes wrong then...who knows what trail they might prefer.
On the other hand, Megara stood in front of the mirror. She wore a white robe, holding onto the red ribbon in her hands, she stared at it. Caressing it between her fingers, she looked at the mirror. Depression was evident in her features, she almost looked dead. With a deep breath, she loosely tied her hair with ribbon. Grabbing her sword and her small pouch, she looked at herself for the last time in the mirror, slightly fixing the sullen expression as she ambled out of the room.
She met her disciples as soon as she walked out of her room. Anything was anticipated at the conference so she made sure she met them before leaving for the conference.
"Master."
All five of them said in unison as they bowed at her. Megara nodded, her gaze fleeted towards the little girl standing among them. She gulped and tightened her grip on the sword she was holding to make her hand stop trembling.
"I'll be leaving for the conference. Just...train hard and become strong enough to protect each other. Once I'm back...you will have to combat this time, not with each other but with me." By the time she was done speaking, she noticed all four of them gaping at her along with Luna.
"Since I haven't taught you much, you are not included but that doesn't mean you will slake around," Megara told Luna and the little one bobbed her head up and down.
"Good, then go...you don't have much time to practice," Megara commanded and with that she slowly walked away, glancing at each of them. All of them panicked and quickly turned around to go to the training ground while Helice silently stood on her spot, staring at Megara's back. Her lips wobbled...
"Master." She whispered under her whiff.
***********
The loud noise of the drums echoed in the ground by the time Zale and his masters entered. Everyone stood up in respect, and Zale bowed at each of them. Once everyone was done bowing at each other, Zale walked up to the throne while Megara stood in front of the throne, looking up at her uncle. Her arms clasped behind her back and her stance straight. The pitter-patter of the fountain behind her along with the whispers of people invaded her ears but she chose to focus on the fountain behind her.
She knew they were talking about her as she could feel their gaze on her.
Ignoring them, she slightly glided her green hues to the left side, gazing at Evenor who looked like a handsome and young fireball. Feeling her gaze on him, he slightly turned his face away from her, biting his lower lip. Megara turned her gaze away from his figure, now staring at her uncle.
She had completely gone dumb.
Her uncle stood on the throne, in front of the huge marble behind him. He wore a black robe with a crown holding his long hair up. His wrinkled yet handsome features lit up into a faint smile as he looked around. Heavy forces of guards were surrounding the ground and some were on patrol around the Sect.
Megara stepped backward, now standing beside the fountain. Her uncle began to speak but his voice was hazy to her. She was busy staring at her reflection forming on the Liquor fountain. He went on and on but Megara was zoned out until she finally realized she was zoned out.
"We all lost our people, our comrade Clans and Sects, we've lost our old friends, the martial arts world has been in Chaos ever since the current Lord Linya, Evandros Linya took over the throne. He has attained four evil stones, three more and we all will perish by that demon's claws so before he gets his hands on those three stones, let's unite together and end him...just like our ancestors united together and killed the god of demons, split his soul, making its fragments and making those fragments lay inside seven evil stones. The reason they succeeded was that they were united, let us also unite together and end the reborn evil once again." Zale said, loudly. His face was stoic and his tone was stern.
Deep down Megara knew all of this was useless, that man was unbeatable but so was the God of demons.
Everyone nodded until one of the Lords raised a question among the crowd.
"We know that the black stone is missing and now we also don't know where the red stone is. A few months back we got the news that someone infiltrated his manor and stole one of the stones. We don't know which stone they took and who they were." The man asked and everyone nodded in agreement, asking the same question briefly from Zale.
Master Shin cleared his throat, it was his duty to announce where the two stones were. He was standing beside Evenor when he stepped forward and was about to say his part but Zale interrupted him....no it wasn't Zale who interrupted him. It was someone else.
Megara's orbs dilated once a familiar voice landed on her ears. Her heartbeat fastened in a matter of seconds. She was not the only one surprised, everyone else had the same expression. They expected him to come but not this prematurely when the guards were all vigorous.
Megara's eyes glided to all the corners of the conference ground but her eyes didn't catch his figure until she heard a couple of people saying 'He's there.'
Following their gaze, she finally caught him. Her heart dropped into the pit of her stomach as she grabbed the hilt of her sword, taking it out of its scabbard with a chilly shrill sound of the metal clashing against the metal. Her gaze narrowed as she tightened her hold on the hilt of her sword.
'Let's end it.' Megara thought as her green hues stared up at him. He stood beside her uncle but with a lot of distance between them. He stood alone with a posture screaming authority, arrogance, and a sudden rush of fear which his presence alone made a shiver run down one's spine. Why was he alone? Where was his army?
Uncle Zale looked at him, his expressions were unfazed. Everyone stood up from their respective spots, taking out their swords and daggers. Everyone was gathered here to make a plan against him but now when he, himself stands before them all they can do is stare at him with fear.
Of course, he was a demon...who can't be overthrown easily...a human having such magic was a real sign of superiority.
Well, that's what others thought.
What he thinks of himself matters.
Megara gulped, her gaze diverting toward Master Shin and Evenor before she looked back at him, her heart skipped a beat when her green orbs met his black ones. He stared down at her with a hooded gaze, a taunting smirk plastered on his face. The weather was colder than ever but she felt herself sweating under his heavy gaze. Her hands trembled as she straightened her posture. Inhaling a deep breath she plastered a stoic expression on her face.
"Where are those two stones? I also want to know but you all didn't invite me. Demon or not, I'm still a part of this martial arts world, aren't I?" He asked, spreading his arms together before clasping them behind his back. "You are not invited," Zale said and took out his sword. His cold gaze made the young man sigh.
"Haa..don't be like that old man. I'm not the only bad one after all." He said, his smirk vanishing once he heard an unfamiliar voice asking him a question.
"What do you mean? You are the only one who is creating chaos because of you we lost so many of our martial arts brothers and sisters." The man said, he looked furious and had guts. Rather a lion among the gang of foxes and sheep.
"Right. I am creating chaos but why don't you see beyond me? Where are the other three stones? I'm in the front while the other one is discreetly doing everything in the shadows." Evandros said, his gaze fleeted towards Megara.
Megara couldn't help but grimace. What kind of a scheme was he scheming? Where was he pointing?
"Are you saying there is someone else behind the stones beside you?" One of the Chiefs raised a question and Evandros nodded curtly. Megara's jaw twitched when she finally realized what he was doing. They officially wanted to announce that they possessed the two stones but before they could he intruded at the right moment so now he wants to make sure he accuses them, once everyone will listen to him they won't think beyond it anymore. They won't believe them anymore.
"Who is it?" Someone asked in the crowd, an uproar rose as everyone began to question the same thing. Megara looked at her uncle who was extremely calm. She gritted her teeth together, the only thing that could trigger her like this was the fingers or peril pointing at her Sect and her disciples.
She can't even say 'If you know where they are then go there' because he is already here where the stones are.
Notwithstanding, she passed him a glare. She knew taking the stones would bring nothing but disasters to their Sect.
"Then why don't you ask her?" He asked, directly pointing at Megara. She unconsciously stepped back when everyone abruptly turned towards her. "What is he saying?" Everyone started to ask her questions. She looked at all of them before looking up at her uncle.
Why wasn't he saying anything? He just stood there, holding a sword in his hand. "What are you trying to imply?" Zale finally spoke and Evan snorted. "She possesses all the remaining three stones."He said, staring at her while his finger was still fixated on her.
"What? But we don't possess any stones. She failed to get even one of them." She heard her Sect Masters whispering things to each other. Only Evenor and Master Shin were aware of the truth. The truth of her stealing the green stone from his manor.
At the same time, the guards came rushing towards Uncle Zale, protectively surrounding him as they pointed their swords at Evandros.
Megara gulped and looked at Master Shin who had the same complex and tense expression on his face. He was always a calm person and seeing him like this almost wrecked her nerves.
What was Evandros doing?
"What is he saying, Megara?" One of the elder masters of the front liberation sect asked her, her eyes slightly widened and she snapped her head up at her uncle. "W...Why is he silent?" She whispered under her whiff while staring up at her uncle who seemed to be unaware of him possessing the stones as he was not uttering a single word against all the accusations against her.
"Why are you listening to that demon?" Master Shin immediately came to the rescue but Zale raised his hand, stopping Shin. The old man wanted to see the real faces of the people. The one who didn't want to help but was only thirsty for power.
Evenor was confused as well.
Megara tensed up even more...what was happening?
The outcome was already making sense but she didn't want to conclude.
"Do you possess the three stones?" One of the Lords asked Megara. Before Megara could answer someone else interrupted harshly at the same time the sound of thunder echoed in the sky. "What do you mean? Wasn't she also caught a long time ago trying to steal the black stone?" The man asked and now everyone turned towards her, the harsh tip of their swords facing her.
She was already accused of this thing before and now once again...she is being accused...yet again with no words to defend herself. But her uncle... What's wrong with him? Why won't he speak?
"I...did steal the stone but on----." She paused midway. If she says on her uncle's order then everyone will accuse him. He seems to be acting strangely but Master Shin and Evenor are aware of the whole situation perfectly.
She licked her lips and cleared her throat. She felt her upper body getting heavier with each passing second. "Everyone calm down. I have something to say." Zale finally spoke up. Evandros chuckled as he leaned against the marble pillar behind the stone stage. His arms folded on his chest as he stared at the chaos with utmost satisfaction. The guards were still pointing their swords at him but he could care less.
Megara looked up at her uncle.
"I have the two stones but I don't own the black stone. I was about to tell you guys but this scoundrel interrupted us. The reason I have the two stones is pretty much evident. I won't let him achieve his vicious purpose." Zale said and took out a small pouch. Megara looked at Master Shin who seemed to be slightly relaxing.
"If you had the stone, why didn't you say that before?" One of the chiefs asked in agitation. Zale put his sword back in its scabbard and turned the pouch upside down for the stones to fall on his palm but all he got was two gold coins.
Zale shook the pouch. A frown plastered on his face as he threw the coins away searching for his robe. Everyone understood by his actions that he didn't have the two stones. Where did the stones go?
"Are you playing with us, Chief Zale?" The same agitated person asked and Evandros chuckled. "Oh, Chief Zale, you are still so naive." Zale grimaced and clenched his hands in a fist. He took out his sword again pointing it at Evandros.
"Where are the stones, boy?" He rasped while staring at Evandros. Evandros smirked and once again pointed at Megara. "You trust her so much. Don't you know she was using this Sect just for her selfish purposes?" Evandros asked and everyone turned towards Megara again, including Zale.
"Check her," Evandros said in a slow yet thick tone. She tightened her grip on the sword and parted her lips together to stop all the men from lashing toward her.
"Don't move." She said and every one of them stopped excluding Master Shin, Evenor, Zale, and Evandros.
"I will check myself. Uncle, he is lying. I always did what you told me to do. Uncle, I would never do that." She said, sounding slightly desperate and her uncle nodded with a calm face, trying to calm her as well.
"I know and I trust you." He said and Megara breathed out in relief. "But still I need to remove you'll misunderstandings that he created." She said, looking towards Evandros. The still population of men stared at her, the thing she did was truly disrespectful but she didn't want anyone to chew at her skin.
She checked herself even though she knew she had no stone on her. She took out her pouch and turned it over her palm. A few heavy coins fell on her palm.
"See I don't ha----." She paused once her gaze fell on her palm. Evenor's pupils dilated along with everyone standing there including her as well but Evandros stood calmly on his feet.
The moment he waited so long for was finally here.
Not only green, not only red but black as well...she had all three stones resting on her palm.
