Tarnishing my image

Esmeralda had just finished packing the things in her hand bag. She brought out a mini makeup kit and opened up a small mirror. She began to apply the eye liner when her telephone suddenly rang. She was startled at the sudden ringing sound causing her to make an involuntary streak of eye liner down her cheek. She immediately grabbed the telephone receiver and raised it to her ear while fighting the imminent urge to throw down the receiver for it to smash into a million pieces. 

"CEO's personal assistant here." She said in the most formal voice she could muster while suppressing an anger capable of exploding with the force of an atomic bomb.

'Esmeralda, it is Dona, the receptionist' the person on the other side of the line said.

"What is it?" she said making her voice huskier.

'Did I disturb you?' 

"Dona, what is it?"
