A visit from the Queen

Kain looked at Esmeralda with a look that depicted a feeling that she couldn't explain. Kain knew that the only reason his mother was here was because he had told her about Esmeralda being the daughter of the enchantress and being under custody at the executive suite. 

"Anything wrong?" Esmeralda asked Kain noticing that he was showing off any kind of emotion whatsoever but confusion and anxiety.

"No, everything's perfect" Kain said shaking his head. "Just that whenever my mother comes to see me; all she does is get on my nerves like an annoying toddler." Kain grumbled. 

"Kain, she is your mother. That is no way to talk about your mother especially since she was the one who had brought you into this world." Esmeralda corrected him with a gasp. "Besides it can be that bad. So let's get you dressed for the day." She said and walked into the bedroom.

"I hope" Kain murmured to himself and walked into the bedroom after her.
