Adeline brought meals to the hospital at noon.

Brant was waiting on the bed. His eyes lit up immediately when he saw her.

He took over the food in her hand and murmured while eating. "Adeline, you're finally here. I'm starving to death."

This made her crack up. "If you're really hungry, you should eat in the hospital!"

"Then I'd rather starve to death!"

Adeline was speechless. She had her head lowered when Brant suddenly asked her a question, "So, how are you and Edmund lately?"

She did not expect Brant to ask her this. Quickly, she blurted, "We're fine!"

"That's good!" Brant smiled and said, "Don't hurt your relationship just because of a despicable person."

"Despicable?" Adeline looked at him helplessly. "Are you talking about Pearl?"

"Who else could it be? She was throwing a tantrum again earlier in the morning. I admit that she's pitiful, but she just wants Edmund to marry her. What a despicable woman!"

"Does she know?" Adeline frowned.

Brant nodded at her, "Yes!"
