Chapter 109  Were they kidnapped?

"Miss Hill!" Pearl stopped her again, as she handed her an invitation.

"My design company is about to open for business soon. I hope that you can be there, Miss Hill."

The gold-plated invitation was a little dazzling. Adeline did not take it. "I don't think that's necessary. I have nothing to do with Edmund anymore. You don't have to come look for me anymore."

However, Pearl caught up to her again. "This is something between you and me! What does it have to do with Edmund?"

Adeline frowned. "If it's just you and me, then it's more unnecessary, because I don't like you!"

She thought that she had made it clear, but Pearl still wasn't giving up.

Adeline frowned, subconsciously giving her a push. All of a sudden, the lights above her head went out, and her vision fell into complete darkness.

There were no windows in the backstage room where they were located, and they couldn't see anything in front of them without the lights.
