SHE WAS SPEECHLESS AT HIS ACTIONS

Lily was not happy that the dress she was so excited about wearing was now ruined in front of eyes that were eager for a hint of drama; the onlookers were blatantly looking at her, and Lily became self-conscious of herself.

Jodie must be happy with herself and proud of her handiwork, Lily thought sadly to herself.

Instantly they were bombarded by the paparazzi who wanted to take pictures of Lily in her soiled dress.

Jack took Lily's hand, directing her towards the car. 

They elbowed through the stream of reporters who were resilient taking pictures of the woman in the soiled dress.

Lily had her left hand cupped over her eyes as Jack held her right hand, he chauffeured her to the limousine.

The paparazzi were juggling each other out of the way as they tried to get more shots of them inside the limo.

In the car, the atmosphere was filled with tension. Lily wanted to shout at Jack and pour all her frustration on him but she withheld herself because she knew it was not his fault, he had no idea his ex was going to do something like that.

Jack, on the other hand, was looking for ways to punish Jodie. Not only did she pour drink on his date but she also ignored his warnings, he was going to show her the consequences of daring Jack Haden.

He ordered his driver to stop in front of a boutique.

Lily was unsure of his intention and looked at him wryly, her eyes looking at him with suspicion.

Jack scoffed at her reaction, "I am not going to bite you," he pointed to her dress, "you need to change at least."

Lily became tensed and was ready to lash out at Jack.

Jack raised his hands in surrender, "I am not looking for a fight with you, just come out already." with his hair slightly tousled by the wind, he was slightly amused.

Lily wabbled out of the car and followed Jack into the boutique.

The boutique was heavily stuck with different types of clothes, Lily was caught between which one to pick.

"You can pick as many as you want Lily, I am a rich man, Jack said simply; slightly smug about his wealth." He sat on the sofa and crossed his legs.

Lily rolled her eyes, her eyes landed on a royal blue dress, it had a short sleeve arm and was slightly short in length. She fell in love with the dress, she took it off the mannequin and quickly ran to the changing room to wear it.

"I am ready," Lily spoke to Jack as he was going through a magazine, pretending to be interested in it.

Jack heard her voice and looked up, his breath hitched as he stared at the palatable sight in front of him. The dress hugged her curves and made it obvious with her pretty face, it made the sight more appealing. He stared at her appreciatively.

Jack convinced her to pick more outfits, He brought out his card and paid for all the expenses.

As Lily was going forward to open the Limo, Jack overtook her and opened it for her.

Lily stared at him mouth-agape, she was surprised by his attitude.

"Don't look at me like that, you should close your mouth before a fly enters into it."

She closed her mouth and entered the car without saying anything.

He entered the car and sat beside her, "Lily," he called.

Lily turned to face him and she gave him her full attention, "What!"

"I am sorry, I wasn't expecting the evening to go like this. I wanted you to come and just have fun even though I know you don't have fun. But I never knew my ex was going pull a stunt like this." He spoke softly, his eyes watching her face to see her reaction.

Lily wasn't expecting Jack to apologize like this, she was speechless.
