MEETING OF THE GHOST

MEETING OF THE GHOST

Emelia turned back to George with an apologetic smile. "Sorry, George," she said, her voice tinged with regret. "That is Lily, my best friend, I want to walk home with her."

George hesitated, his disappointment still lingering, "Just enter the car and I will drive you to meet her."

Emelia smiled awkwardly, "I don't want her to see you yet, I want us to be prepared. Lily can be quite the questionnaire and I want you to be ready for her questions," Emelia explained.

George nodded, trying to be understanding. "It's okay, Emelia," he replied, though his disappointment still lingered.

"Thank you," Emelia said, opening the car door, and taking the bags and the bouquet she left in the back seat, "See you tomorrow," she said softly.

George smiled, "It is fine, have fun with your friend."

Emelia nodded her head, waved him goodbye, and ran after Lily with her heels and the items in her arms.
