Taming Death.

Book 2 is underway! In the fractured elven realm of Elysium, five clans: High, Sun, Dark, Moon, and Forest elves. They live divided by centuries old prejudice and scars from a devastating civil war. Once united, the clans now linger in distrust, their lands and cultures isolated. As a dark and ancient evil begins to stir, threatening both Etherworld, the realm of the living, and Netherworld, the land of the dead, the fragile balance between life and death is on the brink of collapse. To prevent the realm’s descent into chaos, an unprecedented marriage is arranged between the two most powerful clans. Orion, the first female high elf born in over a millennium and the physical embodiment of Nether, the god of death, is forced to wed Theo, the fiery sun elf prince tied to Ether, the god of life. Their union is a political maneuver to bridge the divide between their peoples, but it quickly becomes clear that their destiny is far greater than a mere treaty. Together, they are thrust into the heart of a prophecy that foretells the unification or destruction of Elysium. As unrest brews among the clans, Orion and Theo embark on a perilous journey to unite the elves against the rising darkness. Their path takes them through glittering courts, ancient ruins, and shadowed forests as they unravel the secrets of the gods who created their world. Along the way, they recruit allies from each of the clans and face enemies who would see their union and the realm destroyed. Confronting their own fears, the weight of their lineage, and the volatile magic they wield, Orion and Theo must not only learn to trust each other but also embrace the duality of their powers, life and death, to stand against an unimaginable evil. we are not our ancestors

Theo

The dress I saw on Rion in was astonishing. The red complemented her pink lips. The lace hugged her every curve. The slits on the dress showing her legs.

"What do you think?" She asked "I don't usually wear red, but its apart of your clans colors and I wanted to look like a member of the Sun Elf Clan."

"I might end up killing people who look to hard at you, in that dress."

"There's something wrong with you ya know?" She glared at me.

"But you like it"

I walk over to the woman, and I pay her for the dress. Rion changes back into the dress from before and the salesperson puts her new dress in a bag, and we leave the shop. We stop at a few more stalls. I notice the awful glares people are giving my little bunny. And it's starting to really piss me off. I stand closer to her wanting to shield her from them. A few months ago, if you'd told me I'd be doing this for high elf, I'd have laughed in your face. But here I am ready to kill anyone who threatens her safety. She's become my everything.

"What the f*ck do you think you're doing?" I step forward when I noticed a market guard put his hands on his sheath. Rion whips her head around when she heard me yell.

"What's the matter Theo?" She asked shocked at my sudden outburst.

"Someone here think they have the right to even question touching their sheath with the thought of using it on you." I said glaring still at the guard that pulled his hand away now

bowing his head low.

"My apologies your grace. I've just never seen her kind before." The guard said with a look of disgust on his face.

"Her kind?"

I approach the guard. "You might want to wipe that look off your face before I peel it from your skull." I growled at him.

The crowd now looking in my direction, I'll use this as an opportunity to enlighten the people here.

"Since I have all of your attention" I stated loudly "This is Princess Orion Anastasia Serrias Brimmed of the High Elf Clan Heir to Elysium. She is your future queen, and I will remind all those here that she is my wife, and you will respect her".

My words didn't fault and my tone commanded respect.

The crowd bowed low.

"You may rise" Princess Orion said to the crowd.

Orion continues walking as if nothing had happened. Her courage never wavers.

"I'm sorry about that."

"It's okay, it's honestly to be expected considering the history of my people, I can only hope they are willing to give us a chance to prove we aren't our ancestors."

We wandered before making our way to a

restaurant where we meet up with Carter and a few of my friends. I loved the food here and was excited to for Orion to try it. Walking in I see Carter and my friends at the corner booth table. I notice a lot of eyes turn to us and the

room quiet. I look back to check on Orion and she seemed so unbothered by their stares; it amazed me really. Their stares pissed me off.

"Stand and bow to your prince and princess, seems you people have forgotten your manners." Carter snapped at the room. Fumbling people stood and bowed to the me and Orion.

"You may continue" I said waving them off. Orion surprisingly returns with a nod to them. Her generosity knows no bounds.

"You have to remember people here respect strength."

"And I told you I don't need to prove my strength, I know it" Orion said matching my stare.

Stubborn woman, she was gonna be the

death of me.

We reach the table. It's a square both with two chairs facing the both. Carter moves aside to surrender his seat but I wave him off and I gesture for Orion to sit in the chair next to me, she did. There wasn't much space in the chair so she sat with her butt close against me.

F*ck she smelled so good. She looked so beautiful in her blue gown.

"Hello, I'm Princess Orion."

"Good to see you my princess, how was the market?" Carter asked me.

"Interesting to say the least" I laugh thinking about the incident with Theo, his protectiveness really excited me. I rub my hip closer his leg. Giving me low growl.

T: don't get me started, I will take you here in front of everyone on the table.

He glares at me and I match his stare.

O: you would want all of these people here to see me almost naked spread out on this table? I never saw you as the sharing the type.

T: you are really pushing it you know.

O: oh, I know.

I smirk at him.

"My princess, I'm Lord Salvatore, but you can call me Sal." He said "So whats the plan here? Are you guys doing the traditional tour or just stopping here"

"Hello m'lord yes we plan to do the tour and hope to gather allies along the way." I said.

"Do you know what's causing all this?" Another man asked suddenly changing the subject with urgency.

All 5 men stare at Theo and I.

"We will be having a council meeting later. And we will discuss what we've learned" Theo answered before me. "Now listen I am here to drink and eat and spend time with my friends, screw off with all that."

"For someone who used to take everything so seriously, its good to see so relaxed," said Sal.

I watch Theo glance at the men at the table.

"Awe come'on now, thats not entirely true, he was quite the problem child." Carter started.

"Remember when Theo wanted to be an astronomer?"

"Ha! Oh gods yes but you had no sense of direction did you Theo?" Said another man.

"You shut the hell up Jasper" Theo grinning "I had plenty sense of direction." Acting offended by their jokes.

The table starts to laugh at him, "Yeah maybe when it came to the dinning hall!" Sal said,

"remember that time you got lost in garden for like 6 hours?"

"Okay, listen, that place is a maze. Stars don't move as much as that damn garden path." Theo defended himself.

"Or that time You thought a light in the palace was the North Star, and you followed it to the stables, only to realize it wasn't the North Star?" Carter shared laughing.

"Okay, okay I'll give you that." Sal said, "he was quite the impossible one way back when."

Just then my brothers walk in, and I wave them over. They grab two standard chairs and drag them over. Arragon sitting normally at the table and Oli of course flips the chair around and leans on the back.

"Well, well, is our little sister making new friends without us." Teased Arragon.

"I have more friends than you Arragon." I snapped back.

"That I find hard to believe." Oli laughed "Arragon here makes at least two new 'friends' anywhere we go."

"You know what? You're right." I sneered looking at Arragon "my brother is much 'easier' when making friends. While I'm a bit pickier."

Oli bust out laughing. "Ha! Arragon, she called you easy."

"Princess, are these your brothers?" Sal asked curiously.

"Yes, this is Prince Oleander and Prince Arrogant, I mean Arragon" I jokingly said my brothers name wrong.

This made everyone but Arragon laugh at the table. "Ha. Ha. Ha. Very funny." He said rolling his eyes. "What's the deal with all the festivities anyways?"

"It's the lunar eclipse festival." Said Jasper.

"Isn't that a moon elf holiday?" Asked Oli

Jasper growled at his ignorance. "It's also a sun elf holiday. Does an eclipse not involve the sun?"

"Never thought about it like that. Makes sense when you it that way." Oli answered. "So, whats there to do around here on a festival night?"

"They'll be games and entertainment and music later this evening." Sal answered.

"So, I didn't get your names?" Arragon said disapprovingly.

"Wow aren't we horrible hosts." Said another elf sarcastically.

Theo shot him a glance. "Watch yourself and remember your station, Jack."

Jack straightened himself up, "my apologies my prince."

"Don't apologize to me, its them you owe it too." Theo disappointed in his friends lack of manners.

"I'm Salvatore, but you can call me Sal." said the elf with short black hair and trimmed beard.

"I'm Jasper." Jasper had light sandy blonde hair tied in ponytail around the back.

"My names Lance" he also sandy blonde hair, but he was paler than Jasper.

"Jackson." Nodded Jackson had curly brown hair like Carter.

"Jackson and Carter are brothers. Jackson is the older of the two." Then explained, "Sal is my cousin."

The conversation continued and got lighter

and easier going as time passed.

The evening was closing in and it was time to head back and change for the night's festivities. I had every intention of wearing the red dress I had gotten early today. Bedding my brothers and Theo's friends farewell we head back to the palace to get ready.
