Taming Death as a Cruel Prince

Book 2 is underway! In the fractured elven realm of Elysium, five clans: High, Sun, Dark, Moon, and Forest elves. They live divided by centuries old prejudice and scars from a devastating civil war. Once united, the clans now linger in distrust, their lands and cultures isolated. As a dark and ancient evil begins to stir, threatening both Etherworld, the realm of the living, and Netherworld, the land of the dead, the fragile balance between life and death is on the brink of collapse. To prevent the realm’s descent into chaos, an unprecedented marriage is arranged between the two most powerful clans. Orion, the first female high elf born in over a millennium and the physical embodiment of Nether, the god of death, is forced to wed Theo, the fiery sun elf prince tied to Ether, the god of life. Their union is a political maneuver to bridge the divide between their peoples, but it quickly becomes clear that their destiny is far greater than a mere treaty. Together, they are thrust into the heart of a prophecy that foretells the unification or destruction of Elysium. As unrest brews among the clans, Orion and Theo embark on a perilous journey to unite the elves against the rising darkness. Their path takes them through glittering courts, ancient ruins, and shadowed forests as they unravel the secrets of the gods who created their world. Along the way, they recruit allies from each of the clans and face enemies who would see their union and the realm destroyed. Confronting their own fears, the weight of their lineage, and the volatile magic they wield, Orion and Theo must not only learn to trust each other but also embrace the duality of their powers, life and death, to stand against an unimaginable evil. This sweeping epic unfolds against a backdrop of high stakes and rich world-building. Political intrigue, action-packed battles, and a desperate struggle for unity drive the story forward as the clans grapple with their shared history and the choices that will determine their future. The fate of Elysium hangs in the balance as Orion and Theo fight to bridge a chasm forged by war, all while standing at the precipice of an apocalypse that could consume both If you want images of the characters check out the discord! the grandmaster

"I am Grandmaster Agatha, you can call me, Grandma Aggy. I've been waiting a long time to meet the Vessel's of Nether and Ether." Grandma Aggy said. Smiling as she approached Orion and Theo.

She was wearing a a long velvet deep burgundy robe with gold etching of different runes. Her hair was long and grey with black strands still visible from her once black hair. Her face had lines you could only get from experiencing life. Her eyes a stormy grey.

"Vessel's as in plural?" Theo asked

Grandma Aggy.

"Yes boy, plural. She is the vessel of Nether the god of death. And you are the Vessel for Ether. Or are you not marked with Death?"

"No, I mean, yes I'm marked, but Rion's death."

"Could the two of you be more dense?"

Grandma Aggy complained

"Yes, now boy tell me, what's the other side of death?" Asked impatiently.

"Life?" Theo questioned.

"Yes life." She looked at him lifting an eyebrow,

 "You're shitting me?"

"Ahh I see now it clicks." Grandma Aggy said "So now that you know that lets move forward. To the next part of our agenda.

"Excuse me, no lets revisit the part where I'm the Vessel of life?" Theo said, not ready to let the discussion go. "You can't just drop that on us and not like, I don't know, explain more?

Princess Orion got a full report from The Sisters."

"And you will get one from them as well. Are you not here to discuss Nether and Ether and their relationship to Tai and Tan? Unless I'm mistaken?"

"You're not, that is why we're here, but would you mind being more explicit about it"

"The Sister's will meet with you, I don't dabble with the Gods that way. They do the story telling, I wouldn't dare, the Maiden would raise hell and I'm not trying to deal with her theatrics." Grandma Aggy said.

"You know the Sisters?" Rion asked.

"Of course I know the Sisters. I'm a Grandmaster mage. Only they can give that title." Grandma Aggy said proudly. "But to get

back to the topic you came to me for, I will summon the Sister later."

"How does one harness Tai and Tan?" Asked Rion getting back to the point now having been told they must wait for the Sisters to hear the gods plans for Theo.

"That's the question I've been waiting to answer." Grandma Aggy started "Tai is a rare energy not many can tame, taming and harnessing and wielding Tai is practically conquering death, it's necrotic magic. The magic most of us use is Tan. Tan is life using and harnessing and wielding Tan is how we are able to use elemental magic and archaic magic. As you know Princess Orion, you are the only female necromancer, women can use and practice Necrotic magic but they cannot become full fledge necromancer"

"So can I use cool magic?" Theo asked jokingly.

"Yes actually, you just happen to be more skilled in weaponry and hand to hand. Though with practice you would be cable of wielding very powerful magic items most of us mages could only dream of using." The grand mage answered "which is something both of you will need to do, you will need to practice wielding your magics and harnessing the energies weaved around you."

"Do you know where I can find these masters to help us learn to harness this magic? Where do I even begin?"

"Princess Orion, you are in luck because one of the best necromancer in Elysium lives here in the city. Queen Akio Ryuu can take you to him. And Prince Theo you can find your master in the Wood Elf clan. I can help teach you some Tan your majesty, but I'm afraid that

the I do not have the Tai to teach what you don't already know. Your abilities far surpass my, Princess Orion." Grandma continued, "Though I can teach you to use different forms of martial arts that can help you better increase your prowess for using and controlling Tai. There are many books her that are also at your disposal and all the mages here are aware if the need arises they are to provide aid as best they can."

"Excuse me Grandma Aggy, I am Prince

Arragon, Princess Orion's brother, does that invitation extend to us not just her and Prince Theo?" Arragon asked.

"Yes, Prince is does. You may graze the

knowledge our library has to offer, just take a mage with you so you don't get lost."

"Now I am very busy and I will ask you to take your leave, I will see you tomorrow before the ball."Grandma Aggy Said.

"Thank you so much Grandma Aggy for seeing us."

"Oh my sweet child, I didn't really have a choice, the sisters said they'd kill me if I didn't. But if I had the choice, I would have said yes the moment I was told the princess and prince were here"

The group gets up to leave when Grandma

Aggy asks Orion to stay behind "may I actually have a moment of your time Princess? Alone."

"Yeah Grandma Aggy of course!" Rion

answered.

After the group shut the door Grandma Aggy informed Orion "Princess, I have some questions to ask you" she paused, "How often have you entered the Netherworld, and what have you encountered their so far?"

"Well I was able to tame this ridiculously cute rabbit the last time and another time I encountered some giant Centipede looking thing. And I've been four times."

"Are you feeling better each time you go?" Grandma Aggy asked.

"Yes actually I do, I noticed it the last time I was there."Orion answered.

"It is very important you listen to me and do as I say; you have to learn to become one with Nether. Nether will completely take your body if you can't merge and you will stay behind the Netherworld. Each time you travel there you it's getting more and more familiar

becoming more and more like home. Nether will enter this world with no idea how to exist in Ether's world. Nether will bring death to this world." Grandma Aggy warned her.

"How do I merge with death? What does that even mean." Orion asked.

"It means you can enter the Netherworld at will and control your mind because Nether lives with you. You will be come Nether, no longer being the Vessel." Grandma Aggy answered.

"What does this mean for Theo?" Orion asked.

"It means he will become one with Ether, but he will not become over whelmed by Ether because they share the same plane, there is no inherent risk oh him being stuck on a different plane unleashing the first of the Gods."

"The first of the Gods?" Orion asked confused.

"I can't say more about that again that will be told to you by the Sisters, I will be summing them before the ball. They will be attending, since now they announced their existence the world, I guess the Sisters really enjoy a good party," Grandma Aggy laughed, "It's time you meet up with your friends and we can meet up later and I can have you gather magical prowess. Now off you go"

Grandma Aggy practically shoving the princess out of the room, Rion goes and meets up with her friends.
