Chapter 3: A Visit to the Town's marketplace!

One day, in the harvest season, thanks to the combined effort of me and my family toward our corps and fields, we had a great harvest, that my father was actually super impressed, so he decided to reward everyone in our family with a bunch of excess gold.

"Try not to spend it all at once" he said, while giving me a bag of 1000 golden coins!, I would normally spend them on books about magic, but at this point, I was ready to use what I learned about our local area, to actually try and make more money!

So I took the bag while saying "Thanks!" while the excitement on my eyes is visible, and without wasting any time, I parted ways with my family, and went to the Town of the kingdom.

The walk was about 3 Hours long, and when I arrived, I was greeted with the scene of water fountains, groups of nobles in shining armors, families walking together, merchants everywhere trying to sell their wares, big buildings and houses, that is the town.

For everyone that needed, or wanted to go outside the castle, a law was made stating that we needed a special license from the adventurer's guild in order to go outside.

there were however, a few requirements to qualify for a license:-

1. I needed to pay a 300 gold fees, which I can

2. I needed to be 16 years or older, I am 17

3. I needed to have at least a set of armor, and be proficient with a weapon of choice.

So my first step was to go around the merchants searching for a set of armors

I had a budget of 700 gold , in which I would need to buy armors, a weapon, and a few traveling requirements, such as food and fresh water, and healing magic stones.

So I went searching around the marketplace, talking from a merchant to the other, looking for what I needed

Most cheap offerings were a set of thick leather armor, made from the thick hide of animals that would easily block any claws or teeth from wild animals, but blades would easily pierce that.

and a Chainmail set, made from connecting together countless iron chains , its effective in blocking blades and swords, but claws and daggers would easily phase through the chains, so they might damage me if i use that.

Both were light enough and suitable for me, but the leather set costed only 300G, while the chainmail set costed 400G

There were also a few full iron armor, full malachite armor, adamantine, malachite, etc but all of these had some real big price tags that left my head spinning for a few minutes after seeing them, and likely overkill for me, since I am only going into the forest, and won't fight any monsters or demons.

Knowing what I will get into, without hesitation I bought the Leather set

And I also found a few cheap weapons along my search, an iron sword, that is a bit heavy, but might inflict some damaging wounds on the enemy, and a malachite saber, not as sharp, so its certainly weaker, but its much more lighter

There were also a few daggers, spears, long swords, and actually mage staves, but all of these were expensive for me, and likely unneeded for my purpose.

The Iron sword costed 500G, and the malachite sword costed around 300G, and knowing my budget, I got the malachite sword.

And I also found a few water canisters, and a few food container, and healing stones, so I bought all of these with the rest of the 100G

And after a few Hours of shopping, I was walking in the direction of the Adventurer's guild, with a determined look in my eyes, it was time.
