I, who was in a dreamy state thinking about where the source of the voice came from, immediately regained my senses after the man in white called out to me.
"Child, are you really okay? You suddenly lost in thought." he asked worriedly.
His expression made me realize that it wasn't a hallucination, meaning what I was hearing was real. I was stunned but I quickly nodded my head vigorously to reassure him.
"Yeah, yeah! I'm sorry! I was just imagining what you said about [Class: Explorer]" I hastily said as I tried to regain my composure and mind after hearing what he said.
"...Well that's good." The man in white replied and patted my shoulder lightly. "Now go back to where your sit is and wait until I call you."
After he said that I walked away from him. Everyone looked at me and whispered among themselves after they saw me walking and then returned to my seat and sat beside them while watching me with curious expressions, they also suddenly avoided me by moving after I sat down leaving me alone on the bench.
I was confused by that action until the familiar voice that I couldn't find the source of was heard again.
[Just ignore them.]
'Yeah, I know that. But what am I supposed to do with you?'
[What the hell does this kid mean?]
I should just pretend not to hear that voice again but unfortunately, I can't.
'I mean why the hell are you always speaking inside my mind.'
[What? Are you speaking to me?] The voice asked curiously.
'No, I'm talking to the air.'
[Oh, I see- ?! Wait?! You can hear me now?!!!] It sounded surprised.
'Of course, idiot. Do you think I'm crazy for talking to myself?' I snorted.
[You did talking with yourself most of the time. No- that not important, right now! Why do you hear my voice now?!] It sounded puzzled.
'Because I just can hear it. Now.'
[But, how? No- Why now? After goddamn 12 years?] It asked with a hint of anger in its tone of voice.
'I don't know. Wait, 12 years? What the hell are you talking about?'
[12 fucking years! I'm talking alone in this empty dark place with my own bedroom, chair, table, and my computer! Looking at a kid's life in real time!] The voice shouted angrily.
Computer? What kind of thing is that? This voice is surely a mysterious fucker. And he said he was trapped in an empty dark place looking at a kid's life? Does that mean this voice... the kid...
'Whoa! Calm yourself!' I exclaimed and then held my head in pain.
[How the hell can I calm myself after 12 fucking years of speaking alone in this dark room!] The voice shouted more angrily.
I closed my eyes and held my head in more pain because of the voice.
I stand up from the bench "Stop shouting!" I yelled out loud.
Everyone looked at me and whispered among themselves.
"Hm? Is something wrong?" The man in white asked as he turned towards me.
"Ahhh, nothing's wrong!" I quickly answered and tried to calm myself down before I spoke to him. "Sorry, I was just a bit lost in thought."
The man nodded in understanding and smiled. "Don't worry, it happens sometimes."
The man left me there and went back to his place.
As soon as I was left alone, everyone began to whisper among themselves again not because of me but another brilliant boy also gets his crystal ball shone but not bright as mine before.
"Did you see that?!" One of them said excitedly. "Did you see what the boy did?"
"Yeah, he's so cool!" Another replied with a grin.
"I wonder what kind of class that is?" A third one said with wide eyes.
"It's not fair! If only we could get a class like that..." Another one muttered sadly.
They were all looking at a blonde boy with excitement in their eyes. And then they began to talk among themselves about the things they heard earlier in their conversations with each other.
I ignored them and turned my attention toward the voice.
'So, what are you?' I asked with calm.
[You're asking me?]
'Well, yes. You're the voice that keeps on speaking inside my mind.'
[I'm... You can call me UltraJinxgamer676.]
'Progamer666?' I repeated the word as if it were a foreign language to me.
[Never mind, just call me G.]
'G? Alright, that better than before I believed.'
[Yes. I don't know what happens but from what I see after you touch the crystal you can finally hear my voice right? Then it means the crystal wants me to become your guide in exchange for "System" or maybe because of me you don't get that.]
'What?' I asked again.
I just don't understand what the hell that means. Is it supposed to be the text in the box?
'I don't see anything here,' I said with a frown.
[You've got no [System], right?]
'Right.'
[Well, if you have no [System], then there is nothing for you to interact with. That's why you hear me.]
'But how can you speak inside my mind?'
[Because I was already in here at first.]
I thought to myself, 'Why the hell should I listen to such nonsense?'
[Just think of it as an invisible companion that will follow you wherever you go and talk with you whenever you want]
'Like what? Who said I need an invisible creepy stalker!'
[I told you! Just call me your invisible companion! And it's not like I want it too!]
I don't even know what's happening, but I don't have anything better to do so I just let it be and decided to just listen.
'Ok... fine! So, what should I do now? You said you're my guide.'
[Do whatever you want but I won't tell you what to do or what not to do. I just told you that I'm your invisible companion that will always be beside you. So, you don't have to ask me to tell you what to do because it doesn't matter either way right now.]
'This fucker... What does it mean by it doesn't matter either way?' I asked confusedly.
[You heard what the man said: Traveler are wanderers. They're people who discover new lands and they are given rewards by countries that they've visited. And most importantly they explore the unknown parts of this world in search of treasures and items but most importantly they bring information from faraway lands back to their country in exchange for money and fame. You don't need to worry about war because you can go anywhere you want to anytime you want to, and you can make all kinds of choices. The only thing that I can give you is the information that I found and tell you whether you can survive or not in this world.]
"Okay. Now I know how useless you are."
[Ha! We'll see that later, who is the useless one? Well, then, what do you want to do?]
"Of course, I need to learn something before I go out and die. I mean in these 5 years from now I need to learn and train how to survive."
[That's good, it sounds like a good plan to me. But I'll be honest with you, it might be too hard to get there. But still, you should just go with the flow and see what happens, okay?]
'Why the sudden cared? And what's this about going with the flow?' I thought.
[You don't know the things happening in this world yet. Do you really want to die if you can't even survive out there after a day?]
'Yeah.' I nodded. 'Let's just go with the flow then.'
I looked around at my surroundings and saw that the people were already talking among themselves again about the blonde boy that was sitting on the other side of the bench and how cool he is.
They seem to be having fun discussing him and his [First Quest], so I decided to listen to their conversation for now.
"Hey, hey! what kind of quest you are getting? It looks so interesting!"
One of the girls asked excitedly to the boy as she waved her hand in front of him. She was wearing a white cloak which is usually worn by those who serve God and is also a sign of nobility. In fact, it is a symbol of wealth and power in this country.
"Hmm... Let me think." The boy replied calmly without turning his head. His long blond hair swayed gently when his head moved slightly up and down due to the wind that was blowing toward us.
He has a handsome face with his silver eyes and a smile that makes one fall in love at first sight. He is tall with muscular arms and shoulders and a chest that is proportional to his height and body type making it hard to tell that he is still a kid with a young and innocent face like mine.
He looks like the kind of guy that every girl would look at and wish for but that's not true at all; actually, most girls were staring at him like he was the devil himself while some of the boys were glaring at him with jealous eyes and hatred filled expressions as they watched him leave.
Well, I guess that blondie kid is the type of person who does not speak a lot. But then again, who doesn't like someone who is quiet and mysterious? It's like a forbidden fruit that everyone wants to try but no one dared to touch because they are afraid that the experience will turn into pain and regret.
A forbidden pleasure that only a few are able to feel because they are strong enough and courageous enough to go through with it. And for someone like me who's inexperienced, it's best to just watch others do it rather than doing it myself.
'Well, I just want to stay out of the way.' I thought to myself as I stared at him with interest as he continued talking.
"It's going to be a boring quest like gathering herbs and stuff..." He replied as he scratched his head. "And collecting monsters and bringing them back for training."
'Those quests aren't that exciting, but those quests are the most common ones that most [Questar] take up. That's why they are called easy quests. But he sure really is a lucky bastard who has an easy [First Quest] I wonder what kind [Class] he got?' I wondered in my head as I watched him from a distance without saying anything.
The girl with the white cloak was looking at him and smiled happily while her friends were nodding in agreement with her statement.
"Yeah, he is really lucky..." One of them said, mockingly. "I bet he's going to have a common [Class]!"
The blonde kid then turned his head and looked at them for a moment before answering with a smile.
"It named [Sword Saint]." He replied as he scratched his cheek with his pointer finger and smiled widely with a satisfied expression on his face. "It seems pretty common, huh?"
All the girls gasped at once as if they'd been struck by lightning and fell on their knees while the guys all groaned in jealousy as they looked away from him with disgust.
"What?"
"How..."
"Is he the chosen one?"
He then turned toward them and raised his eyebrows further until it almost hit his forehead in surprise. His smile widened as he stared at the girls as if he couldn't believe what he just heard.
"You are kidding right?" One of the girls asked him again with disbelief written on her face. "You just said [Sword Saint]?! Are you serious? You're telling me that you will be a [Sword Saint]?!" She asked again in shock as she stared at him blankly.
"You will be the strongest sword master ever!"
The other girls immediately agreed with her and began to cheer loudly for him as they jumped onto each other and clapped their hands in excitement.
The boys groaned in jealousy but were unable to say anything because the girls will beat them to death if they dare to open their mouths. Instead, they glared at the boy with envy in their eyes.
'I guess there's more than one class like that. And judging by how popular he is, he must have some skills, otherwise he wouldn't have made it this far.' I thought to myself as I stared at him.
[That kind of person I would like to call Protagonist candidate or Antagonist candidate.] said the voice.
'I don't understand what you mean?' I answered back.
[Antagonists are people who are against the protagonist and antagonists are characters that oppose the main character in stories]
So just like a good guy and bad guy, huh?
[Kinda like that, but what I mostly meant was that he's like the kind of person you'd hate to meet in real life.]
'Really?' I asked surprised.
[Of course! Because he's going to be a threat to everything you stand for and everything you care about! Especially to you who have no [System], you're just a stepping stone for him.]
My eyes widen in surprise upon hearing his words and I felt a shiver run down my spine.
'Wait a minute. Why am I suddenly feeling threatened? Is this voice trying to scare me? Whatever I just need to avoid that blondie.'
I shook off my thoughts and tried to ignore the voice.
