Chapter 13

After both had their fair share of make out sessions, Nie Li, Ye Ziyun and Huyan Lanruo decide to explore the place.

They walk a little distance and found some writings which read "Emperor Kong Ming's soul rests here"

Huyan Lanruo asks Nie Li "Do you know " we are going and where the exit is?"

"I don't know. All I know is that we have to head north." Nie Li says.

"Why north?" Ye Ziyun asks.

"We have to go forward and not backwards. So, we go north." Nie Li says.

"And here I was expecting an intelligent answer." Huyan Lanruo says.

"Don't worry, we can always go back if we feel there is nothing here." Nie Li says.

Nie Li is walking at the front while the two ladies were busy arguing.

After avoiding many traps, they reached a place where there were many skeletons and a coffin in the center.

Ye Ziyun asks in tears "What happened here?"

Nie Li replies "They were moved here and they starved to death."

Huyan Lanruo also had tears in her eyes. Ye Ziyun asks "Can we not take their things?"

Nie Li smiles looking at her Innocence. He replies "You have to, and grow stronger. Or else, Glory city will become another Orchid city."

Ye Ziyun also understood the importance of these things. She starts to pray while taking their things.

Nie Li walks to the coffin in the centre and places his hand on it.

A weird white light comes from the writings on the coffin.

Nie Li makes a pained expression. Seeing that, Ye Ziyun and Huyan Lanruo rush to help him but are thrown away by the force of the white light.

Nie Li noticed that it was entering his soul realm and then forced all the white light into his soul realm.

It entered his soul realm and he directly jumped from 1 star silver rank to 1star gold rank.

Nie Li was shocked when that happened. He thought 'What is this white light? I was struggling to go to 2 star silver rank but with the concentration of my soul force, my soul realm felt like a bottomless pit.

I went from 1 star bronze to 1 star silver after defeating 20 silver rank and 12 gold rank spiritualists.'

He then memorised all the writings on the coffin and then proceeded to opening it.

He found a page and some necklace. 'This locket is supposed to boost cultivation by three times and this is supposed to be a missing page of that book.

It was the Temporal demon spirit book that sent Nie Li back in time. This world sure is mysterious.'

He then went to look at Huyan Lanruo and Ye Ziyun.

Both had their clothes ripped off and had bruises at some places.

Nie Li checked them and found that their soul realm was damaged.

Since Huyan Lanruo had higher rank than Ye Ziyun, he thought to first heal her and then heal Ye Ziyun.

'I will first heal Lanruo. She can then help me heal Ye Ziyun while I search around for more things.' he thought.

He used the locket to help Huyan Lanruo heal. After a few minutes, she opened her eyes.

The first thing she noticed was that she was naked.

Nie Li was beside her, looking at the torn page of the temporal demon spirit book.

Huyan Lanruo got up and hugged Nie Li from behind.

"I guess you have recovered. Now place the necklace you have on Ye Ziyun." Nie Li says.

Huyan Lanruo does as she is told. She then again hugs Nie Li, pressing her chest against his back.

She says in his ears with a flirty tone "What did you do to me when I was unconscious?"

Huyan Lanruo was using her demon spirit's ability on Nie Li since shenmet him chasing the dark guild member.

He obviously didn't react to that. Nie Li looks at her and says "I only saw your naked body. I didn't do anything."

"Why? Did you not like what you saw?" she asked.

"Not that. It is more exciting to hear you moan than do something while you are unconscious." Nie Li says and turns to kiss her.

They kissed and then...

"I can't go on anymore. My whole body feels sore. How is your thing still standing?" Huyan Lanruo asked.

"Ye Ziyun, it's bad manners to look at people when they are having sex." Nie Li says while wearing his clothes.

Ye Ziyun woke up due to Lanruo's moans. They were loud and echoed.

"Nie Li, what are you doing? You are not supposed to do it before marriage." Ye Ziyun says.

"I am going to marry her so, it doesn't matter which happens first." Nie Li says.

He then continues "Wear clothes if you have recovered."

Nie Li then looks around to check if he didn't miss anything.

Then he noticed a small slit in the base of the coffin.

When Nie Li inspected it more, it was a secret compartment.

He opens it and found some lever, which he obviously pulled.

The wall at one end opened. It was actually a door.

Nie Li went inside and was surprised at what he found.

There was a small elevated platform, upon which was a Rubik's cube.

'A Rubik's cube? I am amazed these people came up with such simple puzzles. I wonder what would happen if I solve it.' Nie Li thought.

Lanruo and Ziyun had dressed up and arrived at the secret room.

Lanruo was still limping and had to take Ziyun's help for support.

They saw the cube and wondered what it was. They asked Nie Li and he replied "It's a puzzle. Try solving it." giving them the cube.

They tried to solve it but failed. It was a difficult puzzle but an expert would easily solve it.

Nie Li solved the cube and placed it back on the pavilion.

Then the ground near the pavilion split and a stone slab appeared from below.

It had some word writings on it. Lanruo and Ziyun didn't understand and thought it was another language of the city.

Nie Li recognized the letters and was shocked. His mind went blank.

Nie Li just stood there, staring at the stone slab.

Ziyun and Lanruo noticed Nie Li's shocked face. Ye Ziyun shook him and called out his name.

But he didn't respond. Lanruo also did the same and no response.

Only after they shook him repeatedly and shouted out his name did he snap out of it.

Ziyun and Lanruo were in tears. Nie Li smiled at them and ruffled their hair.

He then said "Can you two leave me alone in this room. I need time to organize my thoughts."

They left the room and Nie Li was alone in the room.

Asura says "You do recognize these letters don't you?"

"I told you to not look into my memories. How can I forget these letters." Nie Li says.

The letters on the stone slab were the letters Nie Li and his friend Yan Feng had created.

"These are the letters we made when we were kids. That time, we didn't want the other kids in the orphanage to know what we were talking about.

That's we exchanged diaries while writing in our own language. But, why are they here?" Nie Li said to Asura.

"Read what's written on it. We might get some clues.x Asura says.

The letters on the slab read " If you are reading this. It means my first step of my plan is successful.

I can't explain much as to why these letters are here. I was the one who sent Nie Li to the past.

You might have asked yourself these questions like 'why am I still alive' or 'what am I doing'.

You can have your revenge. I have left gifts in this world to help you grow stronger.

Then another text was written behind the slab. It read "Make the kill and receive a boon."

Asura says "What does that mean?"

"Make the kill is a pattern we made on the Rubik's cube." Nie Li says and changes the pattern of the cube.

It now had sides with an 'x' formed from the opposite colors. For example, the white side had an yellow 'x' and vice versa.

He again placed it on the pavilion and then the ground splits again and this time, a cylindrical jar appeared.

It was the size of a person's face. Nie Li looked at the contents of the jar and was shocked.

"This is.... " Nie Li said.

Outside the secret room, Ziyun and Lanruo were talking about Nie Li's expression inside.

After a while, Nie Li walked out of the secret room.

Nie Li said to them "Step back"

They did so and then, Nie Li gathered all his soul force and released a ln energy blast, destroying the room.

The blast shook the entire underground palace.

(This whole scene was very good in my head but, after writing it, it doesn't feel that good. I think I suck at writing any mystery scene.)

Ziyun and Lanruo were shocked when Nie Li did that.

Destroying a place, built by a someone who is dead, is disrespectful.

Both shouted at Nie Li "Why would you do that?"

Nie Li just stood there, looking at the destroyed room.

Everything in the room was destroyed except the stone slab.

There wanna not even a single scratch on it.

Ziyun and Lanruo also noticed the stone slab.

Nie Li stored the stone slab in his personal space.

Nie Li didn't even answer to any of their questions along the way.

Nie Li silently went in different directions while the two followed him.

After around an hour, they arrived at a room filled with many treasures.

At the same time, Chen Linjian dug up the school ground near the city Lord's mansion and arrived at the treasury.

After confirming that all three were alright, did he breathe a sigh of relief.

'If something happened to these three. I would definitely be in a difficult situation. All three are from families with great influence.' Chen Linjian thought.

He noticed that Nie Li was silent the whole time he was talking with Lanruo.

He asked Lanruo "What happened to Nie Li?"

"We don't know either. We found a secret room with some weird writings.

He walked towards Nie Linand said to him "As agreed, you can pick what you want."

Nie Li didn't answer him. He looked around and found a lamp near him. He stored the lamp in his personal space and said "Take everything else. I don't want anything."

"Are you sure you want that dirty lamp when there are these many treasures?" Chen Linjian asked.

Nie Li nodded and walked out. The rest took what they liked.

Everyone collected all the things in the underground palace and decided to return to Glory city.

Along the way, Nie Li still kept thinking about who the God of Retribution was and how was he related to his childhood friend.

'I thought that I can slowly increase my strength while enjoying a carefree life in this world.

But, I think someone has other plans for me.' Nie Li thought.

Ziyun and Lanruo were on his side. They both each hugged one of his arm.

Nie Li looked at them. Both had a concerned face.

He smiled at them and thought 'Maybe I am overreacting. All I have to do is grow stronger while also looking after my loved ones.

I can never let something happen to them. I can't bear the pain of seeing my loved ones cry.

Let's just push forward while also searching for info on this God. I think this will be more interesting than I expected.'
