Chapter - 46

I opened my eyes and found myself in an open field alone which is odd as I have never been to such places, out of habit I start observing my surroundings. The grasses chopped recently as they are looking fresh, sky is all clear that too without sun and weather seems to be pleasant. Well, this is a place where I will find true peace but at this most moment I am more worried about, why I am here and that too alone because at this time I should be in the university and attending my first lecture.

While these thoughts running inside my head, things started to change, that pleasant weather now long gone, clouds colour changed into dark grey as if a storm is about to come. I can hear the distant voices of lots wings flapping plus the sharp voices of crows but soon I started to hear them clearly as I can see them coming in my view. To safe myself I start scanning the area again in a hope that may be I can find some hut so, that I could lock myself in the door but I found nothing.

Out of sudden, my brother come walking in front of me and crows flying following him from the back as if he is some kind of king. Seeing brother, I start running towards him yelling...

Me: Run bro run!

Me: These crows will harm you, wait I am coming to you and we will run together.

While I was just about to hold him, few of the crows come down, they touched brother's shoulder with their claws and lifted him in the air. Seeing this all I do is shout loud and I repeated call out....

Me: Bro!! Bro!! Bro!!

Me: Where the hell are you taking him? Come back bro..

And to my surprise plus shock his reaction are... smiling, showing his teeth type smile.

Out of sudden everything thing turn into pitch black, not a single sound I am hearing and I keep moving in all of the directions in a hope of some kind of help I can have.

Suddenly my eyes opened with a jerk when I heard the sound of something falling, within seconds I realized, all that was a dream. Hearing, granny's groaning voice, out of instinct I get up from the bed and literally run towards the bathroom, stepping inside the washroom seeing the mug on the floor I sighed in relief. 

Granny: (Look at me with concern) Why did you wake up, I was going to pick up that mug.

Me: (While picking up that mug) No worries, you pee and I will pick it up for you .

Granny: Okay.

After keeping the mug close to her, I walk out of the washroom then sit on the bed and drink some water from my bottle while internally thanking granny for waking me up because if not that happened then I may have keep stuck up there in the nightmare. Soon granny also comes out, sit on her bed and start speaking...

Granny: What's the times Siya?

Siya: (Picking up my phone from the beside table, double tapping the screen to check the time) Its six in the morning.

Granny: Ohh I am sorry Siya to wake you up at this hour, by mistake the mug fall down.

Siya: (While keeping phone backs to its place and laying down on the bed) No problem, now lie down and try to sleep for a little while more.

Hearing this she also lay down but perhaps we both had lost our sleep because I look at her, she is muttering some prayer. Ignoring her, I start looking at the ceiling and somehow found the moving fan interesting. Just by looking at the don't know when I fall asleep, next I wake up after on hour plus thirty minutes hearing my alarm tone and this time I had deep and peaceful sleep.

As usual I leave for the university after forty five minutes eating my breakfast and reach there ten minutes before. According to time table I go down in the basement, enter inside the room where my first class will happen and unfortunately, seeing the scene in front of me I get sad because now also Carissa and Asher sitting beside each other leaving a seat for me beside Asher and one seat beside Carissa for Michiko but the thing is that she is sitting the last row beside a girl.

Well, ignoring this I walk towards the Asher and Carissa, as soon as I step close to them, both of them look at me and they both give me a smile but all I care about Asher's smile because I found her to be the genuine one. They both give me some space to enter inside the row, move towards my seat which is in the right corner. While I am settling down on my seat, lecturer too entered in the class.

Soon the attendance got over, she start teaching us but as usual I got lost inside my thoughts plus talking to mind.

Mind: Bro, Michiko is more smart. I mean look at it she literally ran away from these two and sit on the last row bench.

Me: Exactly, and look at it I am stuck with them.

Mind: By the way, that nightmare seems to be so real but what's the meaning behind it?

Me: I don't know but I got so scared at that time, I thought brother will be gone forever.

Mind: Same. You know I thought nightmares had stopped some time back but don't know why it came last night.

Me: I don't know may be I could have any book related to it or anyone could help me in understanding such issues.

A sudden vibration of my phone bring me back to reality...

Jazz: Hey babes!

Me: (Smiling) Hey wassup? How are you?

Jazz: I am good, you tell how are you? Are you free now, as I have something to tell you.

Me: Yeah sure go ahead.

Jazz: I watch a dream yesterday night, I saw a and you were struck in that and I try to save you but was unable to do so.

Me: (Surprised and shock) Wow you know I also watch a dream yesterday night... and I told her about my whole dream.

Jazz: O shit, I use to say things in joke but I guess we have some connections. I mean we face difficulties at same time.

Me: (Chuckled lightly) I agree.

Jazz: By the way what are you doing?

Me: Attending my first lecture and chatting with you.

Jazz: Haha hey are you stupid go and study, why are you wasting time like this?

Me: (Smiling) Yeah okay, will talk later.

Jazz: Okay.

After reading her last message, I kept my phone beside my notebook on the table then I look at lecturer and try to understand what she is teaching. However, I feel a small paper touching my fingers, I look it down at my finger first then look to my left and I find Asher looking at me with a raise eyebrows. I pick up the paper and read it...

Asher: All okay.

Me: (Picking up my pen I write back on it) Yes, why happened?

Asher: You were smiling while chatting with some one.

Me: O yeah that, I was talk to one of my best friend.

Asher: Okay.

After this she keep that small paper in the back of her notebook, in less then ten minutes lecture got over too. As soon as the lecturer move out of the class, students also start moving out and in the end only four of us left that is me, Carissa, Asher and Michiko. Once Carissa done packing all her stuff she move out the row, Asher followed her steps and here me & Michiko move out of the row same time but our steps halted hearing Carissa's word.

Carissa: Siya, you should have paid attention to the lecture first rather that playing games in your phone, all smiling. 

Hearing, her voice not only me but Asher too look at her with scrutinizing eyes but before anyone of us could say anything else, Michiko speaks up from the behind...

Michiko: I think whatever she wants to do, she can and she is big enough to take her own decisions and who are you to ask such questions?

Carissa: I just said this because we are friends plus I a was curious.

Asher: She was not playing game, rather she was chatting with someone. Well, leave this aside we are getting late for our next lecture let's go.

After this we silently walk towards our next lecture. The moment we reach inside the room, I come across that their are only five chairs left that too in different corners of the room and we sit accordingly. As soon as lecture got started, I again got busy with my mind in a conversation...

Mind: Why people have to be so interfering?

Me: Yeah right, I mean whatever I do or say is completely my business, why does she is asking about it. She doesn't have too.

Mind: But bro hats off to Michiko, she took a stand for you. I don't think we will be able to do it, most of the time we will be keep on thinking about it a lot rather then answering her back.

Me: Yeah true, I don't think I will have that courage to speak in front of her.

Mind: True.

Just like this whole time passes by in the university I choose not speak to anyone because I am not all in the mood to have a conversation with anyone. Today for a change all the lectures got over around three in the afternoon and I choose to leave the university early because I am literally in a sore mood today.

After bidding my goodbyes to them I leave the university, on the way to my home I drop a text Vihaa telling her I am going back to home early today as all of lectures got over. 

After reaching home I got fresh, directly walk inside the kitchen to prepare a cold coffee for me, in a less then ten minutes I come back to my room with my cup of coffee in my hand. I plug my earphones in then start listening some soothing music to calm my nerves down. Once my coffee got over, I keep the cup aside and start doing my assignments. My trance break hearing the ring of my phone...

Me: Hello

Vihaa: Please stay the night with me in my home, my father is in the hospital. He got admitted for two days, I am alone.

Me: Ohh okay, shall I bring dinner with me for you?

Vihaa: No you just come here after your dinner and my mother has already prepared a dinner for me.

Me: Okay I will be there.

After this she hang up the call, before keeping my phone aside I checked the time it's almost seven in the evening. I close the cap of my pen then keeping the assignments sheets carefully I leave the room to inform my mother about this. As I reach inside the kitchen, mother look at me for a brief second from top to bottom before speaking up...

Mother: You are still at house and not gone for walk today?

Me: Yeah actually I was completing my assignment. Well, Vihaa called and asked me to stay a night with her in house as uncle is admitted in hospital so, she is alone at home.

Mother: Ohh yeah sure no issue

Me: Okay, I will go after dinner.

Mother: Okay.

I go back in my room to plug charger to my phone then I walk inside the washroom to take a shower. Once done with the shower I wear a night dress, go out of the room to have my dinner a bit early. It took me around forty minutes, to finish all of my task that I do before going to bed and once it was done I leave for her house with small bag pack on my shoulder which has a water bottle, earphones and a pair of shorts in it.

Reaching outside of his door I ring the bell and she come out with a cigarette between her fingers (O yeah I forgot to mention, she smokes when she is worried). She opened the gate and step aside for me to enter, I settled myself on one of the couches in the living room while waiting for her to come inside and which she does after three minutes or so. As soon she settled down in front of me I asked the question which I was dreading to ask...

Me: What happened? 

Vihaa: I got a call from.......
