Life becomes easy when you have a companion, who will be with you in every moment of your life. They can be your partner, friend, siblings or in rare cases they can be your parents/family too. As for me unintentionally Vihaa becomes that for me, her light, positivity and her thinking working as a lamp in the dark valley of my mind. Whenever I feel lost and or defeated because of my nightmares, somehow the only solution that comes to my mind is to talk to Vihaa and clear all my issues.
Continued From The Last Part....
I studied, until I heard my mother's voice calling me for lunch. I unplugged my earphones and kept it on the phone which was kept beside my books, then, I closed my books and left for the dining area to have my lunch with a determined thought to talk to my mother about the feelings that I am feeling when they ignore my talks. However, the moment I reached there I found her busy talking to someone over the phone plus she is also eating her food and seeing this I sighed exhausted as I know 'today also we wont be talking.'
Keeping all this aside, I roam my eyes on the table in the hope of seeing my plate filled with food but I found nothing, I walk towards the kitchen and start serving my food on the plate. Once it's done I walk back to the dining area and sit in front of my mother and start devouring the food. A minute or two may have passed, suddenly, the mother kept her phone down and in hope of getting a reply from her I initiated the conversation with a lot of excitement..
Siya: (Excited voice) Mother I want to tell you something.
Mother: (After eating her morsel) No Siya, please let me eat my food first and one should never talk in between so, first finish your food and then we will talk about it.
And as I listened to this, I was shocked because some minutes before she was the one talking over the phone to someone while eating her food, then she doesn't care 'no talking while eating food' but look at it now. I internally rolled my eyes, but kept my mouth shut because now I know she won't be going to talk to me anymore.
As soon as my lunch got over, in a hurry I went inside the kitchen to clean them because I didn't want to miss the chance to talk to my mother. In less than three minutes I guess, I come back and sit in front of her, she is about to finish her food so, I am still excited to talk to her. The moment she finishes eating, I initiate the conversation...
Siya: Mother..
While getting up from the chair, she picks up her plates and starts walking inside the kitchen to clean the plates she speaks up..
Mother: Wait I will be right back.
And I stay back, patiently waiting for it to come back and I count every minute of it but she doesn't come outside. After waiting for likely eight minutes, I got tired and frustrated so, I got up from the chair and moved towards the kitchen to see what she was doing. The moment I reached the front of the kitchen I found her talking to someone on the phone and laughing over something, this scene killed my excitement and a thought popped up in my mind...
'I was unnecessarily feeling happy that today I would express my feelings but here she doesn't have time to even talk to them for some time.'
Without saying a word I leave the dining area with a heavy heart, I start walking towards my room though, my steps got halted as I hear Aunt calling me..
Aunt: Siya!!
Siya: Coming!
As usual I walk towards my Granny's room because Aunt usually spends most of her time here only, however, while I walk a thought pop in my mind 'to share my feelings with them' and I decided to do this because Vihaa said they are my family and they should know. I entered the room, as usual sitting at the seat near the door and when I got settled down, my Aunt initiated the conversation..
Aunt: I saw that you want to talk to your mother but at first she scolded then she ignored you and started talking to someone else on the phone. You can talk to us too, we are your family only.
Siya: Hey, it's nothing like that mom was just busy too much I guess. And yeah I just wanted to talk about that, I don't like it when people ignore me or seem to be not interested when I try to talk.
Aunt: Really! When we used to be at your age, we don't have our parents around to talk every time but we never sit idle. The main problem here is that, you have nothing to do so, you are wasting your time in thinking about all these things.
Granny: If you haven't failed your exam, then all these things won't have taken place.
And they went on and on, I spaced out and my mind started its own conversation..
Mind: (Chuckling) Done, with sharing your feelings? Rather than understanding you, see what happened, both the women started their own new nonsense.
Me: (Embarrassed) Yeah, I just thought..
Mind: (Smirking) You think that's the problem. Now what else do you want to hear from them, leave the room.
With this I come back to the present, I found them both of them looking at me curiously so, I raise my eyebrows at them and speak up..
Siya: What?
Aunt: Where you were lost?
Siya: (Lying and sincere tone) I was just thinking about the chapter that I am going to read and learn next. I will leave now to study as Vihaa would be taking a text of me tomorrow.
Granny: Yeah dear, go and study because it is really important for now.
After hearing this, I got up from the chair and moved out of the room, and started walking towards my room. The moment I enter inside the room, I lock the door and lay down on my bed all exhausted and tied because of all the efforts, my mind worked and talks. I may have fallen asleep after some time because next I wake up when I hear my father yelling my name,
Father: Siya!!!!!
Siya: (Hoarse and sleepy voice) Coming
I get up, stretch a bit to awake myself, once I get awake I look around to fetch my phone. Seeing my phone on the side table I checked the time which is seven thirty in the evening, I took a deep breath and rubbed my forehead with left hand fingers as I realized that I have slept for four hours which means no sleep in the night. However, keeping my thoughts aside I go to the washroom to get fresh, once done I walk outside the room towards the dining hall but not before plugging my phone into the charger.
I stepped inside the dining area, found my mother and father sitting there with their plates filled up with the food plus there is also another plate filled with food kept for me. I sat at the chair where the plate was kept on the table but before I could start eating my food, my father initiated the conversation..
Father: Siya, today you have to be more careful at night because Granny is not feeling well, she got infected with a urine infection so, she might be getting any time at night to pass the urine.
Siya: Okay.
Father: Don't let her fall, be careful.
Siya: Okay.
After this no one spoke up, we had our silence as soon as dinner got over I got back to my room with a water bottle. Till eleven I read a novel, then I pick up my phone, earphones and water bottle (since it has been more than a month to sleep with granny so, no more calls I need from father to alert me about my duty). Once I get settled at the bed which is inside Granny's in my room, I start searching about some online story reading apps to pass my time because I don't have enough things to watch at night.
An hour of research and I found two apps one is Wattpad and other one is Web novel, I logged in to both of them with my Gmail id but before I could explore them Granny started waking up so, I kept my phone aside and got up from the bed. She sat on the bed for ten to twenty seconds, then got up from the bed and she lost her balance a little maybe because of the sleep effect so, I helped her to stand properly and walk inside the washroom. Once she is done with peeing she comes back outside, lay down on the bed again and after this I also did the same.
And this whole process happened four different times in the night, till five in the morning and I stayed awake for the whole time reading a random werewolf story. In between I also thanked my mentally, for sleeping in the evening or else I won't be able to do my night duty. However, around five thirty in the morning I fell asleep, in the hope of spending a beautiful morning again with Vihaa.
