And So, It Is Fate

"Pardon? Um... no? I haven't."

Val replies, looking at me a bit confused.

"Fate. What I mean is, this meeting is directed by fate~"

I say with a somewhat sinister smile. 

"Is... is that right?"

"Yes. Let's talk somewhere private?"

"Oh, of course. Thank you."

Gazing silently as we take seats at a quiet table by the corner with a nice view of the garden below, I allow a smile to form on my lips.

Ah, I can't help it. I think I'm in a good mood right now. I've gotten my hands on golden geese and hidden gems before, but none have made my mouth water like having the gold serpent within my grasp like this.

Of course it all comes to nothing if I can't ensure he really does become the gold serpent in at least four years. Though it seems like as of late, I've become quite the fortunate individual.
