014 Brewing storm (4)

At the top of what looked like a clock tower there stood a man with a crow like mask. His whole silhoutte was leather brown, made of top class excellent material, he had a kaleidoscope in his hand and was sipping high quality wine.

(In a different language)

"Beta reporting, it seems like the Neandth have finally made a move against the slums, the shadow lord was seen near the western gate of the town. We couldn't trace him, but we can confirm he has weakened. He couldn't detect us whatsoever."

"Hmm, I see, what about the section 1 squadron sent to deliver the scroll to gain their trust?"

"They seemed to have perished. Including one of our kin. We lost Q55, he was a dependable guy"

"Tch pathetic bastards, to think they killed one of our own. This is why those townsfolk are absolutely useless. Omega never listens"

"Should I send someone from the ranks or do you want me to go, if I go I could finish off this whole nuisance by the night"

"No, his decision is final. He has decided against taking action directly whatsoever. We can only provide indirect help. Keep being the onlooker. In case anything escalates retrieve the red pearl from these neandth townsfolk and erase any evidence, anything else?"

"Right, I forgot. It seems that the ice princess is helping the shadow lord. Even the berserker is with them. It's going to be difficult to know If they truly possess the blue pearl or not. And I suggest that I kill Nara the wicked. She's grown too strong she might become a nuisance for us"

"If that's the case, we shall see when the time comes. Don't anger me. WE ARE NOT GOING TO TAKE ACTION."

"Understood, Beta signing off"

"Sigma signing off"

Beep...

"Haa how troublesome, hope these guys don't mess it up."

I was currently sitting inside the gathering hall like last time with the bag and a few rusted black mithril blades.

"Hmm, so you're telling me, you went back to that place because of some abnormalities. That's strange. Klein, how did you miss such a huge bag and just come back like that." Jon asked.

"There's no way I would've missed if it was sitting in plain sight like that. I don't think I even saw that bag" he said confused.

Jon rubbing his beard and began to ponder.

"Maybe he was using some sort of an artifact. A concealing one, it's just a possiblity"

"So you think he run out of mana supplying to the artifact as he-"

""Died, yes that's precisely it"" Nara and Klein said togeather.

For a moment they looked into each other's eyes and Nara turned her head away with a slight 'hmph',

'Oi,oi,oi...don't tell me Nara is tsundere type or something.' I thought chuckling inwardly.

I was gonna Tease the shit out of her with this.

Jon then carefully opened the bag, looking into the contents. There were few silver coins, a compass and 10 gold bars.

This was kept on the surface as below the bars there was a map with two red cross marks and two rings.

For starters, it would seem it was normal. The rings might be for their family or maybe they just stole them, but the way Jon's face lit me, appealed something else.

"It's a dimensional storage. Looks your tiny endeavor indeed brought some fruit."

He quickly wore the rings and pulled something out from thin air.

It looked like a quill, intrigued he snapped his finger. Suddenly all the contents in the ring, fell on the floor, revealing a horde of evidences behind.

"Haa, looks like these guys were idiots. They probably lacked any sort of spying skills, to think they would store their own game plan so easily" Jon laughed thinking about it.

'What, the whole game plan? Did he just say that he finally solved this weird tension in the slums. No, that can't be true. Somethings weird.'

"....No, NO. Something just doesn't add up. Like you said they might've lacked in terms of spying, but what if they were just message deliverers. Why would they place such an excellent plan ; 'written', on the hands of a novice. Don't you think it might be to misguide us??" I asked slightly confused by his dumbness.

"Ha...hahahahaha, Novice or not, doesn't matter to me. But looks like our boy thinks better than most of us in here" he said with a contagious laugh.

I was dumbfounded. The fact that the whole crew was dumb cringed me hard. After all they were from the slums, you shouldn't expect anything intellectual other than sheer brute force. They were muscle daddies for a reason.

"Uncle Jon, it's best stay cautioned at all sides. And I also wanted to talk to you about another matter. This one is a bit more serious." I said finally bringing the dish to the table.

My expression was serious, devoid of any playfulness one would expect over an eight year old.

"We found a hidden door too",

....

It took a while to explain everything we had seen but it was done nevertheless.

As I thought, the situation was quite tense. Jon sent Klein and Nara to see what was going on and eliminate all potential threats for the community.

What did we do??

We went back to our respective trainings after getting some sleep.

Right now neither of us were in any mood to work out, so we just hit the bed.

Either way, after nearly sleeping for half of the day, I woke up and my thoughts began lingering towards my training.

In the few months Nara trained me, I began to get so devoted that I started to develop a withdrawal mechanism if I don't train for more than a day.

(Refering to the mechanism alc*holics or d*ug addicts get without regular injection of d*ugs. Here he's referring to training, how's the writing flow, pretty awesome isn't it??)

My body begins to draw itself to train. Putting extreme pressure. Now I finally know how people with body dysmorphia feel.

Either way, I swiftly practiced my sword techniques utilizing every Fibre of my muscle, and finally sat down to test my newfound mana abilities, and also if I could discover more of them..
