Talented necromancer

In the world of Harcanos, there is a man who just recieved his class. One forbidden by those upstairs; a Necromancer. Beyern, no last name, will now use this class and his talent, long left buried, to catch up, and even surpass, those with a head-start, squeezing every drop of talent he can. ---- Talented necromancer is the story of Beyern, now please note, I did not say; ‘Beyern and friends’. This is about ‘Beyern’, and him alone, no matter if he has friends or slaves. The journey of Beyern is not over the flick of a switch, it’s not that one day he’s the loser on everyone’s mind, the next he’s the most powerful person to ever live. Basically; ‘This is progression fantasy, but with only a small pinch of litrpg’ -Due to irl time constraints, this novel is currently paused.

Quanta, of knowledge and merchantry

The mages' guild, made by the mages of old coming together to resist outside pressures, why? Because the churches of the time were getting a little too powerful for their liking, and there had been no counter balance.

So the mages' guild was made to protect mages from other large forces, but where does all the money that they need to run the guild- and line the pockets of the brass- Come from?

Easy, the mage's guild enjoys the luxury of being a sort of 'Mage broker'. Of course, outside of the mages' guild, there are still a bunch of mages out and about looking for work for a bit more than the 3/4ths of what the guild wants, since that's more than what they get doing jobs through the guild.

But, unless you're poor, or have a good bit of time, or want to keep it a secret that you hired a mage, you go to the mages' guild for your own ease.

Now, there were ways to not have give that 25% brokerage fee, one was to have connections with the Quanta church- Since they were a large business partner of the guild, and messing with them would lower revenue by at least 10%.- If he got in, he'd have to pay only a 15% fee.

Now, you may wonder, why won't Beyern just go rogue and make money in a responsible way, like robbery?

Simple, he could get caught.

And that free-lancer mage work? That took connections, or a lot of time, to set up. Time that Beyern would rather put into creating an undead legion.

He was no chronomancer, though he'd love to be one, but moromancy would probably be the first real school of magic he'd learn after necromancy, since necromancy was a more specialized version of moromancy.

So, he, of course, had to get that sweet 10% back from the guild by becoming a member of the Quanta church. Now, you might be wondering, if there were such a deal, why wasn't everyone a part of the Quanta church?

Well, the [Sense faith] skill, had a way of telling how faithful one was to a priest's god in numerical form. For Cercil it'd need to be a score of '30', which was not easy to get. You weren't just going to go 'Huh, now that I think about it, Cercil is cool' and meet the requirement.

You get around a '40' if you've been told since young that a god was the best ever, and all that, since children are inherently gullible due to the fact they litterally can't live without the support of a parent, but who knows which one of the gods is the 'Best god'. They all seem pretty equal in power outside of their church.

Beyern was only able to get past that with a bit of training when he was a good bit younger, and the ability to ignore his own fear for benefit.

He walked into the Quanta church branch of this particular city, with a piece of silver in his pocket, and a respect and fear for Quanta in his mind.

This place was not a cathedral, it looked more like a giant store, a miracle of merchantry. Though there were also free spaces where people were argueing semantics and writing on scrolls with ink.

Beyern was honestly in quite a great mood, he had taken his time to renovate the gate a few more times in the last few days, and he had increased the mastery of {Mana-packing} and {Mana-shaping} by a single star.

You could see two more bags on his belt, and yes, he had bought them for gallbladder space. He had become very proficient in the slaying of Beyklir, their pattern was so simple! Just stand more than 10 meters away, and it leaps at you in a manner where you just need to pierce it's neck to keep yourself safe!

He walked to one of the counters, with a female receptionist, without saying anything he took out the silver "This is where you get ordained, yes?"

The woman's eye suddenly focused on the glint of silver, and instantly snatched it "Yes, sir, you're right on time, you can get ordained immeadiately. I'll call the priest right away!"

Beyern nodded with a small smile, the Quanta church cared the least about picking up someone from another church, as long as you payed, and had enough faith.

When you were ordained by two different gods, you could hide them through the effect of a title. You'll understand when the priest comes.

He yawned slightly while putting in more focus into increasing his condensed mana ring's mana density.

After a bit of forcing 1 mana of volume into the size of 0.99 mana in volume- Remember, volume, not amount- The woman who had left came back with a woman in the priestly robes of the Quanta church "Sir, please follow me- Oh, it's rare to see someone from the church of order, well please follow me."

A priest or paladin from any church could innately tell if you're from a church, and it's quite hard for him to get ordained by every church if a priest from the god of chaos and war knows your all cozy with the god of order and light.

Beyern smirked slightly, as he walked confidently behind the priest, his eyes arrogantly parsing through the halls.

It was obvious what they took him for, a rich believer of Cercil, who didn't want to get noticed, so he put on clothes of the less fortunate. And Beyern wasn't one to deprive them of their sweet fantasy.

He once again entered through a door, opening to a somewhat luxurious room. Beyern faked no movements of suprise or shock, since that wasn't suitable to the act he had decided to put on.

Quanta took 50 bronze, not one silver. You'd only use a silver if you were well off enough to not care, or if you wanted to like you didn't care.

He gave the woman his hand, after which, their hands shown in a dark-ish blue light, she nodded quickly and said "Child of man, you have faith, value our principles, and you embody our values. Do you accept?"

===

You have been ordained as a member of the Quanta church, this is, although not easy to do so, a reverseable process.

Do you accept?

===

Due to your achievement of being ordained by multiple faiths, doing something few can do, you have gained the title; 'Interreligious'.

===

Beyern accepted with a smile "And that is all, I presume?" Expecting her to give him something.

"Just one thing," The woman said while rummaging through her priestly gowns, taking out a pin "It's enchanted with a bit of divine power, to the point that even normal ordained can feel it if they focused. Please use this as proof of being a part of the church when not in the presence of a paladin or priest."

It was made of bronze, though he did not know the ratio of tin and copper, he could feel a mysterious power attached to the pin. Beyern took it without a second thought, he knew enough about the Quanta church to know this wasn't some scam.

He threw it in his pocket casually "I wish you a wonderful day... Mother?"

"You can just call us by our class." She said with a slight feeling of... More like a tinge of, embarressment.

"Then I hope you a profitable day, priest." He said, leaving the room, and retracing his steps, quickly passing through.

He let out a small smirk, now, he had initiated into two churches, and that was great, two back-ups in case necromancy failed him, and two available partners.

After this, it was going to be a good bit more annoying to get ordained by the other churches, except the one from Quytza, all he had to do was find a priest and show that he had faith for Quytza, and he'd automatically do his best to get him to accept it.

Priests of Quytza are not made, but born. Their original class being priest, so they don't really hold that much faith in him, and with their total lack of church, or stable religious indentity, there aren't that many ways to increase their rank.

Any facet that could increase their rank or skill levels in any significant manner was as rare as a halo fragment.

To be ordained by a priest, is to be marked by their god. The title 'Interreligious', allows one to hide those marks from priests not of that deity's church. Meaning if a Xenxilir priest went outside, he wouldn't be able to realize I had Cercil's blessing while I was walking around as a rich guy with Quanta's blessing, but a Cercil priest could.

So he would obviously only show Quanta's blessing, since Cercil didn't have the best relations with other churches, and who didn't want to be a friend with the status symbol of being a member of the Quanta church, the one which is all about making money, or being smart.

Next was... Zankret, god of steel and magic.
