chapter 1

Lucious had always dreamed of working for a top-rated company. He had spent months searching for the right opportunity, browsing job boards and sending out resumes. Every time he received a rejection email, he felt a twinge of disappointment, but he refused to give up. He knew that his determination would eventually pay off.

Finally, after numerous interviews and rejections, Lucious received an offer from a well-known corporation. He was over the moon with excitement. This was the chance he had been waiting for, and he was determined to make the most of it.

On the day of his first job, Lucious woke up early, feeling a mix of nervousness and anticipation. He put on his best suit, grabbed his briefcase, and left his apartment. As he walked towards the subway station, he couldn't help but wonder what the day had in store for him. He had no idea what to expect, but he was eager to start his new journey.

Lucious knew that this job could be the stepping stone he needed to achieve his dreams. He had always been ambitious, but he had struggled to find the right opportunity to showcase his skills. Now, he was ready to prove himself to his new employer and show them that he was capable of great things.

When Lucious arrived at the company's headquarters, he was amazed by its grandeur. The building was tall and sleek, with shiny glass windows that reflected the morning sun. He felt a little intimidated by the size of the place, but he knew he had to keep his head up and be confident.

He entered the lobby and approached the receptionist. "Hi, I'm Lucious, and I'm here for my first day on the job," he said, trying to sound professional.

The receptionist smiled at him and handed him a badge. "Welcome to the team, Lucious. Your supervisor is waiting for you on the 20th floor. You can take the elevator on the right."

Lucious thanked her and made his way to the elevator. As he waited for it to arrive, he took a deep breath and reminded himself of his goals. He was determined to make the most of this opportunity and show everyone what he was capable of.

When the elevator doors opened, Lucious stepped out onto the 20th floor. The first thing he noticed was how quiet it was. He could hear the sound of typing and the occasional phone call, but other than that, the place seemed deserted.

He approached the reception desk and introduced himself to the receptionist. She gave him a warm smile and directed him to his supervisor's office.

Lucious knocked on the door and heard a voice say, "Come in."

He opened the door and saw a middle-aged man sitting behind a desk. "Hello, Lucious. Welcome to the team. I'm your supervisor, Mr. Johnson," the man said, extending his hand.

Lucious shook his hand and sat down on the chair in front of the desk.

"Your first task is to analyze the sales data from last quarter and prepare a report for our upcoming meeting with the CEO. You have two days to complete it. Do you have any questions?" Mr. Johnson asked.

Lucious felt a little overwhelmed by the task, but he nodded confidently. "No, sir. I'll get right on it," he said.

For the next two days, Lucious worked tirelessly on the sales report. He spent long hours analyzing the data, creating charts and graphs, and writing up the findings. He barely took any breaks, and he skipped lunch on both days.

As the deadline approached, Lucious began to doubt his abilities. He felt like he was in over his head and that he wouldn't be able to finish the report on time. But he refused to give up. He reminded himself of his goals and pushed himself to keep going.

Finally, after two days of hard work, Lucious completed the report. He printed it out and walked to Mr. Johnson's office to deliver it.

Mr. Johnson was on the phone when Lucious entered his office. He motioned for Lucious to wait while he finished the call. Lucious stood nervously, holding the report in.
