Chapter 75: The Master Table.

Natalina cannot understand why was Ophir's answer correct back then. What does it mean to have a unhatched eagle's egg? Natalina made her way to the first floor and inquired for books about eagle's. The colorful prints had helped her understand about eagles.

According to the books eagles are predators by nature. And eagles have the tendency to eat and kill it's own egg. By that line alone, is the owner of the diary got devoured by her own mother?

Natalina brushed off the thought and focused more on the assignment given to them.

It's been long since the Tale Bearers have gathered within the library. Their latest journey was horrific. Aside from the occult on the way they have dealt with dead pooled with blood. The living room was noisy with Nevi and Hexel playing cards. The library got occupied by Lehi and Natalina. Lila is having a quarrel with Kiel while Ophir is having a meeting with Cyrus at the main Palace. Urchin is playing with Mem, indeed a sight that rarely happens within Myrrh Cinnamon.

Eyel Bonnie smiled at the sight. This will be a rare occasion where she would use the master table within the palace. She is currently monitoring the meals to be served. Her job as the Palace Maid is to make sure that every concern are dealt.

Eyel would get anxious whenever the team gets back with someone missing. She would put on a mask that everything will be alright. But deep within, she felt her heart will not be able to hold on and that any moment her heart would nervously break down. A full pledge servant could only didicate her loyalty and life to her or his master. In her case the Tale Bearers are the subject of her service. She would get amazed and amused when they started to fight as one but the weariness will continue to pitter patter her heart. She would paced around waiting for her masters to come home. She would breath in relief when she started to serve the tea and snacks.

Eyel Bonnie was grateful to the Lorelei household who helped her when their port was sold to an evil noble. It was thanks to the late head of Lehi's family that she was able to grow side by side with Lehi. Her face during childhood was blurry and hazy but Eyel believed that it will get clear once the time is right.

Eyel just wiped the table and put on a silver and greenish cloth to make the dinning presentable. She arranged the incantation flower by the table and lined up all the utensils. She checked the numbers of each if it's alright. Eyel made her way toward the kitchen and had the food served. Today, Eyel went all out, she requested the chef to cook each person's favorite food.

After the dinner the ladies would help her wash the dishes and clean the table. There are times that Eyel like to watch each person within the palace especially when Lehi and Ophir would start acting like spoiled rotten toward each other. Eyel just giggles whenever Urchin would run around as he plays.

The worst moment was when the master table got empty for too long but Eyel would wipe it clean each day, even if her masters are away to an assignment for a month. It's when Mem, Novena and herself would occupy the huge place with their tiny boundaries. Eyel smiled when the empty table reflected her face. It would be long for this table to accommodate her masters who went for an assignment outside El Oathniel and to the opposite direction of Capital Ascents.

Whenever the Tale Bearers are away for assignments. The King would summon the three to aid the Queen. Eyel observed how affectionate and transparent Cyrus was toward the Queen. There are moments she would accidentally witness them having their sweet time and nanosecond intimacy. Eyel even witnessed the King click his tongue whenever some nobles would check the Queen. He would glare from his throne to the point that he will bore a hole to the person's head.

This are one of the jiffy that she needed to excuse herself despite being summoned. Because the King is currently wagging his tail unto the Queen who had her eye brow raised. Eyel does not wish to interrupt such moment where the King would eventually shoo her away.

Eyel just left her delivered snack behind doors and whenever she collected it, The King and Queen had thoroughly enjoyed it. She would push the cart and would let the Palace maids do their job.

There are instants where Novena would suddenly disappear and she can't grasp where might she be. Eyel would have inquired at every person within the palace but will not be able to find her in the end Eyel will suddenly spot her where she last saw Novena.

Eyel had seen Mem scold Ophir at times and would lecture him like a father reading a volume of book and Ophir will just scratch his ears and would nod and shrug at him. Mem will just yell at his master and would nag him to no end. Even Cyrus who was feared by anyone who met his gaze experienced Mem's sermon and scolding.

Eyel can understand Mem's sentiment as a slave and knight. Mem's scolding means he is seriously worried. The surprising fact is... Mem is capable to defend the whole Myrhh Cinnamon Library. He is a knight with royal bloodline and noble character. Mem Clavi's origin are from warriors who fought side by side with the King.

According to El Oathniel history Mem's father is the King's first ever knight. Sadly the Knight got struck by a lightning around his household that caused a ruckus within the Kingdom because the second struck had restored the knight's body that was supposed to be splitted in half. The Historical Knight is currently on a quest. Ever since the Royal Aid got Founded the Knight went to a adventure.
