Chapter 222: Mislead Disaster

The window invited Tera's body to fall on a cliff. Tera did not wish to fall from a pit where it's destination is unseen. Tera removed her sandal and contradict the motion of the falling carrige by running toward the door and was about to push it but the heavy weight of the carraige and the horse's drastical and irratic movement had the duchess be consumed by the endless space. Tera's extended hand gripped a gaseous atmosphere as her breath got caught unto a sinking loomness.

Cyrus was surprised when he heared the report. He personally visited the Myrrh Cinnamon to inform the Tale Bearers who are about to have their dinner.

"Finish your dinner now. Lila open a portal at the Fulwed route. The Duchess' carraige fell on the cliff."

Hexel was shocked to hear the news. He was just sharing a warm tea with his mother. Lila directed her portal toward Fulwed and found the flaming carraige at the bottom. Hexel did not even wait for Lila to open another portal. Due to his adrenaline rush he stride down the cliff. The flame was so strong that it prevented Hexel to approach near the incident's proximity.

Kiel used his rod to summon a fair amount of water.

"Lord God who had us in his palm. Maximize what is in Our hands. For you are the only one who can use it where it does not make sense. Because I believe that you are the God of unusual miracles. Amen.

The water damp the fire that produces a thick smoke. Hexel dive in with Nevi to check on the duchess but found the carraige empty.

"We got her sandals in coal. Let's hope that she is somewhere else alive." Nevi announced.

"Let's split up. Hexel and Nevi go through the cliff wall. Kiel and Lila take the north. Lehi and I will take the south. Ain and Cyprus should take the east." Ophir commanded.

The area looked like an abandon site. Kiel and Lila moved toward the northern part. It was rocky the place is barren. There was no plants nor river on it. The concreted mass of stone and promontory lead them toward a unsolicited solid area.

"Let's get back. There was no trace of the duchess moving unto here." Kiel pronounced.

Lila nodded. The rocky area appeared untouched. If ever the duchess ventured on it they could have seen a footstep or ashes. But their direction smelled like a virgin. They are the first one to get in that site.

Hexel and Nevi flight to study if the Duchess had any sign of holding on or any sign from the duchess but they only found her medical box. Hexel frowned to see the case slightly trampled. Nevi withdraw his altitude and decided to descend to examine the remains from the carraige.

Ain and Cyprus advances toward the east and only found a lot of wild plants.

"This plants are herbs I say. I bet the duchess would be glad to spot this if she did not meet any of this incident." Ain remarked.

Cyprus can't argue nor protest with what Ain said.

"Let's take some. It might help her when her whereabouts will be found."

The two started to gather some herbs.

The greasy leaves and white pollen got cut off from it's root.

"Pluck it out with the roots. Tera can maximize the whole herbs." Cyprus instructed.

Ain just mentally noted that this is not their main goal.

Ophir and Lehi did not step away that far from the venue when their faces got hit with a dead end. It was a pointless walk. Ophir can also tell that the duchess won't be in the area. His ears could have caught it if she was on the boundary.

"Let's go back to meet up with the others. She is not here." Ophir ordered.

The team gathered and went back at Myrhh Cinnamon.

"Let's resume tomorrow. Trust us. Tera won't be taken down easily. Have some sleep. And Hexel, your father is in the palace. Come with me." Cyrus wrapped up.

Hexel silently followed the King's back. His every step got heavier by the time he viewed his father's facade. He is the Duke. The well known Chocolate Knight who won thousand of wars with the King and the Duchess. When the older version of himself meetbhis gaze. Hexel's lips quivered. He does not know how to face his father.

"Your Highness, I have heared about the incident. Our Knights have operated in a thorough search. And we are able to acquire about the infection. My wife is in the house resting. She was able to tappen me in. I requested my son to hand this file of papers." Duke Bowden stated.

Hexel reviewed the paper and read it as he stated.

"Father, this are her research for the herbal medicine to nullify the infection."

"Yes, your mother want me to tell you that you need to work on it. The source of the virus is still unknown. That is why you need to materialize it with Evi and Lehi." The duke delivered.

"And your mother also want me to tell you that it was fine. You don't need to blame yourself." The Duke said as he advance toward the Palace's exit.

Hexel bowed his head. His mother was requesting if he can go home with her a while ago. Hexel bluntly refused it not knowing that his mother's carriage might be in great danger. Hexel never realized that his no toward his parents were fatal. If only he agreed to ride home with his mother. She won't have to go through such incident. Tera could have been active in finalising the medicine. Hexel focused his lenses on the papers that were personally written by his mother.

Tera breathed when she opened her eyes. She was able to pray and apply her gift before she got dragged in from the bottom. Tera got greatly injured when she tried to protect the infected horse. In the end it was her dear husband who came to rescue her state.
