Gates followed the armored knight diligently, his thoughts still lingering on the cadences of constructive nightmares he had fought. If Amon had such potential, it meant that the author had deliberately written the character's death to avoid the past from repeating itself. Or perhaps "They" did it themselves, Gates mused quietly, a sudden realization dawning on him about something deeper regarding this novel, no, this world.
"Silence," the armored knight commanded, turning to fix Gates with a menacing gaze. Gates nodded casually, motioning with his hands for the knight to continue. After a few more seconds of glaring, the knight resumed walking, moving with purpose through the maze-like place. Each door they passed led to more hallways, each with its own unique season and zone. Time itself seemed different here.
