Too Late

Saito walks into the room and Kai grabs his backpack. "You're late dude." Saito apologises before they get going meeting Ken at the airport.

"Ken this is a new low even for you, a band of teenagers are the so-called team of elites you mentioned?"

"When we went there all the adults were plagued with the so-called illness she needs a cure for. Yuno is 20 so I'm not sure if it'll affect her too, but it definitely affected us I can't send anyone but a bunch of teens."

The small group stops in front of Ken who rolls his eyes and pretends to not see the disguised Roku who's tagging along.

"24 hours in and out destroy the whole place if you have to and don't forget that Xavier is there. Saito you're the only one who can find him so you'll grab yourself a partner and he's under your care.

"Yuno could be anywhere on that island and expect anything in that place, it's built like a fortress once you're in good luck getting out."

"You suck at motivational speeches." The nervous Saito states and they all chuckle grabbing their things walking past Ken who gets irritated by Roku for leaving and tagging along he's needed here as far as Ken is concerned.

"Ackerman where's Hitori?"

Roku's bag giggles and everyone's heads turn.

"How the hell did you pass the check point with a whole toddler in your bag?" Setsuno asks cocking a brow surprised because he was behind Roku the entire time and didn't suspect a thing.

"That's what I'd like to know?" Ken comments glaring at Roku opening his bag and Tori pretends to be sleeping while Snow gets out for air.

If he could talk he'd probably give them an earful about shoving him in a bag he's sick of it.

"Sir, your flights ready."

Everyone gets on the plane and Tori waves goodbye surprising Ackerman who expected him to chase after Kai as they boarded. "Did you brain wash him or something Ken?"

Tori yawns while Snow finds his own way back to the car. A little boy wonders off following Snow while his parents are still thinking about which vacation spot they want to go to.

They won a voucher to travel to any place they want to go to, but all the flights to Musha Cay were cancelled so they need to rethink their choice.

"It wouldn't have been safe for a toddler anyway it's nothing but a jungle now nothing like what it used to look like in the 2000s."

Tori wiggles out of Ken's arms and runs behind the boy he saw following Snow.

Ken follows behind him surprised by his speed.

"Ken you might want to hurry up." Ackerman rolls his eyes as Ken takes a stroll while Tori chases the boy holding Snow. "Woah, kids fast." Ackerman says watching Tori chase the boy who's so fast they only thing they see is a blur that stays behind when he runs.

Tori screams and Snow freezes the boy in his tracks before getting off and going to the car. Ken takes the boy and grabs Tori glaring at him, "I sorry." Tori apologises and a single tear drops.

Ken sighs and carries them both. "Hey, where did this one run off from?" Ackerman takes the boy and carries him looking for his parents. "What's your name?"

"Speedy."

"Nice to meet you speedy I'm Rex. You have a super cool ability."

"Speedy? Come on man you can't go running off like that buddy. We've decided to go to Rio it's great this time of year."

Speedy turns around and Ken is walking towards Speedy's parents holding Tori who's glaring at him.

"I'm telling your mother about this Hitori." Tori gasps in disbelief and rests his small hands on his cheeks pecking his lips. "I love you Ken, you're the best." He tugs at Ken's cheeks smiling. "That only works when Yuno does it, you're grounded."

"Grounded?" Tori cocks his heard to the side confused.

"Yes, no Snow for a week you don't see him you don't get near him you don't eat with him, sleep with him none of that. He's grounded too and will spend a week with Kim."

Everyone's attention turns to the angry Tori growling at Ken who growls back.

"That's my final decision Hitori."

Tori's fangs start to secrete a liquid that freezes Ken's arm upon impact with his shirt. Ken looks Tori in the eyes.

Ackerman cocks a brow looking between Ken and Tori, "I'm guessing from the look in your eyes that's something new."

"Rex now's not the time for your smart mouth get to Kim."

Roku yawns as they get off the plane while Setsuno collects samples of the soil here. "This soil is fertile and smooth it's so cool. Roku you're staying behind to be our beacon when we have to leave hold on to this."

Roku nods as the boys leave. "I'm picking up on vibrations from the trees going that way I think it's towards the volcano and I can't pick up on anything it's too quiet." Setsuno says sensing the vibrations of the trees and soil.

"Xavier is in that direction I can feel him I smell Yuno in the opposite direction." Saito states

"Alright, I'll go with Saito after Xavier you guys go after Yuno Roku if we're not out in 10 hours flatten this entire mountain if you have to." Kai states and Roku nods stretching hanging by a tree waving them off.

Saito and Kai run up the mountain heading west while Setsuno and Rex take the east.

Luna looks surprised when Yuno wakes up she's supposed to be sleeping like everyone else she goes outside and glares at the three sisters who are helping her.

"Hey, why the hell is she awake? I need all her blood and I can't get it when she's awake."

"It's time for all the children to go to the volcano and she requested we bring her as well."

"Yuno is 20 she doesn't count."

"Unborn children count."

Yuno leaves the tent and yawns, "Hi." Yuno smiles at the three ladies next to Luna giving her bright smiles like they've known each other for years.

"Yuno, you're so much more beautiful in person see." The Nymph sister holds up a portrait of Yuno she drew weeks ago for Luna.

"I'm Nylon a Nymph, the blonde is my sister Poly and no it's not short for Polyester she's a fairy and last but not least our big sister Gwen she's a Pixie. We're surprised you came so early Tachibana was supposed to bring you next month so unexpected."

"You can see into the future?"

"Not really, but sort off. Now hurry up we'll be late."

Yuno smiles and follows the three sisters while Luna groans surprised they are taking a wrong turn.

"We have two more guests heading the wrong way hold on please."

"I've never flown on a broom before or a branch in this case." Yuno looks confused.

"Oh, this is the only way to travel around here due to lack of roads and poison plants down below your best option is to fly or branch jumping."

Yuno nods as the three sisters fly and grab Rex and Setsuno. Yuno looks surprised to see them and groans. "Let me guess, Ken."

"We're here to rescue you before Charles uses your blood and the two stones she stole to open a breach in the prison world."

"She stole the second stone? Where are we going exactly? Are we going to stop her?" Yuno notices that Nylon is the chatty one the other two haven't spoken a word since she met them.

Granted it's only been 5 minutes and counting, and flying on a branch looks like it needs total concentration she is very curious what their voices sound like.

"It's too late to stop her, but we managed to give her enough blood to open a breach rather than let the whole thing collapse you only have a short window to take back the stones and run, wise choice letting the Luxar stay back you'll have good odds for escaping."

"Your choice of words doesn't say we're guaranteed to get out of here." Rex states and Nylon nods.

"Anything can happen here the minute she opens a crack we don't know how long it will be open, but we hope it will close instantly."

Saito and Kai find Xavier with 6 other kids gathered around a volcano.

"Oi." They turn their heads when they hear Rex's voice and look surprised to see Yuno with the other two.

"Hello everyone." Nylon greets the children and they smile gathered around the birthday boy.

"This is Max today is his birthday, this volcano is under the spell of a Luxar who made a deal with a Negai to grant wishes for all the children on the island every time it's a child's birthday your timing couldn't be so perfect.

"Since you're all here she will give each of you a gift though the older you the less special the gift it starts from the youngest to the oldest so Yuno please step forward."

Yuno looks confused taking Nylons hand, "I'm the oldest."

"You are not the one getting a gift." She's shoved into the volcano and Nylon turns to Xavier, "Your turn, are you ready?" Xavier nods while Kai looks for Yuno and is surprised to see her swimming in Lava.

"So, it's not hot?"

"It is, but there is an order if you jump in when it's not your turn she will think you are being greedy and you will burn."

Kai nods taking a step back.

Yuno is pulled down and looks into the eyes of a woman with red hair and beautiful orange eyes.

"Don't hold your breath I will not drown you." Yuno takes a deep breath and the woman pecks her stomach. "The first of the next generation of immortals, so powerful yet they are not yet born." She cups Yuno's cheek.

"Forgive me for this but now is not the time," The woman looks her in the eye, "You will forget of this, you are not pregnant and until the time is right this child will not be growing nor will he be detectable my gift to you child is life.

"You will be a sign of hope after the tragedy that is about to fall upon the earth. A Lin started this war and it shall be a Lin who ends it. I will lay down my life if I must but you will live that I promise you child."

A high-pitched sound echoes throughout the entire island and everyone who knows she's pregnant is about to forget.

"No one must know that you carry hope. He will not win this time he will pay for locking me in this prison. All who know forget."

Yuno gets out of the volcano and lies down the ring Ken gave to her shrinks and is now tighter.

"When it breaks you will remember. I hope you can forgive me for the horrible things I will do upon his return it will not be by my desire. Forgive me."

The noise fades away and Nylon takes Xavier's hand. "Jump when you're ready."

Xave jumps in and smiles at the woman he sees underwater.

"You only have one wish and as promised you will get that animal friend you've always wanted." She gives Xavier an egg and helps him back to the top. "Don't break it now, it'll hatch in a day or two. P.S it's a dragon."

Setsuno is the last to jump in and she looks into his eyes and smiles.

"Setsuno Suzuki after your next birthday you will no longer qualify for this, all your life you've been dealt a bad hand and every time things looked like they were just looking up something happened and you took a million steps back all you want is to break that cycle and that is what you shall get.

"I give to you this ring, do not take it off whether in water or fire. Your life will change for the better your hard work and never-ending faith has brought you here.

"Well done Suzuki it takes pure strength to keep fighting and pure strength you shall pass on to those around you."

Luna takes a step back as the ground shakes the breach is about to open and nearly thousands of locked away Immortals have heard of this and are waiting for an opening.

Nylon helps the island children hide.

"We hope you are happy Negai because I sure as hell don't know what was worth bringing him back." Poly says.

The woman in the volcano sighs. "Fates such as yourself should not doubt what has happened here today. Take the children and protect them the rest will be sorted out as it should."

"Why bring these people here? Is there a reason?"

"Pixie sweetheart do not doubt me now. He is close leave."

Yuno is holding on to Setsuno using the trees as a mode of transport.

"Yuno? I think whatever affects the older people here is affecting her, how are we handling this? We still need to get the stones."

Kai turns to Saito and he offers to take Yuno.

"No, remember what the Nymph said the only way to travel around here is to take to the skies.

"Saito will be our ride out don't forget Xavier needs someone there to keep him in check and I don't know if you've noticed, but Roku is terrible with kids." Rex states getting anxious as the ground shakes below them.

"Enough! We're all going back. Roku will put them to sleep I'll catch up with you guys just go on ahead and I'll take Rex with me just in case we run into trouble, he's good with strategy so if you need back up we'll have a good plan, no matter what we leave with the stones alright!"

Everyone turns to Setsuno and they nod while he goes on ahead back to Roku occasionally marking the trail to find their way back when they have the stones.

Roku already knows what's happening he's surprised only Setsuno is approaching.

"We have a chance to get the stones, you remember what we said about the 10 hours?"

Roku takes Yuno and puts Xavier to sleep. "You have 7 hours left, hurry up."

"Sure thing."

Kai and Saito can see Charles but the stones are nowhere in sight.

"9 o' clock from her left foot, the ground looks like it has been dug up."

"What the fuck is a 9 o'clock from her left foot?" Saito asks Kai because the ground looks perfectly normal to him.

"An Immortal and human, what a wrong combination." A voice startles the two and they fall off the tree Saito catches Kai before they touch the ground and now their position is compromised though they did not expect so many people to have made it through the gate.

Setsuno and Rex are going with a decoy strategy of using Rex's full strength to create cracks in the ground while Setsuno shakes plants in the opposite direction.

While everyone is distracted by the noise Kai uses a water whip to hit the spot he mentioned earlier and sure enough the Turquois marble is in view.

"We have no choice but to hit the ground running Kai go I'll hold them back." Saito let's go off Kai who runs for the marble while Saito takes out anyone going after him.

Kai grabs the first stone and Saito turns into a full dragon grabbing Kai and following Setsuno by scent.

"Over here we found a tunnel." Rex runs into the tunnel and they follow.

"We only have one stone I don't know where the other is."

Rex and Setsuno just keep running so Saito and Kai follow.

"The gate is closing find the stone." A tall male with black messy hair gives out an order and Luna tells them to stop.

"It's useless, the girl is probably off the island and without her the other stones are useless let them go they won't leave without this that I know."

Two more wolves jump through the gate before it closes. "Why didn't you open the door completely?"

"I …" Luna pauses and scratches the back of her neck, "I couldn't kill the girl I don't know why."

"The dragon and the human, what is that boy? Human or immortal?"

"He's human, while you were gone things changed humans now have power to harm us they can't kill us but they sure as hell can do damage.

"They are called Supers and there is what you call hybrid Immortals half human half Immortal more powerful than a normal Immortal and cannot be killed by just anything they are the only thing closest to pure Immortality."

"So? Why are they here?"

"The girl I speak off is the human's sister they were here for her they are the descendants of Izumi Lin."

The crowd doesn't waste time scattering, "That bastard will pay." Luna smirks as everyone wonders off blinded by vengeance and she gets her chance to escape with the stone.

"Where are you going with that?" Luna turns around and Roku smirks at her. "Technically in human years I'm 19 so your little spell doesn't affect me, great job getting rid of the riff raff for me and revealing the stones whereabouts now give it to me or I take it."

Luna smirks, "If you're here that means Yuno is still here and we can open the gate again after we capture you all, well I doubt those kids will survive."

"Ken chose them for a reason they are not just children they are a special team of elites, no one said fighting was their true strength." Roku sent ahead an illusion and now he knows where the stone is.

"Checkmate." A deep voice from behind the real Roku states and he turns around slowly.

"Oh no, I'm sorry." Roku sarcastically replies waving his hands in the air. "I hate Lyres."
