chapter 52:Unexpected Corruption!

Floating through the rift between dimension, two lone figures could be seen drifting listlessly through the void of the world, one had a dead expression while the other remained cheerful.

"...this can actually happen?" Leonard questioned the system.

[Normally- the answer is no, since this is a solo mission, however- the system did not categorize spiritual being- Astolfo(Ryuji Sakamoto) as a living contestant and allow him to pass.]

"Then what the hell did this creature here, were categorized in?" Leonard asked the system as he glanced at the spinning Ryuji.

[Spirit being has attached to the host, now categorized as a Buff, a blessing- increase charm by one hundred points, luck by twenty-five point and special ability of Rider of Black from Type-Moon Universe.] the system informed him.

"A blessing? This seems like a curse! Did you call being haunted by a ghost a blessing? What kind of sick joke is this? Especially the ghost of a trap?! I honestly don't mind a beautiful waifu! But I am straight! I want to stay true to girls?!" Leonard wanted to bang his head onto the next wall that he sees as he began to lamented.

[Such Irony, staying truthful to your "wives"- commented.] the system mocked him.

"So where are we heading?" Ryuji asked with his eyes shining brightly.

"Somewhere really cold, compare that to the North Pole back on Earth, lovely place for a vacation don't you think?" he replied.

"Wait what? Why are we going there?" Ryuji was taken back by the reply and began to sweat bullets as he wasn't prepare anything for the cold weather.

"To rescue an evil god, of course, his name should be Yogg Saron, I'm sure you know of him well since you're from the same world as I am," he smirked.

"Are you INSANE?!" Ryuji floated over and grabbed him by the shirt collar and shakes him vigorously with fear and sheer horror plastered all over his trap face.

"I don't want to do this! Let me go! Please I beg you!" he cried.

"...you're the one who jumped on me when I was about to leave…there's no going back now…" Leonard was speechless by Ryuji reaction to the situation that they're about to face.

Throughout the dark space of the tunnel, the two lone figure continuously traveled toward their destination, seemingly bored out of their mind thus far, as they had been going for at the very least half an hour already- but they still yet to arrived.

"What took so long? System? Any answer to that?" Leonard asked the system through the built-in mental commanding program.

[Loading...Loading...Error...corruption detected- warning! warning!] needless to say, that reply from the system was quite ominous, to say the least.

"I think we might have a problem…" Leonard turned toward the trap haunt that was now stuck with him with sheer horror on his face.

"What are you talking about? What could be any worse than going toward our death! It's Yogg Saron you know?! Is there anything that's worse than an old god?!" Ryuji sobbed.

"Oh yes… trust me, at least I know for a fact that Yogg Saron won't kill me right away- but this time, the chance of us dying is… very high." Leonard gulped down a mouthful of saliva before he felt a tugging force dragging him toward another direction, it wasn't just him who was dragged, Ryuji also tagged along for the joy ride as well.

"Here it comes! I hope you're not afraid of heights!!!!!!!!" he shrieked as the force dragged the both of them into the voided rift that was created onto the tunnel wall.

"Why does this always happened to me!!!" Leonard cursed out loudly as this was definitely not the first time that something like this had happened.

He swears that if he saw the System Manager again, he would demand the thing to debugged and fix this shitty system that caused him such miserable and hell.

The both of them were sucked into the rift of darkness, they were blinded for a short moment before their vision returned and they saw what's really had happened.

Currently, they were free falling from above the cloud without a parachute.

"If I die! I swear I will haunt you for an eternity!!!" Ryuji declared loudly as they were coming ever closer to the ground that was below.

"You're already dead and likely would have haunted me for an eternity so what's the point! If you were to die again then that would be for the best since it would likely be permanent death!" Leonard retorted back.

"But it won't be happening!" he then added before trying out a new skill that he gained from being haunted by this pink hair trap.

"System! Activate Rider of Black skill! Summon the hippogriff!" he shouted from the top of his lung, commanding the system to activate the "buff" that he had received prior to the free fall.

*shriek! Upon activating the summoning ability, a Griffin-like creature flew out from a spacial rift and caught the both of them onto it back.

The hippogriff, a mythical creature that was usually mistaken for the legendary half lion and half eagle beast, Griffin- instead of having a half lion body, the hippogriff had the body of a steed- the legendary beast from the legend of Astolfo.

"Damn! You actually created the Rider of Black with all of his skill and reincarnated over as the Rider of Black himself?! What kind of bullshit reincarnation cheat is that?! Imagine if you were to create the Golden Archer, Gilgamesh! Shit! I'm stuck with a shameless blackheart system while you're stuck with that bullshit of a cheat!" Leonard cursed loudly as they glided through the air on the back of the Hippogriff.

"I didn't know any better okay! Or else I would have created someone on the level of the Beast Class! Or might as well create a true god and enjoy my life on this side without much of a worry!" Ryuji retorted back.

"Damn, I hate how you Japanese Isekai does things! Always so lucky!" Leonard added.

"Hey did you said you have a system?! What the hell man! That's ten times more lucky than I am?! I had to be hit by a truck to reincarnated over with this body! While you sir! Had a system!" Ryuji finally notices the magic word.

"Alright just shut up! I need to know where the hell is this place first! The last thing I want is to be stuck in another apocalyptic wasteland again...me and my big mouth…" Leonard finally noticed their surrounding, he couldn't help but to once again lamented about his FATE.

"So cool!!!" that was the only reaction Ryuji could give.

"Cool? My fucking ass… first, it was a zombie apocalypse- now? We're in another apocalyptic wasteland with who knows what lurking within?!" he screamed loudly as the screen zoomed out, revealing their surrounding to be a ruined of a once-booming metropolis, now there's nothing but aged dirty concrete and half collapsed skyscraper dotted the landscape with mother nature slowly taken over the world for as far as the eyes could see.

There was no human or anything living in sighs, there were only ruins and the tingling sensation that had been tickling his sense of danger the moment he arrived at this strange wasteland.

"Do you feel that there's something off here? Like, a strange metallic taste in the air." Leonard finally asked Ryuji.

"Weird, yeah- you're right, there's that strange taste of metal in the air...hold on...LOOK! Over there!" Ryuji then pointed at the scene further ahead, that of a large crater of emptiness with a cloud of black dust always above it.

"...we need to get the hell of here!" noticing their dangerous situation Leonard quickly turned the hippogriff to bolt toward the other direction at lightning speed- it was then that he noticed something was flying toward them.

Looking closer at the things that were coming for them, Leonard freaked out even further! They're strangely mutated flock of bird that does not look friendly.
