By the evening, news of the accident was broadcasted as a head line. 'The Second-Generation Rich Girl, involved in a drug party just three days ago, caused a drunk driving accident.'
"What's the situation?"
When asked the question, Nora couldn't help but press her forehead.
"It's worse than what happened three days ago." She brought out her phone and showed it to Maevie.
The internet was on fire. Just like the drug party incident, the news was being broadcasted. People were calling out for her withdrawal from the Entertainment Industry as always and also for the authority to bring justice against her reckless drunk drive.
Maevie scrolled down and read thorough the comments.
[I'm really disappointed at the leaders of our society. Just because she came from a rich family, does she get to get away with all the shits she had done?]
[I don't think she'll get away this time. I heard that the other person involve is also from a rich and powerful family.]
[True. The Clangtons have been a long business partner of the Cacias. If they push the later, I'm sure the Cacia family would not keep on protecting this blood sucker.]
[I have a relative of my boyfriend's friend's girlfriend working in the hospital they were admitted. I heard that Maevie got away with minor injuries but the other party had to go through surgeries.]
[My aunt's daughter in law's sister also walks there. She told me that the man has broken a leg and two ribs.]
[The police had not given any statement?]
[They only say that the investigation is going on.]
[My relative working there has told me that there was high concentration of alcohol in Maevie's blood.]
The comments were definitely being led by the marketing accounts. If she was not one of the parties involved, she would also believe that it was her reckless drunk driving who hit an innocent person.
But her memories were clear. Even if there was alcohol in her blood, she was not the one to cause the accident. She went in a pretty slow speed due to her dizziness even when she was driving. On contrast, the person who was recklessly driving was the other party.
But none of the news outlet was mentioning anything about the speeding car.
Maevie then opened another video where a group of parents were sitting in a sit in protest and shouting slogans for her to get out of the Entertainment Industry for being a bad example.
"Where's Wenden?" Maevie asked for the whereabout of her agent.
"He went to the crew with Sister Blaye."
Blaye was another artist signed under Wender. Since he knew that Maevie did have that much value in the Cacia family and never listened to her, he did not put any effort on her and focused more on Blaye who was getting more and more popular under his guidance.
"Has he made any contact yet?"
"He called in the morning saying that he'd be back tonight to handle it." Nora replied. "He should be reaching by 9."
"Hmm"
Maevie nodded.
"What would you like to have for dinner, Boss?" Nora asked.
Maevie thought for some time. It had been a few hours since she had her last meal. Maybe it was the little fever affecting her appetite, she did not feel like having anything at the moment.
Just when the injured person was going through all encyclopedia of cuisine she had recorded in her brain, a knock came at the door.
Nora opened the door and paused. She had to look up at least at the angle of 45° to even look at his face with her small frame of 5'2. The ever-cold eyes were glaring down at her before they shifted to the person on the bed.
"Big Brother!" Maevie called out.
The young master of the Cacia Family did not reply as he entered the room. He went for the seat besides the bed. He turned his head from left to right as he observed his sister.
"Big Brother…" Maevie called out again. And this time, he acknowledged it.
"Hmm"
Tyler had yet to take off his eyes from his sister. Up until the moment he saw her conscious sitting on the bed when the door opened, his mind was filled with many images of how her condition could possibly be. Even if he got the report that she only sustained light injuries, when he saw the picture of her car, his heart missed a beat.
The condition of the car was so bad on the driver's side that it would have been impossible to get away with a few cuts and bruises.
He had a lot in his mind through out his journey back to the Eastern Blue Nation. His assistant had informed him that his cousin sister who had been adopted to his family had called while he was in the meeting. He did not forget to convey that she seemed to be drunk.
Tyler had not yet forgotten the anger and disappointment from the drug party incident and just ignored it thinking that it was one of her tantrums. He never expected that the next call he would get regarding her would be of her getting into an accident while drunk driving.
The word 'drunk drive' didn't even register into his mind. All he could think of was that she got into an accident. He regretted not giving her a call back. Maybe she would not have gotten into the accident if he did.
But there was nothing he could do to change that now. Regretting does nothing. So, he could only hope that she was okay. He rushed back, leaving the dinner party he was supposed to attend.
Tyler observed his sister. She did not look that injured. In fact, with her face which was always covered in makeup being cleared and the light blush caused by her fever made her look more radiant. Not like an injured person at all.
"How are you feeling?"
"I'm feeling fine, Big Brother." Maevie's heart was filled with happiness when she saw her big brother.
"Hmm"
"Is Big Brother done with his business deal?"
"Hmm"
"Has Big Brother had his dinner?"
"No."
"That great. Then we can have dinner together?"
"Okay."
Nora stood awkwardly as she witnessed the weird way of conversation. If she did not know better, she would have said that the Young Master was the patient and her boss was the guest who had come to visit the patient.
