Just for additional rewards, every first completed quest is bountiful, what more if he is able to level up the Supreme System?
"Sally, are you sure?! A-are you completely sure that you heard it right?!" A womanly yet loud and shaky voice was heard by Sally through the communication feature of her Menu Interface
"Guild Leader, for the fifth time, yes! I heard it right from the person who issued the party quest."
Sally heard her Guild Leader gasp again for the fifth time. She cannot blame her, when she heard it earlier, even she gasped for air and forgot that her mouth is wide open due to shock.
"You must keep it secret and secure the chain quest for yourself!"
The Guild Leader agitatedly told her.
"Guild Leader, I know. But the party who triggered the quest doesn't relent. I use any means to persuade them but they won't let me have the chain quest!"
"Grrr. We can't let them have it for themselves. Have you coaxed them by providing them with real money? Did they name a price?!"
Sally can only sigh, she is not an idiot. She used everything she knows to persuade them. She even tried to charm the Guardian but the female players are quick to block her advances to the Guardian.
All she received is a blatant no.
"Guild Leader. Trust me, I even offered them an amount that is hard to decline but they still stick to their decision and refused."
"Tsk. How much did you offer them?"
"$500,000 US Dollars."
"That amount and they still decline? It seems they know a lot about this virtual game as well."
Sally shares the same sentiment. Those players are not average players, they know the significance of chain quests.
Average players only play hoping to earn some money in the future, while core players play to earn a fortune overnight after the exchange system took effect. And businesses and the rich elite invest in these core players.
"Okay, just stick to them for the time being and try to trigger another quest to Payne Blanc. You must not let this opportunity slip past us and do not in any circumstances intentionally or unintentionally offend that NPC. We'll send support as soon as possible. Good luck, Sally."
Sally then heard the familiar beeping sound, indicating the call has been dismissed.
She turns around and leaves. Her destination is the Midnight Inn.
Meanwhile, in the Forum, players are sent into an uproar when they learned the Party Quest is already finished!
"Arg! How lucky that player triggered the Part Quest! How envious!"
"Easy brother, for sure their luck is now rotten after using their 1 year of good luck!"
"How can luck be at play in this game? One only needs to be resourceful and skillful enough to get by!"
"Huh?! Are you dumb? Luck plays a vital role in this game!"
"I wonder what kind of rewards they received. I envy them. I hope I can trigger the quest too. I have been trying my best to trigger one but my effort is for naught."
Angel, Aliyah, and Lex are currently reading the Forum and the two girls cannot help but giggle while Lex is having a hard time deciding whether to boast in the Forum or not.
"Hey! You! If you ever try to post the rewards and something, I will cut you with my swords!"
Lex suddenly felt his soul almost left his body "E-eh?! Why would I do that? I am not dumb to do that ha-ha-ha-ha."
Lex heave a sigh of relief, if he ever posted the rewards he received, surely, his friend will really cut him.
"Good. I just want to remind you not to post anything related to rewards or quests. So they can forget about the quest thing, especially since we found a chain quest! And we can back after a couple of days to continue the chain quest."
Aliyah exhilaratingly explains to them.
Angel nodded in agreement.
Aliyah then smiles and grasps Angel's hand "But of course, this is all thanks to Angel. Because of her, we are able to find fortune through Mr. Payne Blanc."
"Ah! No, no, it is all thanks to you we are able to complete the quest. If not for you two, I don't know if I can finish the quest or trigger the chain quest." Aliyah quickly retorted back.
"That's right, it is because of our efforts, but we won't forget your kindness, Ms. Angel, for picking us as your party member."
Lex said words of gratitude toward Angel.
The latter can only smile in agreement.
The three of them decided to add each other as a friend since Payne Blanc acknowledge them as a party member, not a sole player.
Maybe because the chain quest is related to a party quest, not a solo quest. That's reasonable.
"The problem is that Sally girl who keeps pestering us to abandon the quest in exchange for real money!" Aliyah become agitated as she blurted it out and remember the discussion they have with Sally.
Lex added "Yes! Although the price she offers is tempting we know that this kind of quest can give us a tantamount advantage over our peers. Even the government community and core group will do anything just to get a hold of one."
"And that is why it is necessary to keep this thing as a secret."
"But how can we keep it a secret since Sally knows about it too?"
Angel told them with a worried tone.
Lex can only sigh but Aliyah proposes a better plan "I don't know if you guys will agree, but if we cannot stop her from pestering us, the only thing we can do is add her as a party member."
Suddenly Lex become excited "Oh! That sounds like a plan! Why not add her now?"
Aliyah become irritated hearing the excitement from Lex "Are you dumb? If we invite her now, she might think of something that might affect our relationship with Mr. Payne Blanc."
Angel raises her delicate right hand "Then, what do you think we should do?"
This time Aliyah grinned "We would use our situation to our advantage to get something from her."
"What do you mean?"
"It is simple, average players know the importance of the quest, but they don't know how important the chain quest is. Sally on the other hand is not your average player, she might be one of the core groups roaming in the nearby city or kingdom. She offers us a hefty amount of real money just to forget about the chain quest. So let's squeeze as much as we can!"
Lex interjected "How evil! I never knew my friend is so evil!"
"Huh? Got a problem with that?!"
Lex raises his both hands as a sign of surrender.
"I agree with Aliyah this time though it is a bit cruel. But we have no choice, if we want to survive in this game, we must do anything."
"See? Angel understood me! That's the thinking of a true player hahaha!"
Seeing the two girls laughing around, Lex invited the two girls to dine "Yes, you both girls right. Anyway, let's head out and eat. I need to fill my hunger."
The two girls fix themselves and stood up "Let's go, I feel hungry too. It is just a pity that the taste of the foods is bland, like, bland."
They are currently boarding in the Midnight Inn where Payne Blanc is staying, this is to make sure to keep an eye on him so that when the two days are up, they know where to locate Payne Blanc.
Lex opens the door and headed toward the ground floor.
Upon arriving on the ground floor, Lex ordered food for the three of them on the server "Boss, give me this meal for three people."
Mel, the NPC owner only nodded his head and give the receipt to Lex "That would be 90 Copper Coins."
Lex uses his Menu Interface to pay the NPC.
Mel, upon receiving the payment reminded Lex to wain on their seat and food will be served after it is cooked.
Lex is about to around but suddenly he frowned when he saw Payne Blanc enter the Midnight Inn with a familiar girl with a goddess look and body.
It is none other than Sally!
How on Earth Sally was able to bring Payne Blanc to discuss with her? Is it her because of her beauty? It is possible but that chance is very low.
He, including Aliyah and Angel, knows that Payne Blanc is an unusual type of NPC, he has a high intelligence among his peers. They even guess that Payne Blanc is a hidden elite NPC at the current stage of the game, and will only be publicly known if an event like City Siege or Town Siege was triggered and use his power to save the West Town.
And due to them being shameless inwardly, each and everyone thought that the chain quest they received from Payne Blanc is the key to triggering such an event.
