"Of course! I hope to have some grandchildren after all!
"---"
Kael was short of words, barely just able to nod his head.
"Alright, we'll see later, I have some departing guests to attend to." She said, before walking away.
Soon, the party was getting rounded up with Kael and Aretha placed in a carriage, which would carry them to the palace. Bading farewell to the crowds both sat in silence as the carriage surged forward.
The journey was a short one, and soon, they were led to the designated room prepared for them by the maids. Kael quickly took off his attire while heading to the bathroom to freshen up.
The room was a large one, having both a little kitchenette stocked with food and another room which contained the gifts brought by the guests.
The large bed was at the centre of the room with only a table placed at the corner of the room. Aretha slowly took off her gown, leaving just her underwear and began searching for a new set of clothes in the drawer at the end of the room.
Tap~ Tap~
She heard a sound by the window piquing her interest. Walking to the window, which was opened and led to the balcony, she was shocked by the figure standing with hands placed behind his back as if expecting someone.
"I've been waiting for you, y'know." Lucius said with a smile.
"What are you doing here?" Aretha said, clearly surprised. "How did you get here? Don't tell me the guards let you in," she said with a frown.
"The guards? You mean those pesky things," Lucius said with a chuckle while stepping closer.
Aretha subconsciously stepped backwards, a bit suspicious of his words. It was clear he was up to something.
"I was supposed to be the winner, y'know. It could have made things easier for both of us, but that dumb idiot had to spoil things. Anyway, I've got to carry out my job at the end of the day." Stretching his hand quickly, he grabbed her hand, pulling her close to him.
"My master wants you. And when my master wants something... he must surely get it!"
"Let go of me!" Aretha shouted, struggling fiercely to free herself. To her dismay, she felt herself getting weakened all of a sudden, unable to put up much fight.
"That's right. Behave well, and maybe I will be nice to you." He said with a wicked smile. A piece of paper appeared in his other hand, which he slowly tore. "It's time to go home, I'm sick of this dreary place already!"
"You! What the hell are you doing?!" Kael exclaimed, walking into the room. Seeing the situation, he already knew what was happening. A strange golden portal was beginning to form at Lucius' side.
"Damn it! I won't let you take her!" He exclaimed, teleporting towards their position.
"You think I haven't thought about how to deal with you and your annoying powers. I'll make sure I teach you a good lesson before leaving!" Lucius exclaimed, shattering another crystal that appeared in his hand.
Kael felt a force pulling at him with the space becoming unstable. He was forced out, his body bouncing across the floor from the effects.
In one swift motion, Lucius pushed Aretha through the portal before charging towards Kael. A long golden staff appeared at his hand, and then swinging forward, he unleashed a wave of golden energy, which left a trail of destruction.
Kael leapt to the side and was able to avoid the attack just by an hair's breadth. He found out he was unable to use his spatial powers and, with his gravity powers, also getting affected.
"Where's she?" Kael asked as both circled around.
"She? Hahaha, she's gone, idiot." Lucius said, bursting out in laughter. Exploding forward, he delivered a powerful swing right at Kael's face successfully landing the hit.
Kael skidded backwards, his feet breaking through the marble floor. Blood dripped from a deep cut in his head down to his neck.
"I promised her... I promised to protect her at all costs! You better bring her back, else…" Kael said in a soft but shilling voice, his eyes emitting an ominous glow.
"Hahaha, maybe I need to beat sense into that empty head of yours before you get what I'm saying." Lucius said charging forward once again.
"I won't repeat myself again. I said... bring her... back!"
SLAASH! THUD!
"Arghhh!" A scream echoed over the room accompanied by a splash of blood and a thud. Blood sprayed over the area staining the bed and Aretha's wedding gown. The golden staff which he held dropped with a hand still holding onto the weapon tightly.
Kael now had a large scythe which was stained in blood and was slowly dripping to the ground.
"My hand! You bastard!" Lucius cursed out in agony. His eyes landed on the figure before him which was taking slow strides towards him. "Shit! What the hell is going on… all of a sudden..." he muttered quickly running towards the fading portal.
"Where do you think you're going?" Kael said, swinging his scythe towards the fleeing Lucius.
Leaping to the side, he barely evaded the deadly blade of the weapon. The blade sliced through the portal causing it to explode.
"Shit! I can do this, he doesn't have that strange weapon with him now!" Lucius muttered struggling to his feet. Dashing forward, he gathered his energy in his only hand and then leapt high spinning towards Kael direction.
BOOOM!
Kael was sent skidding backwards once again, stopping a few inches from the wall. "The noise would have alerted the whole palace by now, except, he's using an artifact to keep the noise within the room." Kael thought, his eyes scanning the room in search of any strange item.
"I will rip you apart," Lucius said with an evil grin slowly picking up his staff. Pressing an etch at the centre, sharp deadly blades appeared at both ends.
"You could have just stayed silently and taken the chance to live a free life, that's if you don't get killed by Otrera," he said with a chuckle.
Kael felt his powers restricted but wasn't the least bothered. He could end things in an instant but was trying to get answers about her whereabouts.
"Don't worry, your wife is in safe hands. She would be treated better there than in this hell hole."
"Where is she?" Kael asked, stretching his hands towards the scythe which was lying on the ground metres away.
"You're not getting anything out of me." Lucius exclaimed, charging forward. "I won't let you get hold of that!" Swinging his staff rapidly he released several arcs of golden energy which streaked towards Kael direction.
The godkiller scythe appeared in his hands in the blink of an eye. Easily swinging it, he destroyed all the energy blades. "Fine, I'll get my answers through another way." Kael could feel his rage bubbling and unable to hold it back, he released a loud roar which was accompanied by a wave of dark energy.
The wave of energy destroyed everything which it came in contact with, slowly corrupting them and turning them to dust.
"This... this energy!" Lucius exclaimed with shaky legs. "How are you able to make use of this power?"
"I need to leave now," he thought, summoning another paper. Tearing it quickly, another portal appeared right before him and without wasting time he jumped through. "Haha, idiot. Don't worry we shall meet again!"
Looking around, he felt he had appeared in the wrong destination. "What's this place?" He thought, feeling an overwhelming force pressing him down. Looking around, he fell to the ground with a fearful expression.
"No, no! Don't do this!!" Lucius scream echoed in the dark void.
Hehe, things are about to get interesting.
