Demon Slayer | Kanae vs Doma

After the introductions I decided to move forward not wasting any more time as I enter the portal leading to where my quest should take place.

Entering the portal my vision was then swallowed by complete darkness. I didn't resist and let my consciousness fall into it. I continued to fall for a while, which was not a newfound experience for me.

To me, it felt like I was dying all over again, similar to when I met the unnamed goddess of karma. Except that this time I was feeling warmth and peace of mind.

The usual anxiety over the darkness is nowhere, it felt like the darkness is an extension of my body a part of me that I can control as I pleased.

"I will be facing the upper moon rank 2 Doma. I can't wait. Our battle will be legendary."

'I couldn't help cringing to my own words. Thankfully, no one's present to hear me say it.'

[No, I heard it all.]

"…" – I forgot about Rafael-chan.

I ignored her as I waited for the transfer.

My body slowly began to materialize, as I landed atop a broken house.

I opened my eyes, and took a few glances around me, all I could see was ruined wooden buildings, a chilling air present in the atmosphere and the place is beyond wrecked.

I could tell that a fight broke out here.

I can also spot a couple of limbs and dead bodies scattered everywhere.

The scene is a bit nostalgic to me.

The sight of such cruelty isn't really that uncommon to me.

IF I remember correctly Doma's blood demon art is inclined on ice attribute type attacks and control.

He is also very good in close quarter combat surpassing the upper moon 3 in terms of mastery and technique.

He is said to be a genius just like me.

Probably the fact that he lack true emotions is the payment for his talent just like how I find almost everything inconsequential before the apocalypse in my first life that I divert into becoming a neet.

IF we fought now while only relying on my mastery and techniques I should have the upper hand against him.

I look up at the sky shifting my gaze at the full moon up above that illuminates the night.

The moon is still high up there if we fought each other we'll have enough time to determine who's better.

It is pointless if he is forced to flee due to the sun.

I don't want that.

I've been in teacher mode for the past six months, it's been quite some time since I've been in a real battle.

Just as I am having these random thoughts I heard a loud explosion coming from my north.

I quickly jump atop one of the tallest intact buildings trying to get a good vantage point to observe the situation.

I looked down and I could see people running for their lives only to be reach by a cold mist instantly turning them into ice statues.

The cold mist also passed through me I ignored it and it did nothing as I have complete immunity over ice based attacks due to my magic, Velzard, Lord Of Frost.

My ears perked up as I heard metal clashing against each other from a distance.

Sharpening my eye sight focusing my vision to where the clash had originated from, there I saw dancing blooming flowers deflecting a barrage of ice blades and ice arrows.

The moment the two attacks collided I can feel the rumbling of the ground and air pressure spreading due to the strong shockwave of the two techniques' collision.

'Strange, Doma look a bit stronger that what I've remember.'

[Just like back in Danmachi this world isn't inclined to following the same path and logic of when it's noting but a fiction. There are a lot of changes when it comes to characters, except for the timeline. However, now that you've intervened the timeline had become unknown.]

'I get it, this is certainly interesting, to think a mana less world could birth people having a power equivalent to level 4 and 6 adventurers back in Danmachi. Truly fascinating.'

I with a toothy grin as I observed the two fighters show what they got as they fought each other to death.

One is a slender beauty.

She had long, straight, black hair that reached just below her waist, worn down with two shorter clumps over her shoulders, and arched, ear-length bangs on either side of her face.

Her eyes were a pale violet and slanted towards the sides of her face, bright and bug-like, with many notable white sparkles reflecting light off of them.

She wore a purple-tinted version of the standard Demon Slayer uniform, as well as a piece of black fabric around her calves and zōri with pale straps. She also sported a pair of green and pink butterfly hairpins.

As for the person or I should say the demon she's fighting.

He has the appearance of a tall young man with a toned and muscular body, who is of a notably pale complexion and possessed unusually long, pointed nails that appeared to be stained with a pale blue color.

His hair could appear either silver or a pale golden blond, and he wore it parted to his left, the shorter parts around his face seeming to flare out to either side around his head, curving backwards with one strand left down his face to fall between his eyes, while the longer parts were left to drape centrally down his back in a thinning spiral.

His eyes have been described to be incredibly rare and beautiful.

He wore a blood-red turtleneck that have a design that made it appear that the section between his neck and upper chest is covered by a black substance that looks like it's dripping slightly down his body, this same design repeated at his wrists and down his hands, as well as on the small, circular (blood stain) he adorned on his head.

Below this, he wore a pair of straight, tan-colored hakama pants of a pinstriped design, their cuffs visibly loose, which he secured with a pale green-tinged golden belt, its buckle a bright silver.

Kanae and Doma.

One is a human that had surpassed the limits of what a normal human could have achieved, able to move at a speed of sound and cut large boulders with ease.

The other is a human turned into a demon who feasts upon the flesh of humans.

One is a young lady who lost her loving parents to the demons while the other is a religious symbol turned into a demon.

Two different people, two different lives, two different personalities, and fighting for two different reasons.

Who will come up to the top and slay the other.

Unfortunately, that is nothing but a farce, the difference between the two fighters is like heaven and earth.

There's no comparison at all.

Kanae's prowess is comparable to that of a level 4 adventurer back in Danmachi while Doma is equivalent to a level 6 in every aspect added to his limitless stamina, absurd mastery and demon blood arts.

Doma can probably give Ottar a run for his goddess if they fought each other.

The only reason why the fight last this long is due to the demon in person Doma treating the fight as nothing but a mere entertainment.

He is a sadistic person happily toying with his opponents pressuring them to eventually break down, a typical demonic characteristic of a genuine demon I must say.

I watch as Kanae the swordswoman performing a beautiful flower dance attacking the ever so easygoing Doma who's grinning as he deflected her attacking by merely raising his golden fan.

Doma performed a simple foot technique easily dodging Kanae's sword strikes before counter attacking seemingly aiming to end her at that moment but I knew better.

Kanae was able to dodge the fan by a hairs breath, her throat was almost cut there.

She quickly step back distancing herself from her opponent trying to recover a bit of her lost stamina and stabilize her erratic body.

This was due to Doma's cold freezing the surroundings air making to hard to breath.

Demon slayers who relied on their breathing technique to fight demons will naturally have a hard time dealing with someone who has an influence on the very air they breath in.

Doma could have increased his speed at that moment and end Kanae yet he didn't.

It's clear to Kai's eyes that Doma is playing around trying to make Kanae feel into despair.

Kai has this amuse expression on his cute face.

The demon reminded him of his past actions when it comes to arrogant enemies that had dared to annoy him.

Kanae steps back panting heavily, she looks at the demon in front of her who still maintains the same nonchalant and playful demeanor even after their exchange.

Demons possessed infinite stamina and near immortal like regenerate traits.

'I can't win this.' – She thought gritting her teeth.

"Are you scared?" – Doma mused giving Kanae's trembling hand a mischievous grin.

Yes, she's also scared, she admit it in her heart but did not dare to voice it out or it intensify the ego of the demon before her.

Kanae look at her right hand that's trembling.

She let out a sigh.

'I can't back down now, I must defeat him.'

"Kukuku." – Doma laughs looking at the pitiful Flower Hashira.

She did give him a good fight but it wasn't enough to satisfy him.

Kanae calmed her anxiety down the hesitant look on her eyes was replaced by a determined one.

He took a step forward.

Just as she was about to initiate another clash a melodious cheerful voice echoed throughout the place they're in.

"Yoho, what a good night we have here." – Kai announced his self.

"…" – Upper moon 2, Doma.

"…" – Flower Hashira, Kanae.

The two look at the direction where the cheerful voice came from and there atop one of the establishments just a few meters from them sat a female, no male kid moving his foot back and forth as if the carnage before him is nothing but a kid's play.

Kanae felt worried for the child. 'What is a child doing here?'

Doma was suspicious. 'I couldn't sense him at all, until he decide to voice out his existence.'

Doma made his move. He appeared before Kanae his fan aiming for her neck ready to cut her throat.

Kanae wasn't able to react to Doma's sudden attack.

Just as the sharp edge of the fan was about to reach her skin Doma felt danger coming from his right.

Shifting his focus he saw a tiny foot was aimed for his head.

He quickly took action cancelling his previous notion of ending Kanae as he moved his hand to block the incoming attack.
