Chapter 1 : Debut

Adam paced back and forth in his cramped apartment, his heart pounding with excitement and anticipation. He had been waiting for this moment for weeks, and now that it was finally here, he couldn't contain his excitement.

Tonight was the night he was going to put his System to the test.

Ever since discovering his unique System, Adam had spent countless hours training and honing his skills. He had read every book, watched every tutorial, and practiced every technique he could find. He had become a master of hand-to-hand combat, a skilled marksman, and a stealthy ninja.

And now, he was ready to take on the world.

Adam donned his black hoodie and gloves, grabbed his backpack, and slipped out of his apartment, careful to avoid the prying eyes of his nosy neighbour's. He made his way to the roof of his building, where he could see the entire city spread out before him.

He took a deep breath, closed his eyes, and focused on his System.

In an instant, his vision sharpened, his muscles tightened, and his reflexes quickened. He felt a surge of energy coursing through his body, and he knew he was ready.

Adam leaped off the roof and onto a nearby fire escape, his landing silent and precise. He crouched low and made his way across the metal rungs, his eyes scanning the dark alleys below.

He had heard rumours of a gang of drug dealers operating in this area, and he was determined to put a stop to their nefarious activities. He had no idea what he was going to face, but he was confident in his skills and his System.

As he approached the end of the fire escape, he heard a sound that made his blood run cold. It was the sound of a woman's screams.

Adam tensed, his hand tightening on his backpack strap. He had to act fast. He leaped off the fire escape and onto the ground below, his landing cushioned by his enhanced strength.

He sprinted towards the source of the screams, his heart pounding with fear and adrenaline. As he turned the corner, he saw a group of men surrounding a young woman, their faces twisted with cruel amusement.

Adam's blood boiled with rage. He had no tolerance for bullies, especially those who preyed on the weak and defenseless.

He charged towards the men, his fists clenched and ready for action. The men turned towards him, surprised at the sudden appearance of this hooded figure.

"What the hell is this?" one of them snarled.

Adam didn't answer. He didn't have to. He launched himself at the men, his fists flying with lightning speed.

The first man went down with a single blow, his nose crunching under Adam's knuckles. The second man tried to swing at him with a knife, but Adam dodged the blade and delivered a swift kick to his stomach.

The other men closed in on him, but Adam was too quick for them. He ducked under a swing, twisted around a grab, and delivered a flurry of punches and kicks that left his attackers dazed and confuse.

In less than a minute, the men were lying on the ground, groaning in pain and defeat. Adam turned towards the woman, who was staring at him with a mixture of fear and gratitude.

"Are you okay?" he asked, his voice gentle.

The woman nodded, tears streaming down her face. "Thank you," she whispered.

Adam smiled, feeling a warm sense of satisfaction wash over him. This was what he was meant to do. This was why he had been given his System.
