The space once again filled with the sounds of the vehement protests of the people. Amidst all the clamor, I was able to distinguish a few cheers accompanied by smiling faces that were turned towards me. I turned to Abel in surprise, a smile slowly spreading across my face in surprise. He pulled me into his chest, wrapping his arms around me in comfort. I snuggled closer to his chest, enjoying his warmth spreading through my frigid body.
“I have not finished,” Elder Jacob called out, silencing the uproar emanating from the crowd.
“Since we have decided to allow her to stay, we need to prepare for the possibility of war. From now on, everyone who is able should focus on training and gathering weapons. If what the prisoner said is true, we only have a few days before. They are coming on our territory so we have the upper hand. We need to set as many traps as possible within these next few days.”
