49 Death of Chi Emperor's Daughter

Empire of Chi, Region A

The carriage which the two emperors were riding had finally arrived at the Chi Palace. When they got out, Emperor Huang Le had to drag the dazed Ma Emperor towards the entrance of the Chi Empire palace. A guard in the palace gate looked at him weirdly as the scene unfolding in front of him is unusual. "How can two rulers act like commoners in public? Do they disregard proper etiquette easily?" The guard secretly thought.

When the two emperors walked passed through the guards, these guards offer a greetings and customary bow. Emperor Huang Le is about to lose his patience and did not even pay attention to the guards. The Ma Emperor had been giving him a hard time since they left from the Empire of Hong!

After a while of dragging, the old man escaped from his grasp then begins to laugh hysterically and runs inside the palace like a child. This emperor had really lost his sanity and Emperor Huang Le was about to become crazy as well, because of frustration. He tried to give chase to the Ma Emperor but soon he had lost his sight on him. The old man was unexpectedly fast!

The Huang Emperor stood on the empty hallway and was gasping of air. He looked around but the crazy emperor of Ma Empire was completely gone! He had no choice but to drag his feet under the hotness of the sun and decided to meet Emperor Chi Xing.

"Emperor Huang Le arrives!" a servant announced his arrival on the hall and opened the door for him. He had hurriedly stepped inside to report the strange things that happened on Emperor Ma Bing.

"You look exhausted, Emperor Huang Le? Why are you in such rush?" Emperor Chi Xing asked him.

"Ha! Emperor Ma Bing had lost his mind! He is acting like a person who is suffering from insanity!" Emperor Huang Le said in between his gasping.

"Oh? What exactly happened?" he heard that Emperor Chi Xing asked him.

"I don't know! He told me that a lady is carrying the newly emerged legacy and he tried to attack her. Unfortunately, he failed so we left in a hurry. Then all of a sudden, he becomes impulsive. He attacked a civilian on the street. Alas! He kept laughing and sometimes in dazed on our way here. Now, he ran on the entrance and I have lost him!" Emperor Huang Le described his own version of events.

He had referred the man wearing a cloak as civilian because for some reason, in his memories something was removed. He could not remember that Emperor Ma Bing had bumped into the man who he referred to as a civilian. What Emperor Huang Le can remember is that the Emperor of Ma Empire attacked the man while it was walking away from them!

"Hmmn... The Soul Practitioners are capable of possessing someone. Could it be that Emperor Ma Bing failed to control the unknown legacy that he was after?" Emperor Chi Xing stated and both emperors pondered for a while.

"Impossible. He had failed to attack the lady holding the legacy." Emperor Huang Le uttered with a huge frown while the other emperor slightly raised his eyebrows.

"Your majesty, forgive this servant from interrupting. There is an urgent ruckus in the garden of Chi Jing. The Emperor of Ma is destroying the flowers planted by your beloved daughter!" A servant suddenly interrupted the two emperors.

After the report was spoken, Emperor Chi Xing looked furious! The garden is also the burial place of her daughter! How dare the Ma Emperor disturb the rest of Princess Chi Jing!

When they arrived, the whole garden was in a great mess! Most of the flowers were uprooted. Not far from where they are standing, the Emperor of Ma Empire was laughing like a maniac.

"Guards, restrain the Ma Emperor." Emperor Chi Xing ordered, anger is evident in his tone.

When the guard caught Emperor Ma Bing, the man cried loudly. He wailed but did not put a fight with the guards.

"Put him in prison." Emperor Chi Xing coldly said while glaring at the man.

"Since the Ma Emperor lost his sanity, what are our next step?" Emperor Huang Le asked to the furious man beside him. The Chi emperor did not answered him but looked at the flowers on the ground.

"I have failed to protect my daughter once. Now, I have failed to protect her favorite flowers! I have let Jing'er down." Emperor Chi Xing mumbled softly and took one stem from the uprooted plant on the ground.

The Huang emperor looked at the Emperor Chi Xing with sympathy. His daughter was assassinated years ago but he could not move on from her death. The man had bore a deep grudge against the family who had killed his daughter. The problem is, he had not yet discovered who was behind the death of his daughter. The Chi Emperor had not yet given up on finding the perpetrator of that incident. He could only remember a vague detail.

Princess Chi Jing was actually killed by the order of Emperor He Mo's uncle. At that time, the He Empire was facing a dilemma. The late emperor was not able to produce an heir of his throne, they had no choice but to pass down his throne to his closest relative which is his brother. But his brother was exiled in his empire and was caught and sold by the slave traders to the Chi Empire.

That day, the princess died in the hands of a shadow whose mission was to save the young boy from slavery. Princess Chi Jing was torturing the young boy when He Ling arrived on her palace garden. It was as if the princess is having fun on seeing her victim in pain. After witnessing the princess beating the boy that he had to save, the shadow did not hesitate to end her life. He then sneaked out of the place effortlessly and successfully left the empire carrying the boy. Decades passed by, that man becomes the most trusted shadow of Emperor He Mo when he first ascended on his throne.

Nobody from Chi Empire had witnessed how He Ling killed the emperor's daughter but Emperor Chi Xing was able to contact with a master from Zhichen Sect. When the master traced the origin of his daughter's death, he did not saw the killer's face but he could see what he was wearing. It was dark clothing with a key pattern on its sleeves. The master gave the Chi Emperor a sketch of the garment the killer was wearing and from then on, Emperor Chi Xing assigned several of his people to investigate any information about the garment. Even after decades, no one had reported any good news from him. This is because the shadows rarely emerged and the garment is an exclusive uniform if they have an important mission to accomplish.

"The Ma Emperor had really turned crazy." Emperor Huang Le commented quietly and shook his head. No matter how he tried tracing the reason why Emperor Ma Bing becomes insane, the more his recollection of their trip in Hong Empire become unclear!

"I will handle the matters of Emperor Ma Bing. We will get the Yellow River territory first. That place should belong to our region only! I have arranged and managed to get the Formation Master Association's help. They have started laying battle formations on Yellow River. Your army can now attack the soldiers of Ru Empire." Emperor Chi Xing said.

"Hahaha Great! Then I shall depart now and arranged my soldiers." Emperor Huang Le was delighted and immediately left the palace of Chi Empire.

Meanwhile, on the small military camp in the boundary of Ru Empire few meters before the Yellow River territory, the army from Ru Empire who were on standby are getting anxious. Maybe this is from their battle experience over the years. They soldiers have feel in their instinct that their enemies is about to attack! They have made several speculations since they did not hear any order from King Ru Shi nor Emperor Ru Ning ever since they were told not to make any movements yet.

"Knowing King Ru Ning, he might be creating a military strategy right now." one of the soldiers said with full of confidence.

"Yeah... It's just that I am just worried if the enemy strikes us right now. Will our defensive formation be able to withstand when the Huang armies send attack on us? Somebody has also asked.

"Let's just wait. There is a reason why his majesty asked us to standby. King Ru Ning had his plans and arrangements. We can retreat but we can't be defeated." another soldier commented and almost every soldiers agreed on him.

These soldiers are eager to fight in a battle but they would not dare attack without the go signal of King Ru Ning.
