They all left the car. The drive was very awkward but calm. Nobody spoke but the talk was balmy, like how are you, what do you know about the client, etcetera. They parked behind the building, to where they were going.
It was a large place, probably expensive, they saw expensive cars too, a blue SUV, a black lambo, and a ferrare. It made Charlotte just admire it. The detective was two metre forward then realised, which made Jayden stop, she walked backwards too.
"Charlotte let's go," he said irritated, before dragging her, "let's go," he said to Jayden; who saw a man in a black cloak drag a mad lady waving her arms and screaming like a baby. She showed her first emotion, she breathed, giving half of a beefy laugh.
Then they turned, thinking they heard something. The two stopped fighting and entered properly, they saw a huge area at the entrance. There were two red couches and two chairs, kind of like the couches.
There was a huge red carpet, related to the other furniture. And at the end there was an elevator, and a white door leading to clean, polished stairs. They looked and saw a black clerk. The detective led them to her.
He spoke politely, "hello, do you know where the room is for," he turned to Jayden, she said the name, "ok," he gave a smile. She looked at them, and said rudely, "what reason do you have to meet him?"
This aggravated Charlotte and walked up to her, speaking in return rudely, "we are from the police force," she showed her badge with pride and said sinisterly, "so can we please meet them?"
This made her nervous, she reluctantly said the room number, then they left for the elevator. The door opened slowly, giving a cool effect. This made him tell you that this apartment block is for the rich.
"You should have not scared her," he said, not proud of her.
She gave a cheeky smile, "just to get info, is that bad?"
She then gave a merciful look, but still got a slap and an angered face from the detective. Jayden gave a body but a cheerful cough. They stared at her, she turned her head with her hand in front of her face, embarrassed.
The door opened, again with the slow animation. The detective really likes it. They went to the room, walking on the green fluffy carpet. But it only had a few doors. They had a nice grain, and looked new, like it was just installed and some looked older, as he saw it was a bit warped.
They arrived at the correct door, with the walls having a red tint on them, Charlotte was on guard. Jayden knocked on the door. It was a nice sound, a man opened the door slowly.
"Hello, what can I do for you?"
He was tall, and good looking, he was wearing a bathing robe and had a white shirt underneath. He also had a yellow cocktail with those small umbrellas in it. Charlotte showed her badge, "Good morning sir, we are the police force, can we ask you some questions?"
This surprised him, but seemed not at the same time. The detective whispered to Jayden quietly so he did not hear, "is he the guy?"
She nodded, but he noticed, when glancing behind. They entered the room, which was just a huge room with an ice bear themed carpet. The whole room felt futuristic, they even had a plant with a nice black pot. Actually multiple but different variants of plants.
He had a hard plastic couch, again white. It had a hole in the lean side, which made it look nice but uncomfortable. There was a grey soft bouncy seat with metal legs. It had a glorious window, a massive one, separated by white beams.
There was a kitchen connected to, ironically, the same as the detectives. There was also a large flat screen TV, breaking the dynamic, as it was practically covered in white.
The floor was chocolate, the white kind, the walls were painted white to. It did not mix, but when you counted the plants and the kitchen, it fitted in like a puzzle.
They kept walking, Jayden was the last person to enter, at the back. He spoke greatly, like a king, "so, what are the questions, police officer?"
The way he spoke and acted was like a metaphorical villain, all white and good on the outside but bad on the inside, with the face of a manipulator and president or dictator. "Want any drinks?"
He asked to look considerately, but failed, which annoyed him, "no thanks."
"Now, we would like to know why you bought the warehouse?"
Charlotte asked like a tiger stalking its prey and catching it at the right moment, she even growled. The white man gave a sigh. But before he could do anything, the detective went to her.
"Stop this," he whispered but it was echoey both could hear, "Stop what?"
She gave a cross face, sticking out her tongue. This made Jayden give a ballsy chuckle. "Stop or do you want your but slapped," he said childishly, like speaking to a child. She screamed like on, "suck my ****," the detective looked stupid. "You don't have one."
This made Jayden laugh out loud, really loud. This was what snapped the pair out when they stupidly have each other aggressive stares.
BAAANG!!
It was loud, deafening. The people that shot relied on her laugh thinking they were clumped together, they were not. A gun was used because most swords do not have long ranged death attacks so they used flocks 17mm size, good for quick movement as they had a lighter version. This was the unfortunate event that hit poor Jayden, but would she complain?
Jaiden had a weird life, she had friends and a normal life, but what made her stand out was she had a hard time finding things funny. Laughing and smiling, feeling great joy, that was hard for her. She kept on living her life, she did give a few laughs but not as hard as her death. She had seen a ton more fun than this. But she still laughed, the most in her entire life.
Her final words were, "thank you, I could. Not having asked for a better death, detective, over the mud noise the only person that heard was him. Luckily the pair jumped out of the way in time, hiding behind a seat.
The reason why he could was because of Jayden's laugh, he did not know why but he could not control himself.
She broke it, he was happy but devastated he led another person to their deaths. But if she never came, both of them would have possibly died. He slapped her to wake her up, but the banging did it. She did not complain about his slap, and then they started talking, while it was BANGING.
"What happened?"
"There are people that shot us, the woman is down," he said slowly in the last clause, still cursing about what happened. He then said, "white flag," he waved a white cloth, but it got shot through. However it stopped the shooting, giving his ears bliss. "Why are you shooting?"
His plan was to play dumb, and get info, then fight with swords. Charlotte is as useless as a person with Swordancia. She did have fighting techniques but that was as far as her fighting career went.
"You should really have figured that out, but you probably did, detective," he said with an announcer's voice.
The flunk did not work, and he knows me, not a surprise.
This did answer a few questions, Charlotte was moving to the next safe area, so she could avoid the blood shed. They paid no attention to her, she could be a distraction. They never know if the detective might attack them.
He was smart, that was a fact. He was strong too, which made it worse. Never let your guard down to this son of a *****. The guards moved forward when the white man went backwards. He was scared of him, more terrified of him.
There were many holes in the room, luckily the bullets were stuck on the material so they would not go through the rooms, as planned. There was no motion, no movement, just silence; this made everything petrifying.
The detective had the upper hand, he had the power of fear, but he could not do anything until Charlotte moved away, still crawling stupidly. She was happy that they were focused on. She was stationed behind a plant pot.
She truly was tempted to jump out of the window, but wanted to keep her legs, so she looked for the detective. He was looking at the reflection of a metal. He saw something which made him break up. He kicked away the body that he ordered to destroy. He abruptly ran out, confusing Charlotte.
