Chapter 16

"Estrella? Are you okay?" Luna asked

I looked over at her "Uh yeah. I'm fine"

She pursed her lips "You don't look fine"

I was getting a bit annoyed "Well sorry for not living up to your expectations" I walked ahead of her.

Why does she always need to stick her nose where it doesn't belong? Sure. She might be right about me not feeling well. But she doesn't have to point it out.

"Hey! I hear a river over there!" Luna pointed to her right. "We should clean ourselves so we don't get sick"

"Won't we get sick washing ourselves with dirty water instead?" Cielo asked

Luna ran up to me and pulled on my arm "We'll go first. Don't disturb us"

Cielo sat down under a tree "Like I would want to"

Luna pulled me into the forest. I was already tired from the non stop walking in the heat and didn't feel like running around to find this river.

"So where is this river?" I asked

"There is none" she said

I yanked my hand back from her. "Then what's the point of walking all the way out here"

"You have been pale ever since you first woke up and it has only been getting worse ever since. Tell me. Are you okay?" She stared intensely into my eyes.

I looked away and said "I'm fine"

"You aren't!"

"Why did you ask me if you knew the answer?"

"Ah ha! You were lying!" She pointed at me

I rolled my eyes and sighed "Yeah. I haven't been feeling well and I might be getting sick. But who cares? Once we get to the place on the map, I'll start feeling better"

She looked down at the ground and muttered "I do…"

"Huh?"

She whipped her head up at me "I care. I care if you don't feel well or if you get sick. Even if you want to tough it out for Cielo's sake, tell me! You should at least tell me!"

"I…" I don't know what to say. "You're right. I don't feel well" Yep. That's a good start. "I haven't been feeling well ever since I woke up" Nice. Keep going. "It might have something to do with the dream I had while I was sleeping" No! Too much! Go back! "Or it could be because of the walking and I have been getting too much sunlight" Safe!

"A dream?"

Not safe!

"Uh yeah. It was just a random dream I had" I nervously said

"Do you want to talk about it?" She asked

"If I tell you, will you stop asking about it?"

She nodded.

I told her about the people from the beginning, feeling as if I was another person from another time, I even told her about the weapons from the rock in the dream and in the glass window from the Regne Unit.

After I finished, I looked back at her. I was ready for her to laugh at me and the stupid dream but instead she was deep in thought.

"Do you think that those were our ancestors memories? We are connected to each other through the weapons we have. What if Cielo has had visions as well?" She asked

"He's never said anything about it so I thought he just never had them" Thinking back, he was never all that interested in the weapons, being king of the kingdom, or anything related.

"Do you think we should ask him?" Luna asked

"I guess so. We can tell him about the dream as well. It's better to not have secret from each other since we're all we have right now"

We walked back to where Cielo was sleeping under the same tree we left him at. I shook him awake.

"You're back? Did you find the river?" He asked

"Nope. False alarm" I said "We need to tell you something"

"Your pregnant"

"Huh?!"

"Nothing. What is it?" He asked

I repeated to him what I told Luna. Afterwards, I asked him if he had any visions of past memories.

"Not that I can think of" he said

"They might come in later. But if you know anything, please tell us" Luna said

"Roger that!" He saluted

I stared at him in shock.

"What?" He asked

"Where did you learn that?"

"What? This?" He saluted

I nodded "We don't do that in our kingdom. The only time I had ever seen that was in the memories of the man"

"I...I don't know. It just felt natural" he said

Luna looked at the sky "Guys we should keep walking. We should have a few more hours until sunset"

We walked through the forest.

"Guys. I think we should be nearing the edge of the forest! It's getting thinner!" Cielo said

He was right. We didn't need to go through bushes and around trees as much as we had before.

Sunset was still close but Cielo felt anxious so we kept walking. We eventually made it out and into a clearing.

"Check the map! How close are we to the kingdom?" Luna asked

I opened the map "If we are where I think we are, then the kingdom should be a little bit ahead."

"To think! We were so close to another kingdom this entire time!" Cielo said

"We should rest until morning to continue walking" I said

"Why? We're so close to a real bed and food" Cielo whined

"I'm not sure if this kingdom is really this close or even if there really is a kingdom around here. It's best to wait until morning" I explained

Cielo complained but eventually agreed. We took turns staying up and continued in the morning.
