Escape

A hoard of demons of various sizes from human size to demons that were 50 feet tall all chased after something. Everything on their path crumbled as they violently crushed all in pursuit of it, the city that was destroyed in the battle, got demolished even further.

What they were chasing was something that moved with extreme mobility and maneuverability and dodged everything they threw at it. It was Ling Tian, Lian Qiu, and Huo Bing.

Ling Tian had jumped on his sword and shot off towards the opposite direction of the greater demon. Huo Bing, the little girl on his shoulder, held on for dear life; She pulled his hair which caused Ling Tian to grimace occasionally as her force weakened and strengthened when he made turns; However, she was surprisingly silent. Lian Qiu, on the other hand, shouted for Ling Tian to go here and there and used his hands to instruct with panic as he constantly looked behind.

Ling Tian on one hand had to deal with the annoying pain of his hair being pulled and on the other, the shouts of Lian Qiu and he had to balance them, fly, use telekinesis, attack the demons behind so they don't gain on them, pick their path of escape, and dodge what the demons threw at them. He was under a lot of pressure... This caused him to get a bit moody.

"Shut up! I see where I am going!" He shouted at Lian Qiu as he suddenly moved to the side, a boulder smashed on the path they were going to take which caused Huo Bing to pull his hair harder. "Hey, Red! Stop pulling or I will throw you to the demons!" Huo Bing pulled even more.

Ling Tian wanted to curse them as he controlled the sword to fly under a bridge and trapped a few of the bigger Demons behind, "Damn it! Lian Qiu, your finger just poked my eye, you moron. I am going to drop you!" Lian Qiu screamed and held on for dear life, "Don't, Just GO!" Huo Bing surprisingly said with anger, "Stop messing around! Why would you poke his eye?"

Lian Qiu pinched the little girl's face, "It was an accident besides Kids don't get to talk!" The Two began pinching each other and fighting verbally, meanwhile, a few veins popped on Ling Tian's forehead since he was the battlefield as their hands flashed obstructing his vision. "STOP! STUPID! SILENCE!" he shouted loudly and headbutted Lian Qiu.

Lian Qiu said indignantly, "Ouch, You take that stupid girl's side?!" Ling Tian glared with shining red eyes as he channeled a little killing intent, Lian Qiu turned silent instantly as he broke out in cold sweat. Huo Bing who couldn't see Ling Tian's eye saw his reaction and smirked thinking he was afraid of her since she was also glaring at him.

They couldn't accelerate much because they had to constantly dodge and move around so their speed was around 70 mph. Ling Tian saw something that resembled a city center and many tall buildings and ruins were visible there. He changed directions towards that place. 'hmmm, it might work!' he had a brilliant idea.

The number of demons was too much for him to fight them head-on and they kept increasing. They reached the part of the city that had big ruins and such, Ling Tian channeled Qi to his head and used his telekinesis with all his power.

The boulders and ruins lying around began slowly rising up, Ling Tian felt as if a black hole had appeared in his head devouring his Qi but he paid it no mind. He continued using it, All the flying pieces from various sizes began to slowly move toward the Demons and suddenly accelerated and shot towards them like arrows.

The Demons roared and intercepted the projectiles but since some were really big, many demons were smashed to death and the others had to slow down and avoid them. What Ling Tian wanted was to distract them and accelerate to escape, they kept harassing them so they couldn't before.

He used that window of time and shot up, He channeled all his Qi; The invisible Qi waves gained a red color around the sword and grew chaotic and big. They suddenly shot off at extreme speed, The air resistance was quite powerful but thanks to Wave Repulser, it was negated; the sword cut through the resistance with Qi. A thin but big red line was in front of them in a crescent shape, that was the Qi Ling Tian used with Wave repulser to cut the air in front.

In mere seconds they reached 400 mph and the acceleration stopped, This was the maximum speed Ling Tian could reach. They didn't feel a thing but occasional winds blew their hair back. Ling Tian Qi was rapidly decreasing, he looked back and saw the demons were far away and couldn't chase them anymore.

Just as he wanted to sigh in relief, Lian Qiu turned pale as he pointed to their front and said with a trembling voice, "The... The greater demon is ahead!"

Ling Tian looked at the front with razor-sharp eyes and noticed the greater demon looking at them. It suddenly spoke, its voice was extremely deep and demonic, it would create a chilling sensation in any who would hear it, "Ants... You will die."

Ling Tian gulped, Lian Qiu trembled under the being's terrifying gaze, Huo Bing looked with anger. She said, "Big brother, beat the crap out of him! HMPH, how dare they do such terrible things!"

They were still moving all this time, the greater demon who saw them approaching and not fleeing said with amusement, "Oh, you're approaching me? Instead of running away, you're coming, right to me?"

It grasped its sword that was a mile long, it was massive. The Sword was pitch black and demonic-looking. This demon was the same one that he had first seen and again seen eating corpses in great numbers from the corpse mountain.

Ling Tian amplified his voice with Qi and said, "I can't beat the sh*t out of you without getting closer."

Huo Bing's eyes sparkled as she looked on, 'Big brother is so cool!' Ling Tian was thinking, 'Acting tough feels surprisingly good! He saw Huo Bing and Lian Qiu looking at him as if he was some sort of god, he couldn't back down now... He regretted not turning around immediately but then again he thought, 'Behind me is a hoard of demons and in front is one boss demon so there was no choice in the first place, I will think of something... maybe I shouldn't have saved this girl? His eyes scanned the surroundings and saw a river! He was flying at the edges of the city, to his far back was the corpse mountain and ruined city, to his left was a mountain range with thick forests. To his right was a ruined piece of land that the great army had marched on, leaving nothing behind but plain and dead land for as long as the eye could see. To his front were the towering Demon and a river that came from the mountain range and flowed into great forests and hills towards the east.

He dropped Lian Qiu and tossed a stunned Huo Bing to him. He whispered, "There is a river, go and hide underneath the water and follow its path... you know where it leads."

Lian Qiu gulped and nodded, Huo Bing said, "But..." Ling Tian didn't linger to hear more.

He shot off towards the demon, standing straight. It seemed heroic, His back was as tall as a mountain for Huo Bing. Meanwhile, what he was thinking was, 'How to fool this thing?'

He opened his system quickly and saw he had 500k points, he had killed some demons and such along the way as they escaped. he upgraded his Qi cultivation. A powerful aura surrounded him as his Qi replenished and increased, it liquified more and his reserves grow several times bigger.
