Rich in Resources

I ultimately decided against revealing myself to Gilgamesh and Enkidu. Instead, I disguised myself and spent my time with the people soaking up whatever information I could get my hands on thanks to a little bit of hypnosis. I was here currently to see if Vandal Savage was around yet and if he had Nabu as a son considering he is about the same age as me or he should be.

I was able to confirm that he was masquerading as a demigod named Marduk but it seems that the common people are oblivious to the tensions between the fake demi god with the real gods and demigods. Seems the only reason the normal folks haven't been enlightened is that they have seen fit to reward Savage for his strength in battle while also helping to raise Gilgamesh in his earlier years and teach him how to fight before the boy outgrew him in power. Seeing as how Nabu hasn't been born yet I figure I'll leave him alone since that is an important figure in the future as the lord of order.

I also took a bunch of little trinkets that were made with magecraft that I think Tamamo might like. Gotta get her a gift since I kinda made this trip unannounced. Of the trinkets, I picked up the most important ones was the items that Enkidu and Gilgamesh owned that can be used as a catalyst for any potential grail wars in the future but also the hardest to steal thankfully I have a noble phantasm for that.

I also saw that the world was finally catching up even if it will take another 4,000 years until they meet the level of progress that Japan. It would close the gap in between easily if not for the original reason I did leave Japan heading towards the middle east which is resources. Now yes Japan is a very advanced country even in my original world but it is a big importer due to a lack of natural resources that the land just doesn't have which also helps maintain the natural beauty of the land (correct me if I'm wrong about that please).

Because of this, the government has greenlit a plan to expand our territory to Korea for a lot of different reasons mainly being resources followed by the increased population needing room to spread. We have no plans to go any farther after getting the land stopping around the modern border of Yalu River but we may take Sakhalin Island but there is a lot of anti-expansionist that don't want to spread our people too thin before we have both the manpower, resources, and technology to go beyond that.

The blame for that can be laid solely at my feet. I put that idea into their heads hundreds of years ago and it grew. Not that we needed to expand in the first place as we do have a self-sufficient economy but if we are to advance we need resources. Getting back on track as I said my original goal was to get resources by abusing the system inventory storage function along with the liberal usage of a couple of Noble Phantasms that can locate large reserves of underground or hidden resources. Even then it isn't too hard to get pointed in the right direction with the right questions as these people don't realize exactly how valuable the things I'm taking are. The ones that did ask for anything were easily bought with a pound or two of food.

I could have bought everything we need with the system it wouldn't have been expensive since I've been sitting on a majority of my points for all this time outside of cheap mundane items like books. However, I can easily get the shit for free if I spend a couple of days out here. That way I can save for the really good stuff like technology from the Halo series or androids from Detroit become human. That should take only another 1,000 years to reach that point but I might be underestimating my people a bit in that estimate especially since they can cut through a bunch of the bullshit and have a definitive road map to the future of technology thanks to all I have provided in the Library of Heaven that anyone can access.
