Temporary Expulsion

The next day has arrived and I wake up and put a long sleeve shirt on to cover the Blade seal on my wrist.

"Now I have to find my pants."

They were nowhere to be found in my room so I walk out of my room while rubbing my eyes walking towards the kitchen and I say.

"Mom where ar-."

And this was the most embarrassing sight and or situation I have been in. I stopped and froze up because Karr and Aubrey were there. I didn't mind Karr because he is my best friend and we have physical education and after we soak in the geyser to get clean but Aubrey was a girl and being in front of a girl especially one I like without pants on is not the place I would ever want to be in.

After what felt like an eternity I turn around and zip back to my room and shut the door sit against it with my hands on my knees and my head in between them. I think to myself.

"Why did they have to come over now, Aubrey is going to disapprove of me."

A knock sounds and it's my mother and she says.

"They are waiting outside you can come out now." I stand and open the door, only poking my head out and I say.

"Mom what did you do with my pants?"

She replies "I'm was washing them yesterday and forgot to bring them to you." "Sorry."

she sicks some through the crack of the door and I sigh then grab them.

After I was completely dressed I got my bag and walked out the front. Aubrey and Karr were waiting for me. Karr said.

"Sorry, but we can go to the sword battle."

I say "Y-yeah I know but I got a bad feeling about it."

"What do you mean?" Said Aubrey.

I say skittishly " Nothing it's just I feel something."

I began to regret taking my father's sword decided to use my regular training sword. When we get to the school Aubrey tells us to follow her and we do so. We are now in the area after crossing bugs and rats to get here it wasn't as exciting as I had hoped but fiery nonetheless. I see two kids already going at it they battle so elegantly. It didn't matter to me though I have side training from my father. One of the kids was Ace and the other was some other student I hadn't the name but he looked like he could give a fight.

Ace looks in my direction and smiles all menacingly and focused on the fight. He charged the other student upfront and as soon as the swords hit he vanished and this wasn't that impressive we all learned these tricks in basics. But he did something that I have not seen before he threw his sword at the other kids' feet and put his palms together and his sword and he switched places and as he appeared in front of the other kid he kicked him into the closest wall. and rolls his shoulders.

Karr and Aubrey are finding us spots in and I am alone, then Ace comes to me. He walked close and says.

"Well I didn't think you would join us today after our little encounter Noah I guess you're brave enough."

I start shaking and I muttered. "Shut up Ace."

"What was that?" He says threatened

He bucked at me and I flinched back and he put his hand up and Aubrey grabbed his wrist and Karr pushed him back and Aubrey said.

"What's going on here?"

Ace says "What do you like him or something?"

She gets angered and says she challenges him to a duel, and he accepted it. My eyes widen and I stopped shaking breathed in deeply and said.

"I challenge Ace."

Ace looked thrilled to hear this and he accepted both of us and he wanted Aubrey first. They stood in the arena almost 9 feet apart and the fight began after they threw words at each other. She came at him first and he threw his sword and she evaded it jabbing him in his forehead with the opposite end of the sword. He wipes his head off and says.

"My turn."

He runs at her without a weapon and I thought he was crazy until I saw how smoothly he dodged her attack and kneed her in the stomach and pushed her into the same wall she fell on her butt which means she lost the match. He then says.

"Don't pick a fight you can't win."

She stands tall and says "You got lucky." And walked away.

I stood up and walked to the arena and the kid announced the fight as Ace versus Earthquake and hearing that reminded me of what happened yesterday and I completely lost it and anger filled my body and some pitch-black mist surrounded my feet and it began to cover the surrounding area. I snapped back and I look at everyone and they were all shaking out of fear and the fight was immediately broken up by our superiors.

Later that day my Father and I were sitting in the headmasters' room and we were told I have temporary expulsion. Right after the meeting, my father found out about the blade of fury and he took it and did some intense scolding but that wasn't even the worst part my mother didn't even know.

"What were you thinking Noah?!"

I look at the floor in disappointment with myself and my father says.

"Your fortunate school is almost out for the Graduate break." "Your mother will deal with your punishment."

I knew right there that my break was going to be hell from the start.

Once my mother found out she scolded me as well and gave me the punishment of a lifetime.

She and my father had bought a farm and it was outside the walls of Forsaken with all the other farms. My punishment was I had to Clean the farm and take care of the food and animals all break long. This is not how I imagined my break at all.
