Sword Arts Online: Darkness

What if the creator of Sword Arts Online had controlled Kirito and his friends, turning them into evil, and brought the game into the real world, turning it into a giant game world? Well, this is the situation where our ordinary protagonist Roxas Nietes, or Spark78Reformed, as his player username, had found himself. Being a foreign high school student living in Japan with his friends in a shared house owned by his school would make his life there difficult, but his intelligence on basically anything instead made him prepared and an actionist. He was an ambivert who loved music, art, writing, picture taking, philosophizing, and best of all, making scenarios of all kinds in his mind. So, the day before SAO was brought into the real world, Roxas had unknowingly received a mysterious-looking email from a player named Anko Tachibana, who was a deceased player. That email is a request for help because he, who knew Kirito and his friends before, wants someone to help them, who are now known as the Elite Players, snap from their state of being brainwashed by the game. Roxas accepted it after some thinking, but there’s one condition: he will be Anko’s vessel because Anko is now a spirit after his death in the game. To be free from Anko’s ghostly possession, he needed to complete the task in any way he could. Now that he was Anko’s vessel, what would Roxas do to do this big and seemingly impossible mission? Well, he will use his intelligence, ambivert personality, and scenario-making mindset to do it, plus action. That combination sounds ridiculous and unorthodox, but for him, it will be a good one. So, join him, Anko, and their friends in a now-altered reality fighting monsters and bosses across Aincrad-ridded Japan and getting into the Tower while trying to get Kirito and his friends out of their brainwashed state. But the dark side of Sword Art Online was slowly revealed as Roxas and his friends went deeper and deeper for their mission through their spirit guardians. One of them was the origins of Eugeo and Alice (This was what if Eugeo and Alice were once humans who were killed and were forced to be bots in the games?) Warning: This story is dark, and the cover photos for this are NOT mine! Credits go to the original owner!

Chapter 66 - Balikbayan as a Student

Third person POV

"Oh, okay…" Evil Kirito responded, before chuckling darkly, "…good luck on your trip."

His friend also chuckled darkly, too.

"Yup! Thanks!" Roxas replied back happily, hiding his fear of them.

He then said thank you in Vietnamese and Korean, much to the 2 Elite Players' confusion.

Roxas then explained what those words mean in Vietnamese and in Korean.

After that, Roxas' ordered ride came and pulled over, catching Roxas' attention. Roxas and Anko then looked at it. The driver rolled down his window and looked at Roxas. "Hi there, you're Nietes Roxas, right?"

"Yes, I am," replied Roxas back. "You're that driver named Hashi Takikawa, right?"

Roxas then showed the profile of the driver on his phone to the driver.

Seeing that, the driver, Hashi Takikawa, nodded, "Yes, hop in."

 "Okay!"

As Hashi got off, Roxas then held his bags and went to the back, where Hashi opened the trunk and placed Roxas' roller bag, before closing it. Roxas then went to the back seat, opened it, and placed his backpack in it, before closing it and going to the front to sit in the passenger seat. As Roxas did so, Hashi went back to the driver's seat, and Anko went through the car door and settled in the back while remaining invisible from everyone. After that, Hashi shifted his gear to Drive and drove off with Roxas and Anko as Evil Kirito and Evil Asuna wavered them goodbye.

Later on, along the way, Roxas revealed his destination to Hashi, who then agreed and promised to arrive there as fast as he could. So, Hashi drove through expressways with some expenses in toll fees. Roxas and Anko were looking forward to arriving at Narita Airport before their scheduled flight at 5 p.m. this afternoon. Also along the way, Roxas engaged in a chat with Hashi. Hashi was just an NPC, but his son was a player in the game. Roxas was surprised and revealed to him about his status as a player, too, much to the driver's surprise. Roxas also took notes on Hashi's son being a player just in case, even writing the abbreviation JIC, or Just In Case, in his journal entry on his notepad.

After some time, at 4:03 p.m., all of them arrived at Narita International Airport, and Hashi pulled over. "We're here. Narita International Airport." Seeing his destination, Roxas grabbed his messenger bag and got off, before opening the back car door to grab his backpack. After Roxas did so, Hashi got off to get Roxas' roller bag, which also contained some of Roxas' souvenirs. After that, Hashi gave it to Roxas. "Here you go."

"Thanks!" Roxas positively responded back while receiving it.

His backpack was on his back, and it contained the rest of his souvenirs and food products from Japan.

Anko then exited the vehicle through the car door and stood beside Roxas while remaining invisible to the driver and everyone nearby.

"Well, good luck on your trip," Hashi responded. "I am happy to help. By the way, the ride cost 1,000 Gold Yen, please."

Roxas paid for it using his money.

After that, Hashi went to his car while saying, "Okay, thanks. Bye!"

As Hashi hopped into his car and drove off, Roxas grabbed his bags and went into the airport terminal to check in for his flight using his Template Ticket.

There Roxas was successful at the check-in counter, where the employee of Bicol Air confirmed his booking for the flight to Iloilo City, the Philippines via Legazpi City in the same country. After that, Roxas had his boarding pass and left to proceed to the waiting area as Anko tagged along. Along the way, he passed through airport security and immigration without a hitch all the while Anko passed through as a ghost.

Later on, now on his plane to Legazpi City while had a seat in Bicol Air's business class cabin, which was like any other business class in most regular airlines. Anko had a seat next to Roxas and the aisle since the business class cabin was partially occupied, leaving some seats vacant. Roxas and Anko were looking forward to arriving in Legazpi City to take a connecting flight to Iloilo City at 9:30 p.m. Anko wondered what life looked like in the Philippines as well.
