Sword Arts Online: Darkness

What if the creator of Sword Arts Online had controlled Kirito and his friends, turning them into evil, and brought the game into the real world, turning it into a giant game world? Well, this is the situation where our ordinary protagonist Roxas Nietes, or Rohasu Nitama as his player name, had found himself. Being a foreign high school student living in Japan with his friends in a shared house owned by his school would make his life there difficult, but his intelligence on basically anything instead made him prepared and an actionist. He was an ambivert who loved music, art, writing, picture taking, philosophizing, and best of all, making scenarios of all kinds in his mind. So, the day before SAO was brought into the real world, Roxas had unknowingly received a mysterious-looking email from a player named Anko Tachibana, who was a deceased player. That email is a request for help because he, who knew Kirito and his friends before, wants someone to help them, who are now known as the Elite Players, snap from their state of being brainwashed by the game. Roxas accepted it after some thinking, but there’s one condition: he will be Anko’s vessel because Anko is now a spirit after his death in the game. To be free from Anko’s ghostly possession, he needed to complete the task in any way he could. Now that he was Anko’s vessel, what would Roxas do to do this big and seemingly impossible mission? Well, he will use his intelligence, ambivert personality, and scenario-making mindset to do it, plus action. That combination sounds ridiculous and unorthodox, but for him, it will be a good one. So, join him, Anko, and their friends in a now-altered reality fighting monsters and bosses across Aincrad-ridded Japan and getting into the Tower while trying to get Kirito and his friends out of their brainwashed state. But the dark side of Sword Art Online was slowly revealed as Roxas and his friends went deeper and deeper for their mission through their spirit guardians. One of them was the origins of Eugeo and Alice (This was what if Eugeo and Alice were once humans who were killed and were forced to be bots in the games?) Chapter 62 - Brothers?

Third person POV

But then, as the duel of Evil Kirito and Roxas (with Anko controlling him partially) went on, Koyuki texted a message to Shuto and Minato, before taking a photo of the duel and sending it with the message. A couple of moments later, Minato texted back, "Woah! They're having a duel? Awesome!"

Shuto then added a message, "Should we go there?"

Koyuki then texted back, "Don't need. That'll be done shortly after. After that, we'll be there."

She then sent it.

Eventually, Shuto and Minato agreed.

At the same time, the duel of Evil Kirito and Roxas had come to an end. Both were exhausted, so neither side won the duel. "You're so as intense as me, Roxas…" Evil Kirito said to Roxas while panting.

"Yeah, same goes for you as well, Kirito-kun…" Roxas replied back while panting, before sheathing his sword.

Anko then came out of him and said, "Well! Neither you guys won."

"Yeah, it's a tie…" Roxas said to him, before sighing to catch his breath.

Sheathing his dual swords, Evil Kirito said to Roxas and Anko seriously, "Well, I'll let this slide, but next time, I'll win."

"Yeah, whatever," Anko responded back strongly and with some resistance, "we'll never die in this game!"

Evil Kirito gets upset by his words and just teleports from the scene.

Roxas was relieved by this, and Koyuki, Shin, and Fuyuko were relieved to see that their friend was fine.

Anko was proud of his duty to Roxas.

So, after an exchange chat of assurance of Roxas' safety, all of them went to Roxas' shared house. There Minato and Shuto were shocked to see not only Koyuki with her stab wound but also Fuyuko as well. Roxas assured them that Fuyuko wouldn't be bad to anyone now and that she was a part of their group, much to chagrin and shock. Fuyuko proved her worthiness by apologizing to Shuto and Minato sincerely. Shuto and Minato eventually accepted her apology and welcomed her into the party, much to Fuyuko's happiness. But then, Minato looked at Shin, and Hideyoshi within him was shocked to see him because…

"Is that…brother?" Hideyoshi asked, before coming out of Minato's body and seeing Shin with Koyuki. "Shin-kun, is that you?"

Shin then looked at him and was shocked to see him. "Hideyoshi? Is that you?"

Everyone in the house was taken aback by their recognition of each other.

 "What?"

 "You two know each other?"

Shin then nodded. "Yes, this guy is my oni-chan…"

"This young fellow is my younger brother…" Hideyoshi responded back.

Then, both of them managed to recognize each other's faces and walked to each other, hugging tightly while thinking that they would never see each other again.

 "Man, Shin, it is you!"

 "Yeah, me too, oni-chan!"

Both then shed ghostly tears as Roxas and the others were happy for them with tears of joy.

After that reunion, Hideyoshi and Shin thanked Minato and Koyuki for helping them find each other. "Yeah, no problem," Koyuki responded while being overwhelmed by their thankfulness to him.

"We didn't know you two are brothers," Minato added while being dumbfounded.

"Yeah, sorry, we didn't tell you that," Shin responded back.

"That's okay," Koyuki frantically replied in assurance.

"Yeah, it's okay," Roxas added as well.

Hideyoshi and Shin were relieved to hear that, and Roxas and the others were happy for them.

Later after that, Minato and Shuto congratulated Koyuki for finding her own spirit guardian and accepting his request. Koyuki was happy upon being congratulated. Fuyuko was happy for her, but she, still obsessed of Roxas on the inside, believed that she didn't need a spirit guardian of her own, preferring to survive on her own with her new party.

At the same time, a handful of players in the game also had spirit guardians of their own, causing a lot of shock to Akihiko and the Elite Player circle due to the live players' stats being boosted by their spirit guardians.
