Sword Arts Online: Darkness

What if the creator of Sword Arts Online had controlled Kirito and his friends, turning them into evil, and brought the game into the real world, turning it into a giant game world? Well, this is the situation where our ordinary protagonist Roxas Nietes, or Spark78Reformed, as his player username, had found himself. Being a foreign high school student living in Japan with his friends in a shared house owned by his school would make his life there difficult, but his intelligence on basically anything instead made him prepared and an actionist. He was an ambivert who loved music, art, writing, picture taking, philosophizing, and best of all, making scenarios of all kinds in his mind. So, the day before SAO was brought into the real world, Roxas had unknowingly received a mysterious-looking email from a player named Anko Tachibana, who was a deceased player. That email is a request for help because he, who knew Kirito and his friends before, wants someone to help them, who are now known as the Elite Players, snap from their state of being brainwashed by the game. Roxas accepted it after some thinking, but there’s one condition: he will be Anko’s vessel because Anko is now a spirit after his death in the game. To be free from Anko’s ghostly possession, he needed to complete the task in any way he could. Now that he was Anko’s vessel, what would Roxas do to do this big and seemingly impossible mission? Well, he will use his intelligence, ambivert personality, and scenario-making mindset to do it, plus action. That combination sounds ridiculous and unorthodox, but for him, it will be a good one. So, join him, Anko, and their friends in a now-altered reality fighting monsters and bosses across Aincrad-ridded Japan and getting into the Tower while trying to get Kirito and his friends out of their brainwashed state. But the dark side of Sword Art Online was slowly revealed as Roxas and his friends went deeper and deeper for their mission through their spirit guardians. One of them was the origins of Eugeo and Alice (This was what if Eugeo and Alice were once humans who were killed and were forced to be bots in the games?) Warning: This story is dark, and the cover photos for this are NOT mine! Credits go to the original owner!

Chapter 49 - Roxas' Singing Spirit

Third person POV

Later, at home, in his room in the late afternoon, Roxas was singing one of his favorite Filipino songs with silence; he only moved his mouth. Also, while listening to that song, he made movements and gestures with his body to express his interpretation of it. Roxas was happy and in his singing spirit. Anko within him was also in the spirit of singing thanks to Roxas' music-embedded memory and mind.

The next morning, in his morning walk across the safe zone in the neighborhood, Roxas was singing the same song from the previous afternoon, happy in his memory and the lyrics of that song. The lyrics were in Tagalog, and he can understand that very well. And then, Evil Kirito was walking towards an intersection when he saw Roxas singing and dancing around while walking. Evil Kirito was stunned with confusion to see him singing and dancing around while being immersed in his little, but very colorful world of music. The song-dance episode of Roxas ended up with a fist toward the sky while Roxas was saying, "Yeah, reform!"

After that, he looked at Evil Kirito and was taken aback by his presence with mild fear. "Um…uh…good morning…"

Evil Kirito then smirked at him. "Good morning, Roxas Nietes."

The Elite Player then applauded at his singing ability. "Good singing there."

"Y-Yes, thank you, Salamat," Roxas responded back nervously and positively.

He then said thank you in Dutch, Korean, Vietnamese, and Spanish.

Evil Kirito was confused by these words, so Roxas explained what those words mean according to their languages.

After that, Evil Kirito gets it and says with an innocent look on his face, "That was quite impressive of you. You're a genius." With that, he left the scene. Roxas and Anko then sighed in relief.

"That was so close…" Roxas commented with an imitated Spanish accent.

"Me too…" Anko added while nodding.

After that, both of them continued on going to school, where their friends were waiting for them.

Throughout the day, Roxas would be in his singing spirit mode from time to time, except during class hours. He also did that at one of the school's Student Lounges, a special kind of lounges where students can relax, unwind, watch stuff on TV, listen to music, and play video games during off-class hours. This was one of Roxas' favorite places for singing, dancing, writing stories, being alone in his closed-door mode, and acting. Anko liked his diverse array of skills, both practical and technical. Their friends also liked it, too.
