Adeline walked into the living room of the Petrov mansion. She proceeded to return to the guest room, but at the sound of familiar footsteps, she froze.
Dimitri! It was Dimitri walking down the stairs! But how come? He wasn't supposed to be back yet—at least not this early!
Gritting her teeth in annoyance, Adeline adjusted her clothing, and with a new expression put on her face—one that made it seem as if she was intoxicated, she began to dangle from one side to another, mumbling and uttering rubbish.
Dimitri, who had descended the last stair, came to a halt at the sight of her. His eyes scrutinized her from head to toe, and his forehead wrinkled into a heavy frown.
"Where have you been? Why weren't you home this-"
Adeline fell right into his arms, groaning softly. "Dimitri, is that…you?" She lifted her head, offering him a charming, toothy smile.
