A surprised glint flashed in Adeline's brown pupils.
"How did you know?" she asked, genuinely flabbergasted.
How could he tell she needed him? Was he a mind-reader or something? The more she pondered things, the more confusing they got, and she honestly felt like she was losing her mind.
Taking a deep breath, she asked, "Caesar...what is wrong with me?"
"What do you mean, my doll?" Caesar opened his eyes, very aware of where the question was coming from.
Adeline curled herself up, wrapping her arms around her knees.
"I feel like I'm going crazy or something. I don't understand my emotions anymore and often feel like I don't even have control over my own body."
She breathed. "Caesar, this only happens when...I'm with you. I don't get it." Her eyes flickered as she shook her head. "You don't understand how much I needed you. I wanted to cry because I just wanted you to-"
